When I receive a gmail notification, screen turns on.
"Previews in pop-ups" is disabled, "notifications on lock screen" is disabled. It only happens with gmail, other apps doesn't wake screen.
Any idea?
It was a problem with light flow, that wakes screen for gmail notifications..

1) Where can i set the calender's notification? Also where can i set it so that i pop up a screen at the alarm time, not just a small icon in the notification bar?
2) Any way to disable the samsung calender or make the google calender the default when creating a new event? I hate Samsung for adding its own calender and contact apps.
3) When i get a text message, the notification turn on screen and wont turn off, I waited for about 5 mins. I checked the screen timeout and it is set at 30 secs. Anyway to make it turn off screen after a few seconds? or not turn on the screen at all?
Found a fix for the screen wont turn off issue. I believe this is a bug with the phone. If i turn on the Puzzle Lock then it work just fine. If i turn off the Puzzle Lock then the screen wont turn off as described.
Anyone else know the answer for the other two questions?
This related to my S4 active, but I'm hoping the S4 is similar in this respect. I get a calendar reminders all day, and I don't dismiss them immediately as I often attend to some of them a bit later.
So for me the LED notification is useful to alert my that a new calendar reminder has gone off, but after I unlock the screen, swipe down the notification bar and select calendar notifications to see the list of notifications, and then lock the screen, I expect the blinking LED to stop, until a new reminder comes along.
Unless I'm losing my memory this has been the case with the S3 and other similar phones I've owned, where if you swipe done and look at the notification then lock the screen, the blinking stops. I tried it with email, and that works, if I just swipe down to see that there's an email notification and without dismissing lock the screen, the blinking stops, so not sure why it doesn't work with the calendar. Any ideas?
I also noticed the blinking is fast for the calendar and slow for gmail, is that on purpose?
Thanks.

Have you tried unchecking the "Missed LG Emails" option under Notification LED.
I'm not sure about that but I use light flow and thats how I disable the led for different gmail accounts and still get the icon in status bar.
I have that unchecked and still get the green led flash for new Gmail messages. I have used light flow in the past and liked it. I tried it on this phone and it didnt seem to work properly. I had the led disabled for Gmail in light flow settings but it still flashed. I suppose because notifications were turned on in the Gmail app itself.
The other strange thing with light flow on this phone... In settings, I have notifications in order of whats being used first. Even though I have them both turned off, google now and gmail were at the top, indicating that they were on.

For gmail setting, same thing happened to me but then I digged deeper and I think inside the gmail notification settings in light flow for that specific account there was an "inbox" option I entered and disabled it there. I also have "Missed LG emails" off.
1. Is there any way to prevent the screen from turning on when theres a notification from messaging ?
2. The privacy feature when disabled shows your text message on the lock screen ,Turning it off the message details get turned off in the drop down bar as well.
I noticed they added custom notification tones for ringer and messaging in the contacts app so I want to stop using SMS popup but these things are rather annoying.
So Gmail won't stop vibrating. I want texts to vibrate, but not gmail. I do however want gmail notifications, just not vibration notifications. The hardware slider is set to silent.
I've gone to Gmail -> Settings -> Account, Sound & Vibrate and unchecked "Vibrate." I've also changed Sound to "Silent" in those settings. It still vibrates.
Any ideas? Any root app I could use to control vibration permissions?
Thanks!
Ok looks like setting the Sound to "None" in the gmail account settings stops the vibrate, but also stops the LED notification -_-. I would like the LED notification, but no vibrate. Why is this so hard?
I have the same issue, Nexus 5x. Can't get the vibrate to stop independently of the LED notification. I'm not at all impressed with Oreo, so far.
