I'm in the market for a new case since the $3 one I bought on Ebay is starting to peel finish. I'm looking for the thinnest, slickest case out there.
What case are you using?
Do you like it?
How much was it?
Where did you buy it?
Pictures?
THX!
well i would like to know this as well.
However i can enlighten you on how horrible the body glove case from sprint is. it looked great and was loving the feel until after a week, pulled it out of my pocket to find the case was broke where the volume rocker is. needless to say it looked and felt good but all in all i do NOT recommend it to anyone.

Mine did exactly the same thing, lasted about two weeks.
Funny, I ordered one of the $3.00 ones off of Ebay to replace it.
Actually I got mine on Amazon... forgot. This is the case I bought and while it is pretty thin and fits well, the paint job is totally shotty and now looks horrible:

I bought the white and chrome case from Sprint when I got the phone. I have had my phone since the release day for the EVO and the case still looks brand new. I really like the leather feel, and the chrome accents add to the overall beauty of the phone. I would recommend the case to anyone!
A guy I work with bought this one on Ebay about 2 weeks ago and says he's still happy with it:

Case-Mate Tough Case. Purchased from the Case Mate website it just became available. Been using this case on my iPhone 4G and I love it, best case out there for protection.

That Seido case looks bulky no? I'm looking for something that doesn't add to the already large footprint of this thing in my pocket.
How about the Otterbox cases.. anyone have experience with them on other devices (not out yet for the evo)

My buddy has a well-worn one on his iPhone that has been through hell and still looks good.

i have the body glove universal holder from radio shack which works for me. however, i am looking at getting the Seidio Innocase holster case combo... which is a steal on amazon as the case itself is $30 at sprint and the combo is $30 on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoca..._1_4?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1282702286&sr=8-4
i already tried the case and its nice and fits inside the body glove holder too, snuggley like pigs in a blanket at ihop.
Shouldn't this be in the Accessories forum?
(Black TPU case FTW.)
Yep... should be in accessories thread... my bad.
Are the otterbox cases thin though... I'm really looking for the thinnest case out there.
I always just wait for some YouTube reviews to pop up, shows me are how big the case is in real life. (Or as real as I care to get.)

Looking at the impact series case it doesn't look to be too bad. I really like the looks of the bottom two cases, so I signed up to be notified when they come out. I had the Sprint Body Glove case, had since release actually, but the volume rocker area just cracked last week. Lasted longer then most I suppose.
I've got the Seidio Innocase holder IceCreaMan linked to and it has been nice. It's got a nice texture, doesn't slide easily, isn't bulky, has a belt clip, and with the case on, it makes it so the camera doesn't stick out. It doesn't cover anything either so you still have your speakers, cameras, microphones, plugs, etc. Would definitely recommend it.
the Innocase II is a proven design in my opinion
its thin, and can take a drop (ive dropped mine from 8ft + onto concrete without any cracks in the case/damage to the phone)
I got a couple cheap cases from ebay; they're the clamshell design that has a front & back the snap together. They all felt too big and bulky though, so I got a Talon to replace 'em. Love it. Just snaps onto the back of the phone and protects the corners from drops and the camera from scratches when laying the phone on it's back. I have an InvisibleShield on the front to protect the touch screen from scratches.
The talon is almost like not having a case at all -- doesn't add much bulk to the phone.
And it's only 10 bucks.
Got my case today, I was a little worried because two days after I purchased it Ebay pulled all of the sellers listings and sent me a notice saying I could file a claim to get my money back. Since the seller had good feedback, and he had notified me that it had been shipped (from China), I decided to wait and see if it would show up, which it did.
I really like it, much better fit and quality than the Sprint body glove I had on my phone before. Time will tell if it lasts, but I have to say for $3.00, I am pretty impressed. It has a soft feel that gives a more secure feeling grip than the body glove, plus it is slightly thinner, but still protects the camera lens. Plus it is red, love the color.
Wish I could give a link to the one I got, the seller has put some of his cases back up, but no Evo cases yet.
Here is a link to a red rubberized hard case that looks very similar to the one I got.
Hi guys,
Was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for cases for the G2?
I like how it looks naked but am worried about dropping it!
If it was made entirely of that grippy grey material and didnt have the aluminium finish on the back itd make a difference but..
Also if phones had wrist strap loops I wouldn't need a case at all!
What are you guys using and what's good about it?
Thanks!
Edit: erm i just realised the existence of the G2 accessories forum
Sorry mods! orz
i got a smoke clear case from vanguard... 5/5 stars
Check out the Accessories forum
I like the cheap black G2 case that is posted in the accessory forum. I also trade off between that and the clear case with kickstand that T-Mobile sells. Got it on accessorygeeks.com for cheaper though. The clear one is hard to take off.
I use the G1 OEM Black Pouch for my phone. Mostly when its in my pocket to protect it from my keys and to keep dust away. Fits perfect. About $4 bucks on Ebay.
the cases at accessorygeeks.com are good
if you live in canada it takes 3 weeks to ship to you
I run naked! Well I grabbed a Stealth Guard on their site for $3 and so far I like it, protects the back fairly well...just wished it was on the side better
Bought a $3 case off of Amazon. Great fit butthe paint job isn't the best.
So today I was getting out of my car on the way to class and i dropped my Droid X in the street!! Needless to say theres more than a few scratches and dings on it . I was very mad at myslef. I wish there was a way to fix these scratches and dents.
Anyways, my question is what is the best case for the droid X that will cover these scratches but add minimal to no extra bulk?
Thanks
Really, it's all going to be on you. I personally, like the Otterbox cases, however, you should probably look at the Verizon store, see if there's anything there you like, and then get on Amazon and see if you can find the same case (probably @ half price ).
I went with the Incipio case. I put a review in the accessories section, which reminds me i should get the pics up. But like stated above its all personal preference when it comes to cases.

get an epik case from ebay. only cases i use on my devices. I have one now for my thunderbolt.
I use the a no-name thin profile rubberized case available on Amazon here. It's only 3 bucks (with free shipping). It has a nice grippy feeling to it without being too grippy where it sticks in your pocket. It also adds very little bulk to the phone.
Dude, you had no case or screen protector? Lesson learned? Ebay has a ton of cases that would have protected your phone. I use the Verizon TPU semi rigig silicone case with Zagg invisible sheild on the screen. It's really protected.
Otterbox is VERY good, it completely encompasses the phone & also comes with a screen protector.

If you want the maximum protection, look at the Trident Kraken case for your DX. Check the price at Amazon, as they're usually lower. If you want intermediate range protection, check out Otterbox or Body Glove cases. They also are sold by Amazon.

Thanks for all of the advice guys! I just wish i had a time machine so i could avoid this whole fiasco!
I had a carbon fiber case on my dx when I dropped on a glacier but it hit some rocks on the screen side so it took some dings (last summer). Moral of this story is the best way to protect your phone isn't always a case or screen protector, sometimes its being extra careful.

Hello all...... I've had my Streak 5 about a month now, and I REALLY think it's the best all-in-one device I've EVER owned (that covers alot of ground)... Like others, I've noticed how the screen/LCD "ripples" around the edges, even under very light pressure. According to what I've read, this could be due to too much pressure being exerted on the underlying LCD.... I guess the Streak is too thin, and the LCD is too close to the glass screen. My question to everyone is this: What's the hands-down, best "hard" case for the Streak (something that will alleviate undo stress on the screen)? Thanks all!! / Steve H.
Go with outterbox cases. They are the best! I got the outterbox defender. It adds ALOT of protection to the phone but it also makes it VERY bulky. It doubles the size of the phone but I don't mind it. I rather be safe then sorry. But like I said if you want a good case alot of people on here go with the outterbox cases. Hope that helps.
Ditto the Otterbox.
Go for the commuter model.
Thanks all
Thanks for the advice ...... I tried the "cheaper" OtterBox (the black rubber model), but I don't think it provides any stiffness/rigidity to the gizmo..... in fact it might actually cause more flexing due to the added weight placed on the Streak? Does the "Commuter" model have some kind of framework to relieve stresses? Thanks again
Great Otterbox case overview at Streaksmart.
I tried them all and ended up keeping the Commuter.
Edit: I also have a case from easecase that I bought on eBay for when I need to carry my Streak on my belt. They are custom made and very tough. I use my Streak to listen to music while working in the yard.
Got the Otterbox and am loving it. It fits very well and feels sturdy.
i liked the transparent hardcase from dell..but the movable cover for the dock broke and i cannot find another anymore.
Thanks again, everyone..... I guess I'll bite the bullet and go for the Commuter..... Oh, and I do like the semi-transparent case that came with in the box..... I'd like it alot more if it was clear (I guess my Streak sat in Dell's inventory too long because that case has a brownish tint to it).... Another radon gas casuality ?
I went with the Defender. If I had anything less my Streak would be toast by now. I originally bought the Commuter and returned it the same day for the Defender. Yes it adds bulk to an already enormous phone but it's worth it.
Otterbox Commuter FTW.
Very happy with my otterbox courier case
The OtterBox Commuter Case was my choice and I like it very much. I can still put the Streak in my pockets with it.
I was watching a lot of reviews about this phone.
TheVerge review:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=herJmqIGOoM at 2:25, he says that it is a glass phone and he dropped the phone
from his kitched table.
And the back of the phone, near the camera got a crack.
I am buying this phone and also planning to buy a protective casing?
Do you have any recommendations? What kind of casing I should go with.
I have zero knowledge about this.
A TPU case is the one to go with in this case.

I want something that looks cool and avaliable in Canada. I understand the cases will be avalible
few weeks after the release of the phone but any good companies.
Are any of you planning to go with a casing. I dont want to buy a case at all but the review scares me
I sold iPhone cases for awhile. It's going to come down to taste for more people than not, but if you want the most protection, the Griffin Survivor, the Lifeproof case and the Otterbox Defender were what I'd recommend (assuming all of those are made for the N4; the Otterbox will certainly be, but can't say for sure about the others). Another extremely protective option that isn't discussed much for whatever reason are cases that are also wallets; they tend to have a lot of padding, and at least then you've got something that serves double duty. Not all of them are well made of course, but some are. I have no idea who'll be making wallet cases for the Nexus 4, though; you'll have to just wait on that.
If you want something slimmer but still protective, the Speck CandyShell is a solid option; it has both rubber for shock absorption and hard plastic for stability & feel. And I'd guess it (or one of their similar products) will be made available for the Nexus 4, since they made a version of their (IMO quite handsome) Pixelskin HD for the Galaxy Nexus.
