Then go to settings>applications>google app>storage>manage space and clear all data

No need to go for a Nougat ROM.. You can enable it on Marshmallow as well. Try the below tutorial
http://www.droidape.com/get-google-assistant-marshmallow-devices/
I have installed the app directly and I have not had to change anything in the buildprop.
Sorry, install on MM Rom.

Hi guys today I wanted to share you guys how can you get google Assistant on your Modo without Root. This method is safe and advantages are
As I said no root hence you are not breaking your ota, no need unlocked bootloader,no need to root your device,no need to edit your build prop.
All you need to do is to sing up for beta tester of google play service and beta for google app.
Google play service (beta)
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.google.android.gms
Google app(beta)
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.google.android.gms
It worked with miui 8 and miui 9 and o even tested it with other handset like Lenovo k5 and it worked successful.
And yes a reboot is compulsory. After that and here you go . And now I tested it on 5 device running with different skin and it worked. It worked on miui 8 miui 9 Android 6.0+ on funtouch os of vivo and emui and also on le eco so yes it's good I haven't tried it on Android lollipop if anyone is there they may try it and inform me. I guess a little build prop editing may help

(Ps.I already used the method of CCSWE manager and also the beta of google), I have all the prerequisites to install Assistant. Please help me.
So I searched for These and found a app named Miracast enabler. Thanks To @r3pwn
Though the app is not the only thing that will enable miracast there are some other things to do....
**A rooted Phone must required for this. And LineageOS or LOS based ROM.
So...
Here are the steps.....
1) First add the line in your build.prop and restart ur device.
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
2)Now download the Apk and install
Link -- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qIaDJmdbIJKvJEw-MZmhhvkoTpPdQ9-5/view?usp=drivesdk
Then open the app and give root permission then click on install. Give storage permission if it ask.
2) Now download Mirror enabler from this thread
Thread Link -- https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-tv/chromecast/experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193
Direct download link from thread --- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001616583
Open It and give root permission
Then u will see 3 options Disabled
Enable Them one by one! Then restart your phone! ( If The app crashes Try yo enable 2nd option first then reboot then Enable other 2 options. Then reboot)
After that goto Settings >Display> Cast then click on option(3 dot in the top). Then mark "Enable Wireless Display".
Now u will be able to cast ur device screen on any wireless display!
*****This tricks is tested on Redmi 3 with Lineage14.1+Opengapps nano.
Does this work con LoS 15.1?
Does anyone know why Miracast support is not included in LoS?
Thank you! I have Redmi 3 too and this instructions work for me!

MirrorEnabler is Incompatible with my device
I'm currently running Lineage 16 on an A7 2017
I've done the first few steps, but the MirrorEnabler says its incompatible with my device and I'm lacking audio_submix file and I should contact my provider, what does this mean? And can it be fixed??
Is it compatible with ZTE Blade V7 Lite phone(Android 6 version) that has no built in screen mirroring function at all?? ?

I doubt it, except if you are running a LOS 14 (based) ROM. But try it out and report: Make a backup in TWRP, install the apks as explained in the OP and try it out. If it works, great, if it doesn't just restore the backup from TWRP and tell us in this thread if it did(n't) work.

I didn't get any help!
Hey I think this project is dead, so probably we won't get any response from the developers. Also I left Lineage Os for crDroid, and I am a lot happier with crDroid mainly because ScreenMirrowing is work, Hotspot, ECT. Sound works absolutely fine, you can fix some call cracks by turning off (Google's) Microphone! Here's a link , check it out and a lot of what's working in crDroid compared to Lineage Os whether 14.1/15.0 or 16. Will it work on aosp based rom ?
In Lineage 17.1 its posible ?
doesnt work on Lineage 18.1 (galaxy mega 6.3) and the problem still persists ..
Some days ago the meizu m2 of my brother started having problems with the google apps not working any more (completely white screen in Play store and nothing working well). For this reason I decided to unlock its bootloader and install Lineage OS but after flashing Open Gapps I noticed that the google apps keep crashing all the time.
Looking around these forums I noticed that there are a lot of people with the same problem and for this reason I wanted to open this thread to collect all the discussions on the problem and to track any possible news about the problem itself and possible solutions if found.
I think that the cause of the problem may be Google discontinuing support to Gapps on phones not certified (I read some news on this topic some months ago).
I would like to know if someone has already found a solution for the problem to make the Phone usable again with the original Flyme OS or also a custom rom.
Thanks in advance.
[UPDATE] As a first solution for now I installed an old version of the gapps (You can find all the open gapps by date on the tags of the open gapps repository on github i.e: https://github.com/opengapps/arm64/tags?after=20180622) like suggested by someone on other threads. It seems to work for now because just after installation I deactivated the play store from the system settings so that google play services cannot be updated. I use yalp store (available on f-droid) to install apps from the play store
hello , i have a same problem,
this problem is with OpenGAPPS and MindTheGapps with 4 testing roms (Lineage, Viper, CrDroidAndroid, Resurrection_Remix),
in original Flyme OS is same problem.
I've tried Lineage 14, Resurrection Remix, Viper OS, Lineage 12, MIUI and everywhere Google Play Services crashes. As "whole m2 development is dead now" there is no hope that this will be solved.
At the end I installed AOSP 8.1 and it all working fine.:fingers-crossed:
Let me check it and find a solution for this. I will remind you guys what we can do to use it without issues if i found some. M2 is a secondary phone for me now. So let me try.
Updated first post with a possible solution
Uninstall the update (google & google play services), and turn off "auto update" on play store. Hopefully it can help.

Could you specify exactly which open gapps version you used (5.0-9.0?, nano/pico?)
And did you install open gapps on the Lineage OS you already had flashed on or onto stock ROM?

I installed OpenGapps Micro (of the 1st of August 2018) on Lineage OS
Solution:
1. Install 4.5.4I firmware
2. Root your device
3. Unlock bootloader
4. Install twrp 3.2.1
5. Flash AOSP 8.1 Rom
6. Flash arm64 8.1 micro gapps
Working all fine. Good luck.

Hey, I have a few questions regarding this.
Does FlymeOS 6.2.0.0G (or 6.3.0.0A for that matter) not work at all with open gapps?
Is there a point to install that instead of AOSP 8.1?
I still use FlymeOS stock 4.5.4l and I don't know why it would be more beneficial to use AOSP instead of a recent version of stock FlymeOS.
Does AOSP 8.1 have a lot of bugs?
I checked its forum page, it seems quite a lot of things are broken.
The ones that mostly concern me are the battery problems (though I have battery issues with the stock 4.5.4l FW currently as well), bad headphone sound quality, no navbar and sensor issues. Can you confirm that those are still present or has been fixed since?
hi
any solution yet i try to install google play service .apk and i get message tha telling me that i need to update it pls help me how to resolve google problem
Ok here is the only solution for google play services in flyme.
from security app go to data then network management and uncheck play service from wlan and cellular.....play service cant update now.....to run play store and play games and other google apps, follow the same process and check it.....then open your desired app very quickly and uncheck the play service again through recent screen.....dont leave it checked more than a minute or it will update automatically.....

Do you happen to have a mirror? It downloads extremely slowly. If not, I'll try downloading it now and will mirror it here when it's finished.
EDIT:
Nevermind, found a mirror on the flyme forums:

Hi, I am the one that posted the mega link but you will have to rename it as update.zip I had to change the name to make it more clear in my mega account sorry about that.
Hello everyone, I need help with turn on Ok Google.
I have stock rom without root and Spanish lenguaje.
The problem is when I want turn on voice match i have to lear it my voice, when I back to home, the voice match is turn off.
I tested uninstall Google App and it installed again, also i installed old version and the problem exist. Also, I changed the lenguaje but doesn´t work.
Im tired, the solution exist or is the fu´´´ One UI or bixy ?
Thanks you so much !!
Had the same problem on A10... had to use a different launcher to get OK Google to work.
I got two solutions... the first one on A10. Join Google Beta. It's stable but working as it should. Also update OneUI Home (the launcher) via Galaxy Store
The second solution is updating to A11 and OneUI 3. With Google Beta it still works perfect
