Just tried to run this script on the 1.80.651.10 version of the Sprint software and all apps are still present on reboot. Any ideas how to check what's going on?

So after I rooted, I'd like to know what apps are safe to freeze/uninstall? I did the ones that I have memorized and the obvious from my SGS2, but it appears there have been some new ones added to the SGS3.
So far I have removed:
AllShare Controller
AllShare Play
AllShare Service
AT&T Hotspot
AT&T Messages
AT&T Navigator
ChatON
myAT&T
S Suggest
YPmobile
I have all of them are backed up in Titanium back up. So far I haven't missed any of these apps nor have I run in to any problems as a result of removing them.
Those were the stuff I removed already, except for S Suggest. Just now removed that. Thanks. Any idea what TetheringProvision is?
I believe it's part of the AT&T tethering suite of apps. It should be safe to remove so you can install a tethering app of your choice instead. I'd make a back up of it, just in case.

MyAtt and Hotspot are actually good apps. One of them lets you pay your bills or check your account status and the other one kicks in at shopping centers where att has a mobile hot spot, so you could use wifi instead of your phone data.
I'm coming from the epic 4G with CM 10.1 (used CM all the way back to first put on epic). I've backed up apps and data with mybackup root and titanium backup. Call log and SMS with call log and sms backup and restore. I need to restore the call logs and sms and data from a few info apps like fuel log onto thet S4. At this point I have no idea how to proceed. is it is safe to do so for any of it? Do I need to root in order to do so? If I do is it possible to safely return to out of box state if something were to go wrong? I would like to tether do I need to root to tether? And I am wanting to get rid of most if not all of the junk preloaded on the S4.
The following show as downoaded apps: 1Weather, BaconReader, CBS Sports, com.sprint.mobileid.googleiconpack, Google Play services, Google Play store, IAP, Lookout Security, Samsung Apps, Samsung Push service, Scout, Sprint - Discover apps, Sprint Icon Pack, Sprint Music Plus, Sprint TV and Movies. GP store will stay and I assume GP services are needed for it? Is there any benefit of keeping the samsung app store thing? And are IAP and samsung push services part of it? The rest appear to be safe to remove. I have no idea what sprint icon pack is, anyone know?
Flipboard, Google+, Google Talk, My Files, Play Magazines, Play Movies and TV, Play Music, Polaris Office, S Health, S Memo, S Translator, *Samsung Hub, *Samsung Link, *Sprint Worldwide, *Sprint Zone, Story Album, TripAdvisor, VPN Client, WatchOn, and CBS Sports appear to be system apps. I'm not likely to use any of these either. Will freezing them be the same as if I uninstalled them? And is root needed to do that?
Freeze apps. You can always restore them if you broke something. I am guessing that restoring apps and data from another phone, which is running a different ROM and version of software won't work very well. You might be able to restore your SMS MMS using SMS MMS backup and restore, but I don't think you're going to have much luck with other apps. See if your old apps have a backup and restore feature in settings and back up to SD card then restore on the new phone.
I rooted following QBking77's latest video. However titanium backup can't find SU where it expects to. At least that is the message I get after opening TB even after getting the prompt to give SU permission and even after rebooting after that as well.
I guess I was hasty in my previous post, I used busybox to check to see if everything as ok and it didn't appear busybox was installed. I went ahead and installed it and now TB works.
Hi, I have two Galaxy S4's. They are model numbers SGH-I337 and SGH-M919V. Recently I was prompted to update ChatOn to version 3.2.137, so I did. Then I got prompted to update ChatOn Voice and Video Chat to version 1.5.0.31. I get two options to update, through Google Play Store or Samsung App Store. When I choose Google Play Store, it says my device is not compatible. When I choose Samsung App Store it says file not found. So basically I am unable to update the voice and video chat feature for ChatOn. This feature was working just fine when I first got the phones. So now when I open ChatOn I am prompted to update Voice And Video Chat, but I decline the update since it won't allow me anyways. But when I decline the update ChatOn closes. So now I am completely unable to use ChatOn all together. I've emailed the ChatOn support and they're totally useless. Based of their response, they don't even know ChatOn and ChatOn Voice and Video come preloaded on my model Galaxy S4's. And this is Samsung's own ChatOn support team. If anyone knows of this problem, any help would be appreciated. If not, then I guess I'll just have to install WhatsApp or BBM. I'd prefer to stick with ChatOn as it's preloaded and it has voice and video chat.
Mine never worked
I stopped trying and started using Google Hangouts. Excellent for chats, group chats and video chats.
+1 for hangouts.

I have searched for a list of apps that are safe to freeze or uninstall. I would hate to uninstall the AT&T bloatware and it have some crazy dependency attached to it.

Of course, if you remove all of this you will lose some of the built-in functionality, but it will not hurt anything in place. If you notice after doing this that a certain setting no longer works, I think it's pretty self-explanatory which ones correlate with which settings (e.g. if you turn off QuickMemo+, QuickMemo won't work anymore). This is why I recommend freezing them with TiBU instead of fully removing them. Also, if you fully remove them you can't get an official OTA Update.
Got a new Fire HD 10 recently, got all the Google APKs installed, play store running, every app except Chrome is accessing my Google account. When I try to log in to Chrome, I get the "Account already exists on this device" error. I've tried clearing cache and data for all Google Apps, uninstalling / reinstalling chrome. Any ideas to get sync working in Chrome?

Try to factory reset, bypass Amazon registration and re-install all Google API Service APK.
NOTE: If your Fire tablet have registered with Amazon account. You need to deregister and factory reset again to use Google account.
Do not register your Fire tablet with Amazon account.

Thanks for the heads up, I tried this, deregistered, factory reset, installed:
Google Account Settings
Google Services Framework
Google Play Services
Google Play
Added account to google play, downloaded chrome, get same message about "account already exists on this device."
Tried loading chrome apk after google play (after another factory reset), same issue.
Willing to try any other ideas.

Can you install Google Contacts Sync.
You Fire tablet have registered with Amazon account that causing an issues?
Same issue
Having the same issue, got the tablet today and installed google play and am getting the account has been added message.
For users having account already on this device just wait a few hours and keep trying. This is what seems to be happening for most, including myself.

This isn’t working for me. I installed all last night. I left the device on overnight. Alexa auto updated through Google Play Store, but I still get “the account already exists on your device” when trying to log into Chrome.
I have not registered with Amazon on the device and all system updates have been blocked (no OTA). I also debloated with Amazon Toolbox.
Anyone else figure out the why and how for the can’t log into Chrome issue here?
Thx!
I had the problem, the thing that seemed too work for me is sign in to your Google account on the built in Email client, then you can sign in to Chrome.

Try to disable any Amazon's bloatware like Amazon Appstore, Silk Browser, Amazon's Email app, DCP Platform Contracts app from ADB or Fire toolbox from @Datastream33. IMPORTANT: You need to install any web browser from Google Llay like Firefox or Google Chrome before doing this to disable Silk Browser.
Have you tried messing with Chrome's permissions?
I've had issues in the past until I manually went into the settings, and enabled google account + some other permissions for Chrome, and then restarted. Sometimes it just takes time for whatever reason.
For anyone having this issue, try to upgrade your "google play services" and reboot. You may be prompted to the upgrade page when you open "play games" app (other side loaded google apps might also do the trick).
Adding my Gmail account to the built in Email app fixed my problem too. Whoop! Thank you.
F***ing Amazon and Google ought to just figure out that most people use both of their services and allow Play Store and Chrome to reside side by side with Silk and Alexa (which I don't want to use, just like I don't use Microsoft Cortana, or Siri on my iPad).
In case someone else encounters this: it was the permissions for me. Enabled contact permissions for chrome and it worked.
Let's revive this thread... I recently purchased an HD10. I added the Google Play store, downloaded several apps not currently available in the Amazon app store, so it is definitely working.
For some reason chrome just won't run... it won't even give me the option to open it once it installs.
Any ideas what to do?
