New firmware out - 32.2.A.0.305 - 6.0.1 - Xperia Z5 Compact General

Hey guys,
looks like a new 6.0.1 firmware is out (with the August security updates).
The changelog is as follows:
– The latest security enhancements included (August)
– All of our latest bug fixes and improvements
– Audio volume enhanced in notifications and ringtones
– Improved handling of Bluetooth connected devices
The current regions in which the rollout has been made are: 1298-7260 (Customized AU), 1299-9153 (iD IE) and 198-5167 (CIS RU/UA/KZ/BY).
You can download it using XperiFirm and install it using Flashtool (there are lots of tutorials online).
Cheers

Shame on Sony!! The latest security patches are oct 2016. Even my Sony Smartwatch 3 has sep 2016 patches...

No overheating fixes, no battery life fixes... Thanks Sony, I'll stay on 5.1.

Need wait someone to make a stock kernel with root support. Disable Sony RIC, DM and include DRM patch and set to permissive mode before I can use it.

Waiting for ota.
Singapore

What the heck is up with Sony? Z5C hasn't even completed a year and the security patch updates is way behind. At least fix the damn camera issues on AOSP and provide better support maybe then people won't turn away from you.

Honestly I'm personally surprised that they are only a few months behind. I would imagine that the amount of testing/QA/bureaucratic red tape to get this update out the door is enough to make updates late. Keep in mind that when the unsupported roms/devs brick your phone or their updates result in loss of features there is no recourse.
I am not saying its a great situation but I do appreciate that the updates are still coming. I also appreciate the time Sony is investing to keep these updates coming. I just hope that we can all appreciate the effort from the Sony devs.

Is the direct share issue fixed?

Big thanks but your kernel is elf not img. Can I flash twrp.img with fastboot command prompt after flash your kernel? or elf comes with twrp?

No,the elf does not contain twrp. You can try flashing twrp.img using cmd and fastboot. I will make a kernel with twrp. Will keep you posted.
If you have problem flashing elf then try flashing the same after renaming the kernel to kernel.img
I hope it works.

Now you don't have to install twrp manually. I have merged recovery with the kernel.
Download the same from attachements.

The rollout might be in phases. I think you will receive the update in a week.

Does anyone else have a problem installing this update ?
I can download it the phone restarts (startup seems normal) and I get an error saying "could not be installed"
I even tried a factory reset.

The new firmware 28.0.A.8.260 is rolling out!

Good news, seems that the new FW 28.0.A.8.260 is rolling out today! First devices got that update in xperia firm, so lets hope for bugfix and better touch response!
Just downloaded and flashed via flashtool/xperia firm ..... no MM ... minor system update with bugfixes ... nothing new here ... Better performance scrolling, wiping etc. No more lags with nova launcher. Touch also seems better on first sight.
Thank you ! One question, seems that pc companion update is not working today...update check doesn´t work, maybe problems on sony´s side?
It offered me the update here in Austria with Bootloader unlocked Generic German FW .... But i couldn install because of the unlock so i went the flashtool/xperia firmware route ....now i miss the root on the new update -.-
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Free mobile app
Youre right bro!!! Seems good news....
Fingers crossed hoping a better keyboard touch response and optimized RAM managing.
Edit: After installing it, noticed an smoother screen scrolling and an AWESOME touch response, even with a 0.3mm thick tempered glass screen protector, the keyboard response is Perfect!!!
Good Job Sony.
Just Rooting W/O unlocking left
Hi !
Do you think i can skip .251 and wait the Z4 will propose me the .260 directly OTA ?
Or should I first go through .251 to be able to get to 260
I have not yet upgraded to 251 because of the touch issues...
Thanks.

It should be no problem to flash directly to .260 with flashtool if the touch issues are better. Will update my device today with flashtool as pc companion don´t give me that option since yesterday...maybe the servers from sony mobile are not reachable within pc companion but flashtool and/or xperiafirm is the answer

androplus kernel is working on update, so I really hope that someone will make a flashable -maybe prerooted- image for TWRP.
I finally rooted+recovery after months of waiting, I'm really too lazy to restart from a FTF
One day after update my FW i think i can say it´s an improvement in touch! No problems so far will hope this problem is finally resolved!
Does anyone know if it would be safe to flash another region firmware to my tablet?
Needing this update but hasn't been released to me yet.
Mine has carrier branded firmware, they are infamous for releasing updates VERY slowly, if at all.
If it is safe, which region would you suggest?
I live in Australia.

Choose any FTF with should work with your preferred character set.
With the LTE versions there could be some differences with enabled radio bands or not. I would try a HK version first.
Head over to xperia cross devices. There you'll find a thread about unlocking all radio bands. Dunno if it works with SGP771.

I am having trouble getting it to boot into flashmode.
Every time I try, it just turns on?
I have reinstalled drivers, completed a factory reset.
It is driving me crazy!
Any ideas?
EDIT: I got it. Ended up holding down volume down while it booted off and it worked.
Thanks for answering all my questions

No .260 in the UK yet so I fancy "flashing". Just one question, I understand that I can use firmware from almost anywhere but what does "customized" mean in the Xpreifirm tool? I have an unbranded SGP712 so don't suddenly want to be locked into a vendor's bloatware!
Thanks
A word of caution if flashing an ftf. Make sure MXTP is disabled - especially if you reset after flashing or you will brick your tablet. This because I was stupid and forgot, resulting in my tablet having to go away for repair. Point of note - Sony UK offered to fix it but quoted 7 - 10 days turnaround. O2 did it in 3.

New 32.2.A.0.253 firmware rolling out

Quite a few regions rolling the firmware out today.
Apparently has "bug fixes and improvements" and "improved handling of bluetooth connected devices".
hello
can we just install the OTA on a rooted phone?
or i will need to root the new kernel again?
There are reports that the new firmware works okay with the .224 kernel - so you could install the OTA and reflash old kernel to retain root. It is also possible to use Rootkernel to patch the new .253 kernel but this will break TWRP until it is updated
yea that wat i was reading,
i still have my .224 kernel ready so will be easier
but curious to know what change in the two kernels
Hi, i've recieved the new firm today, via OTA. Everything seems to work fine. I have a doubt, i'ts possible to enable vibration on notifications, calls, etc in the new Stamina mode? as in lollipop? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english!

I've just update firmware today and the size is about 48 mb..
I don't about the effect of this newest firmware..
Got the new update, battery drain is HUGE, over 20% over night even with stamina mode on
Fine batterylife with new firmware
Ringtone sound
Do you know on 32.2.A.0.253 what about low incoming ringtone sound ...is it fix? Please!!!
I like dt2w and i want to use it but screen opening in my pocket, proximity check on dt2w not included in this update yet, this subject talked in sony forum and here but i think sony not listening users, i used samsung,lg and sony devices, i think Lg best about this because they are including user's customizations in the world with update.
I wish I never had rooted and flashed a custom rom on my Z5 C. Now I can't get back to stock
I can confirm Xposed and root work great with the new patch 5.0 RC1.

You can go back by flashing the original firmware. You'll only have DRM issues which can be fixed/worked around by flashing a patched kernel.
Battery drain with this new update, stamina mode is on, little browsing with WiFi, listening to music etc

Nougat - 32.3.A.0.372 release started

https://xpericheck.com/device/SGP771
https://xpericheck.com/device/SGP712
just one customization for each model at the moment
Split screen support just made this tablet even better if that was even possible.
Anyone got the FTF? I am having a little trouble building it.
Nevermind, I had to use flashtool-0.9.18.6-windows to build the FTF (which then failed to flash)
So I upgraded back to flashtool-0.9.23.1-windows and it has flashed
Android 7.0
December security update.

Major drawback with 7.0 and the keyboard
There is no option to select different language from the keyboard like it was with CTRL - Spacebar before. In the settings also for the physical keyboard you can only select 1 language.

Once you get the notification for system update on your phone, it will automatically be available on Hisuite.
Make sure to back up user data before flashing any update as you may need to manually perform a factory reset before using the new update. I own an FRD-L14 US version and i am on the latest update for my model thanks to Huawei Pc suite. All other methods always fail after 5 - 10%.
To update using Hisuite, simply launch the PC software and click on update after properly connecting your phone. I have been referring to only the PC version as i can't vouch for the phone software.
NB: Don't forget to flash stock boot and recovery if you've modified your device prior to using Hisuite otherwise it'll fail after reboot to recovery.
Best of luck, Cheers!

thanks for awesome guide i will definetly try this:good::highfive:
You will get the OTA some weeks later. Until then, you will not be able to flash the update through any official means (like using HiSuite, TWRP, erecovery, etc.). If your bootloader is unlocked, try my "Flashing unapproved Firmwares" guide for Honor 8 in Guides section. It will work flawlessly.

sorry about the late reply, but yes 12hr battery global. for screen on time i get 4-5hrs usually, i just got this phone a few months ago as a FRD-L04. i rebranded because of how slow updates come out on the L04, which was my real only complaint with this phone. battery life is awesome and emui is sleek and nice compared to other OEM android roms.
i don't really care for much about SOT because my whole goal is to minimize that as much as possible. i use a moto 360 daily so most of my notifications are going to my watch and my phone stays in my pocket.
other than that, this update is just a security patch.

Flashed Oreo via adb, now stuck with No Command screen

Please help, I also tried installing via sdcard and still fails. Downloaded about almost everything in this forum and still bricked.

Before flashing the Oreo beta today, my last OTA update was the 01/08. Flashed the Oreo beta via adb, then every boot just gives me the No Command screen. Tried installing the updates, the official Oreo, still failed. Tried using the OST, the NEXT button is always grayed out.
Thanks
Crap. Why did you decide to flash beta on top of Jan patch??? It can be installed on top of Dec patch only.
If installing Oreo release via sd card does not help and you stuck in boot loop with Oreo release bootloader you need to reflash Nougat with new OST tool.

To release the official oreo firmware nokia will take some time
Even you can judge, if something is launched recently, then its parts aren't available at the same time in the market

Hi everyone! My phone is alive again, someone fixed it for less than $10. Now the problem is, it won't get any system updates. Here's the details:
Android 7.1.1
Patch: June 1, 2017
Kernel: 3.18.31-perf
Build: 00WW_3_320
When I click to check system update, it doesn't do anything. Which should I follow now? Please please, give me the thread to follow so I don't brick my phone again lol thanks a lot guys!

Can you please send me the build version detail again, by using the build.prop editor app available on play store.
If it shows TA-1025
Try clearing google services framework, you will get update till October,
If you don't get OTA
then go straight to install all the OTA present on the mirror OTA thread
But this time via sd card, remember sideloaded doesn't work on nokia 6
Enjoy
Hit thanks button if you find this useful
Happy flashing

You will need to install them one by one, through sd card, not through adbsideloaded
And link here https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ink-ota-monthly-updates-t3733784/post75162860
For OTA, Dont download the cross one attached on screenshot
