Well, guess I managed to find another quirk in this model.
Simply said: the SMS balloon that shows unread message in the home screen always says (1), however I read all the messages. I don't know how to fix it, can you help me?
I never heard about this problem but you can try booting into recovery and wipe dalivk/art cache and cache.

So, I've recently bought a new vibrant and at first I was able to download some apps after booting, after a few minutes though I can't seem to download anything anymore, the downloads start and the download notification appears on top then dissapears after a second. Hope someone can help. I've tried everything, I've cleared all the cache/data(from checked in service, gtalk, market, etc...), signed out and logged into gtalk, uninstalled market update. I also tried doing a factory reset and even reflashed the rom back to JFD from JI6 but the problem still occurs, after I either hard reset or flash it to stock it works for a few minutes, from 5-30 minutes before the problem occurs again wherein it'd either stay at starting download or the download icon will appear at the notification bar, then dissapear after 1 second. It's been driving me crazy for over a week!
Hope someone has a solution.
Thanks!
This happens to me at times, but after clearing the market apk cache I'm able to download apps properly. Try to clear it a few times before deciding to reinstall the apk. Also, speaking from experience, I dont think that flashing different roms would help too much. Every time i flashed a rom the same problem came back and i would have to do the whole "clear cache" thing over again.
hi, thanks for the help. I've already tried clearing the market cache and other apps but it still doesn't work. I've read of a new market app version 2.2.11, I tried downloading it to the phone and installing it but the phone says something like "error parsing package".
Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 running 2.2 and just did a factory reset on the handset as I had an issue with the screen lock.
That has all been fixed with the reset but now everytime i receive an SMS I receive the sms notification in the top bar with another notification saying there is a new msg. This will not go away unless u clear it every time which is quite annoying. Anyone had the same problem and know how to fix it?
Cheers!
May be you've installed more than one messaging apps in your mobile like handcent sms/chop sms. You can disable that notification in the settings of each messaging app installed.

flash your rom back. will solve the problem
yehs thats what i've been told to do, flash the rom back and it should work fine. being the noob i am would you be able to point me in the right direction or to a link with instructions on how to flash the phone and which rom would be suitable for me?
Last time I attempted something like this I bricked the phone >,<
Cheers
Before you flash do a factory reset after deleting any SMS apps then reinstall them .

just updated to Dorimanx 3.0.0 cLK and everything was working fine, but then my sms messages stopped sending. I was able to send them fine and then poof... every time I send one now it just sits there forever saying "sending...". I can receive them fine, but sending doesn't work at all. I know my APN settings are correct because it was working with these settings for months up until recently ( and I double checked to see if they got changed somehow, they didn't.) I have experienced this a few times before after running on a ROM for a few months and I usually task29, re-install, and then it's fixed but I literally just task29'd and re-installed everything (restored data) last night when I updated to 3.0.0 so this is a totally fresh install.
I tried doing a logcat while sending... absolutely no log output from sms whatsoever. HELP?!?! tried clearing cache and dalvik-cache and rebooting. tried fix_permissions. tried re-installing 3.0.0 on top of my previous install. Nothing seems to fix this "infinite sms sending" bug for me.
Is there a particular cache or data directory that I can clear out to possibly fix this because I really don't want to be wiping my data on my phone and restoring all the time just to make my sms let me send for a little while.
nobody has seen this before?
I have a similar problem running Typhoon CM7 3.7.5, but only with MMS. It will attempt to send for hours with full data connection, but never does. Will not download them either.

When sms was working for me I could send mms messages no problem. I think this must be some sort of bug in the mms.apk from cm7 because it's happened several times for me and every time the only way to remedy it is a full system wipe (which I literally just did less than 24 hours before the sms issue happened to me the last time.)
I find that if a txt fails to send, it will never send, regardless of the retry timer, and I must resend it as a fwd.
hi guys i am on 4.4.2 and my whatsapp randomly stops working sometimes during my convos and a message says "whatsapp unfortunately stopped working". i am rooted and have a custom google playstore via lucky patcher, also when my whatsapp stops working and after it recovers i still dont received the messages that were sent to me while my whatsapp was not working. the person on the other end of the phone tells me the messages they sent me only display 1 tick. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing ram, wiping cache and dalvic cache. how can i fix this?
I recently switched from AOSPA after not being particularly impressed and went back to oxygen. However, after attempting to send a message I was unable to send one and noticed that I also am unable to receive. Phone calls and cellular data seems to work perfectly. I have flashed the proper firmware and reflashed the OS several times, but for no avail. I've also tried to clear cache l, but still no luck. I haven't been able to test the SIM card on another phone yet, but as the problem started as I switched OS I doubt that the problem lies there.
Some weird things I've noticed:
- Both Facebook and Google Messenger refuse to even attempt at sending a message, whereas textra pretends nothing is wrong
- In gsam battery monitor the phone line is greyed out
- Right after boot a message saying there is no service appears, but disappears fairly quickly.
Thanks in advance!
And this is after clean flash? Also without trying to restore any data using Titanium backup or other?
Clean flash, but I did use titanium backup. Guess that could be the cause. Seems like I'll have to do another clean flash anyway.
