Recently purchased a used, locked, Canadian note 4, and see "Unknown" values for IMEI and IMEI SV on any CyanogenMod ROMs I install: Resurrection Remix, and Emotion AOSP.
However, when I restore to stock ROM, using a backup I created before rooting, the IMEI and IMEI SV are reported as expected.
Does this issue relate to my current baseband: N910W8VLU1DPE2? Would this be fixed if I updated using Kies, or flashed the latest bootloader? I am running on build MMB29M.NN910W8VLU1DPE2
Thanks in advance for any pointers or tips

Hello everyone i recently installed an custom rom on my note 3 SM-n900,the rom is called vm 14 is like a porting to Galaxy S5 setting with the new touchwiz, but the problem is that i got bored using this rom and when i tried to get back to stock rom from samsung it changes my imei to null/null.
So i tried to revert to custom rom once again and it works.Imei is stable not errors at all.
Any help how to revert to stock rom and to fix my imei ?
Thanks in advance.
It's known issue after VN ROM V14/14.1
Read this, perticularly post #2
In short - If you have flashed VN14/14.1 ever
1.Everytime you flash any other ROM you have to flash NE1 modem otherwise you won't have IMEI
OR
2.If you have any EFS backup made prior to flashing VN 14/14.1, just restore it and you are again free to flash any other ROM without loosing IMEI
Greetings,
I guess that I flashed the wrong region stock rom for my sm-n900
Imei, baseband, and all the other information that should appear at status is showing unknow.
I found on my download history, a rom that I flashed about 3 months ago, the link was broken, and I don't have this file anymore. The filename was: N900XXUDNC1_N900OJVDNA3_XFE.zip
The current rom that I flashed is: N900XXUENH1_N900OJVENG2_XSG.zip (gues that is wrong region for my phone)
Any way to discover what is the correct rom that I should download? (now that most information shows as unknown at android status)
Btw, I was 'trying' to fix the no signal/no sim that suddenly appeared on my phone. Planning to rule out all the software problems before going for hardware.
thank you!
Hi Guys.
I'm using Cyanogenmod 12 29012015 Build from Alberto96.
yesterday I went on and tried updating the modem to find a modem that will be more battery friendly.
my original modem was JKFND1. after i flashed XXUGNL1 I'm experiencing very weird issues like
NO DATA at specific regions or SPEED LIMIT of 25 KBPS.
when I tried to revert back to JKFND1 im getting no Reception at all, and on about device i get baseband unknown.
I also tried XXUGNF6 with the same results.
the only baseband that works is XXUGNL1. is it possible that XXUGNL1 baseband change something on my EFS ?
I tried restore to different rom backups I have with touchwiz UI.
and the results is the same. only XXUGNL1 works.
Any Advice guys ?
Flash original firmware with Odin maybe? I think it comes with stock baseband. Then re-root your phone and do whatever you want to do
!! Sm-n900k !! Imei null / baseband unknow / sw rev check failed fused 4 > binary 3
Hi Guys!
I have a SM-N900K (KT version - South Korea) Galaxy Note 3. I upgraded it to Lollipop 5.0.1 and now IMEI is NULL. I can not fix it. I don't have any EFS backup.
I tried to downgrade by flashing stock 4.4.2 rom : N900KKKUENF2_N900KKTTENF2_N900KKKUENF1_HOME.tar.md5 but got error: SW Rev Check Failed Fused 4 > Binary 3.
I flashed with Stock 5.0 Rom: ALL_KTT_N900KKKU0GOC4_N900KKTT0GOC4_CL4362511_QB4250245_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 and another Rom: GALAXY_NOTE3_N900K_SPACEX_LOLLIPOP_MANHIT.tar.md5 but still same IMEI Problem!!!
There are not much Custom Rom for SM-N900K. So I tried to flash Sm-N9005 Custom Roms but there are always "Could not do normal boot!" problem.
I live in TURKEY! So I can't send the phone to South Korea. I gave my phone to a phone repairman. He couldn't fix it, even if he used up-to-date box.
I also looked for how to unlock bootloader. But there is none as I saw.
Please help me guys. I couldn't downgrade to 4.4.2 KitKat and still have IMEI null problem.
Thanks in advance...

Why did you flash other variants roms? Because if you flashed right rom it would not brick it and lose imei.
Have you tried efs recovery method somewhere here at q&a forum?

I did not tried. I will look it up. If you have any helpful link about efs recovery, can you post it here?

I have same issues, but cannot find the way to fix it. Did you fixed it, can you share ?
Thanks
I had this problem 3 or 4 years ago. I found the solution that time. The solution to this problem is kernel if I remember correctly. You have to find a suitable kernel. When you find a suitable kernel for sm-n900k you can use many custom rooms.
Another thing is;
You have to install a custom rom then before starting the phone, flash suitable kernel and the you are good to go.
I hope this information helps you.

I successfully installed a CM13 ROM for a different variant than my phone. Installed ROM jfltexx variant intended for a Gt19505 model S4 on an i337z S4. It worked and now the device model in phones settings shows listed as GT19505.
ROM works fine, phone dialer functions but I read that I should update the radio firmware. I have had a call or two drop off with no ringing sound but call is apparently going through but I can not hear person on receiving end.
So what baseband modem firmware do I update to? The true hardware i337z or the GT19505 that the phone is working as? I went from Kit Kat 4.4.2 to Marshmallow 6.0..
Baseband Version after installing CM13 jfltexx remains the original i337ztuuboa3. Everything else has changed to reflect CM13 ROM. Build, Kernal etc.
I'm baffled so any help would be greatly appreciated
