[Q] Restore to original - now updates not working?

Being my first android phone, I had a play around - used Unrevoked to root the device and install several versions on the Wildfire ROMs, but to be honest I am getting fed up having to re-install everything every time there is a bug fix, so thought I would go back to the stick rom. So I decided to restore my original backup which worked fine, only problem now is there is an update to download and install. When I try to install the update it boots into clockwork recovery and so the update does not go ahead. Any ideas on how so solve this problem? Voda unlocked UK device
BTW:- Thanks for the guys who put all the work into the custom roms, this is not a criticism of their work - its just I want to go back to a fully working system. Cheers

Hi, you have to rename the zip file : "update.zip" and put it on your SD card. Then, you choose it in recovery.

The update is downloaded automatically by the OS it's not something I have downloaded manually - Do you know where the system would download the file?

It downloads to sdcard/downloads folder i think.

Thanks guys, yes the upgrade was downloaded to that folder - it took a few attemtps to apply but worked.
So if I wanted to get rid of the clockovery pieces will I need to apply one of the RUU shipped roms? There is not one listed for voda (english) but would it be safe to apply the latest WWE ?

[Q] [Help]how to flash custom rom to a mx2 CN version?

well,these days i got a secondhand mx2 CN version,but the things don't go like what i thought cause there's something wrong with the flyme accout,it always say locked, but i don't have a passcode to unlock it. the chinese seller didn't mention this either.
so i just want to flash the phone a new rom with the BL locked,all my plan is like that:
1.extract the update.bin with the bin2zip tool,has finished
2.write the root access to the system,which contains superuser.apk and su file. finished.
3.unpack the recovery-uboot.img(i don't know which tool can do this:crying&modify the sbin\recovery file to skip the code check.then pack it back,making a new ing file. unfinished (as there is no tool for unpacking)
4.pack all file to a zip rom and transfer it 2 bin file ,flash back.
i have tried many times without the img file changes,the rom can be read by the phone,but it will crash at about 30% for the first check.
so i just want to know is there anyone has ever done this and did u got a tool to unpacking the recovery-uboot.img file,thk

[Q] Original Rom for Tattoo

Hello everyone!
So in these last couple of days I wanted to restore original ROM (Android 1.6) back from Cyanogenmod, but unfortunately I can't get any available stock ROM to work, installation of .zip s end up with "E: Unable to install............... .zip (bad)", the only one that worked so far was Cyanogenmod 7.2.0. Also I can't use any RUU to install ROM, because I'm using Linux, and RUU software doesn't work properly. I'm using Clockworkmod Recovery 5.0.2.0, my bootloader is unlocked and I have rooted phone. And I wanted to know if anyone has got original ROM's backup that would work for my recovery to reinstall original Android 1.6.

Have you tried to extract ROM zip file from ruu package installer?

If you're trying to flash donut roms try to downgrade recovery (for which i can remember from old days, very old Rom uses amend scripting language for flashing instead of edify)

Hi..I noob in this forum, so sorry if any mistake on this threat. n noob using this device.
m7 802d is so hard to me, to modify like my past devices. custom rom is rare.
my device details is :
- s-on hboot 2.49 (strongly to s-off. the only way is use sunshine)
- o.s 5.0.2
hboot 2.49 strongly to be s-off. just sunshine can make it possible. but I dont have any cc, virtual money etc. so, mostly impossible to modify this device if still s-on indeed the device was rooted, but strictly to modify.
but, after take long time surfing hunting rom for this device, I found custom rom from chinese dev. thanks to chinese dev XXOS_Developer.
after tried much custom rom, I choose this rom that fully work modify the system by using root explorer. you can make folder /system able to modify, edit, etc. you can check it from the original threat.

I didnt understand of chinese language, so I used google translator.
I didnt found any method to download this rom except used the application Shuame. you can download from site www.romzj.com
after download the application n install as usuall, run the application. and download the rom that you want.

FIRSTLY, you should have custom recovery and little knowledge about custom recovery
Just simple method to use this custom rom.
- You must have custom recovery. I used TWRP. if you dont have, you can searching from other sourch.
- make a nandroid backup.
- download custom rom from its original site and download by used Shuame application..
- place custom rom on your internal memory or external sdcard
- boot into recovery mode
- go to wipe dalvic/cache
- flash the rom by choose flash menu on recovery
- wipe dalvic/cache
prove it.
tested on M7 802d hboot 2.49 os 5.02

how to flash global rom on M681Q?

an M681Q updated itself to version 6.3.0.0A and lost all languages except English and Chinese, how do i flash a Global rom?

Have you tried manually downloading any of 6.2.0.0G/ 6.3.0.0G and put it in the phones root directory and updating by ticking with clear data?

I've tried actually, but the phone just reboot without updating or it says that the .zip file I'm using is corrupted.
If I unlock the bootloader, I'll be able to pass from Chinese Rom the the Gloal Version?
