I do not have "Secure startup" option in my S7e settings
This is so strange I rooted my phone a lot before
Is it because of flashing drm disabler in TWRP ?
Any Idea ?

Your device is not encrypted due to what you did, thus secure start up cannot work, there is nothing to secure without encryption lol

So, if I turn on the "secure startup" option, will my lockscreen password be my data partition encryption password? If I turn off this option, my data partition is still encrypted, but with a password (or key file) I don't know? Where does this password (or key file) store?
What if I want to update Samsung apps? I doesnt let me only if I enable secure startup.... but since it's missing I cant install the updates... (on SuperMan rom).
If I'm correct, that is the trick intended for android n stock rom with august patch. That is very spesific situation. I think you're out of luck, mate

I did a factory reset and wiped the cache, several times in a row last night, because I got sick of a few things and wanted to run a test.
I wanted to install IceBox Apps Freezer. You don't need root, so long as you set it to be 'Device Owner' using ADB shell:
Code:
adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.catchingnow.icebox/.receiver.DPMReceiver
The app says to remove all accounts associated with the device in order for that to work. On our tablets (all models) this isn't possible. So I had to find out a way that would clear all 'device owners.' Google itself is very specific about how this is to be done: Factory reset.
Caution: If provisioning has already started, affected devices must be factory reset first.

Since I did that, and didn't register the tablet with Amazon, Managed Provisioning shouldn't apply. However, I followed all the steps, made sure WiFi was and still is off and went into ADB and this is what I got in return:

Um what? Is that even legal?
have you seen anyone having success with Amazon devices?
it's possible they didn't include this feature

As far as I can tell, through all possible methods to gain Device Owner, Amazon has provisioned the devices, en mass, before they are even purchased. Likely done with NFC which is included on the Fires, but is another piece of software Amazon blocks us from accessing and or using. Even a factory reset and attempt to add device owner on language selection screen failed.
IMHO this really should be illegal. What the hell did we actually buy then if we don't own these?
I purchased a refurbished S8 (SM-G950F) from Argos eBay a few months ago. Phone seemed in perfect cosmetic condition, but the software side of it has started to annoy me.
I couldn't get banking apps to work correctly, then found out that when running Safety Net I get "CTS profile match - Fail". I've done nothing to it (root, ROMS etc), so can only assume it's something to do with the bootloader in the refurb process?
Also, weirdly, in "About Phone", the "My Phone Number" is totally different to mine.
Phone is currently on Nougat. Would it have had Oreo installed OTA if it was passing Safety Net?
What options do I have with regards to making it pass CTS profile match? Would flashing a new stock ROM be a waste of time if the bootloader has been modified?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like the bootloader has been unlocked, try using magisk and magiskhide to hide root from your banking apps. Works for me on the Halifax banking app
Trying to install TWRP via Odin (to then get me to installing Magisk) but I'm going round in circles.
Everything I read online says you don't need a PIT file in Odin, but this is what mine is showing (JOdin3 on Mac OS, FYI)
Downloaded TWRP file and added to PDA section

}
Click Start, and get this popup
If I select a PIT it tells me I have I to re-boot phone, but when I re-boot into Download mode, it won't connect in Odin!
So it took me a bunch of attempts and a few times where I thought I'd soft-bricked it, but managed to install Magisk (and updated to Oreo in the process)
Ended up borrowing a legit Samsung cable, and doing it all on a Windows machine.
Also now have Google Pay working and fingerprint login on my banking app
hi i hope thats the right section this time.
hey XDA Pro´s
i thought quite a while on how to explain what, how and where i need help.
but first off i have to say that i am not a native english speaker, so please stay nice
its not my first samsung that i tried to root but this time i f´d up real bad!
my phones storage was full, even tho i deinstalled almost every app but it kept on beeing filled with "ghost" files that i couldnt figure out what it was. so i came to the conclusion to root to get rid of everything that might be a rogue file or else.
well the root worked quite well, for a about 2 hours, then i made a mistake and set the "OEM" Slider back in the developer options, after 30mins it rebooted and my phone had a FRP Lock. i know... i fd up!
then i thought, well i could easily just downgrade, reflash another rom to get rid of the FRP Lock.
as you can see, it went even more bad.
i cant flash anything anymore and need help.
since it happened a month ago i really try to recall what i have done so far, so please ask me whatever is needed to get my phone back to normal.
i tried several odin versions, the latest telekom rom, a standard samsund s7 edge rom but nothing seems to work.
i hope someone knows what to do

Hi. Just I upgrade from 7.0 to 8.1. using LRSA (Lenovo Rescue Smart Assistant). Previusly i made a backup.
8.1 it´s ok. Then factory reset throught Settings > ... Everything was perfect.
Until I connected the LRSA to try to recover the backup.
The LRSA awaits authorization from the mobile, but the mobile never requests it. (computer's RSA key fingerprint in Android mobile)
I read that i have to go back to some previous version, but nothing worked. The bootloader was not modified.

Is there a way to make the popup appear?
Or go back to a previous version?
Thank you very much.-

I I believe all you need is to revoke USB debugging authorizations in settings/dev options

I had tried but it didn't work.
Thanks sd_shadow.

I also had a finger print on it but it got restarted and the the phone asking for a pattern which I don't remember. Is there any slightest chance that I can recover my data ?

If you have registered with your Google account, you should be able to unlock using your Google password, too.
Hope that you have not changed this unlock method

They have changed that method. Man
More information would be helpful. Bootloader unlocked? TWRP installed?
If for some strange reason you have Android 10 and a functional copy of TWRP you should be able to delete the password data.
It's been a while since i actually did this but it's more than likely possible, if you're on Android 11 then no you'll have to wipe.
Have you tried to log in using safe mode? Might offer a second method instead of the pattern.

Unfortunately that's actually there too protect your data so there's a slim silver lining.
Hopefully you've synced contacts with Google and your photos with Google..
Apps will lose data but most will be saved with sync
