Factory Data Rest - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

So I've had some small freezes, lag, once in a while, didn't know if it was phone/software related or my Nova Launcher that caused it. So I thought I'd reset my phone.
When I looked up inside settings-Factory data reset I read the text at the bottom where it says: erase phone memory (mark box). So I thought: marking the box would erase all my phones data, pictures, music etc.
So I didn't mark it and expected not to lose all my data when I hit reset phone. Of course I did! ? Anyway I think it's confusing to have that erase phone memory at the bottom, even though it erases the phones memory when you don't check the box.

How is this storage situation possible?

The math doesn't seem to add up to me but there could be more to it than I just don't see. Does anybody know why I don't have more free space?

backup your stuff manually and do a complete wipe. I lost some 3GB of storage space somehow but a wipe cleared that up. Loaded the same stuff back on and it was 3GB less than before.
I don't think the storage factors in the system or data partitions, which do count towards your total storage space. Try downloading an app called storage analyser. It gives pretty robust information on all partitions.

That's real odd that your external sd is completely empty... But you should set your camera to add pictures to external then move your existing pics to there. Then there's the obvious"remove all the bloat". Check the thread on that...
Yeah I removed all the bloat. I'll move all my pics but that shouldn't be close to 500 mbs
Run a clean master scan as well. Clear some cache

Try going to Settings->Applications->Application Manager->More
Tap "Show system apps"
Tilt your phone to landscape view to read more text, if not you won't be able to read the whole app name.
Scroll to com.samsung.android.sm.devicesecurity->Storage->Clear Data
Clear your cache
Switch phone off (or restart) and back on again.
If that doesn't work, try going to Settings->Applications->Application Manager->More
Tap "Reset app preferences"
Then go to Settings->Storage->Internal storage->Cached data
Delete cached data and restart your phone.
You will not lose your apps doing either of these methods so do not worry.
Let me know if that works.
first method works thank you very very much

It seems that he does have internet connection since in the 2nd pic he has 3g. Try changing apn. Or take out the sim and use a different one. If the other sim works then it may be an issue with the carrier blocking his services. He can also try updating his phone to the latest version.
Try deleting some apps as well, start with the ones recently downloaded or updated. Some apps may interfere with the software or connection.
If it still won't work backup the phone and do a full reset
