Weird question - AT&T Note 7 Questions & Answers

I noticed this morning something weird. I plug my phone to charge at night and leave it plugged in all night. I installed a glass screen protector, its not perfect but its ok. This morning when i unplugged it I noticed the middle had some rainbow action going but it didn't have that before. it has gone away and its back to normal.
My theory is the battery expanted pushing the screen up to touch the glass. My guess
Dont know if that is normal but it makes me think.
Ill see if it does it again
Thoughts?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk

(Q) is it normal for these screens.

Never owned a IPS screen or so.
Is it normal to have yellow tint on the edges when having a black background ? When I have a white background its pure white ( saw someone with yellow tint on white background) .

Nope. That is one of the problems that some users are facing. You should RMA your 7.
It would be pretty bogus if that was how ALL IPS screens were, lol.

True. After hours or researched. I came up with not much to go off by lol.
PC screens with IPS screens were saying that yellow tint were cause by a glue not being dry out evaporated yet and the more you use it they tend to just go away and get Better. I guess iPad 2 had similar problems. Most of them advice to use it more and they will go away so I might try that . I'd hate to be without this for a week to 2 weeks. But then again I got mine at Sams but their put and no way of knowing when they we will one.
Didn't happen doh until I got some heavy duty gaming last night. So might have gotten hot and was evaporating the left over glue? Lol correct me if I am wrong but that's what I gather so far..

I don't have it in mine and don't know much about it but my roommates IPS monitor NEVER had a yellow tint.
And Google will do an advanced RMA where they send you one and put a hold on your credit card until you send the other one back.

What's their number or so. I couldn't find it or just looking at the wrong place lol. I'm sure they'll charge me and just bill out back correct? After I send that one back.

Is your screen lift getting worse?

Hey guys,
I bought my nexus 7 a few days ago and noticed a very minor screen lift on the left center side.
After examining it again today, I think I might have an extension of the screen lift.
Is anybody else experiencing the same problem?
Yep...

Anyone else?
yep, dont even bother sending it in..it'll come in worse shape(ive sent it in twice, first time the glass came back pretty much separated, second time they fixed the separation, but killed 30% of the touch response)
I've a case that closes kinda tight (blue-rex slim case)
My screen separation has been better since I first got it.
If it's the glue getting warm, then the case is holding it flat until it cools?
Mine started with a lift on the left side. Today I'm getting creaking noises on both sides if I apply light pressure.
*Sent from N7*
Mine has stayed the same. Not horrible but there in the same place as yours.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yup, gets consistently worse. My one now has so much give on the left hand side that the plastic creaks and clacks together as I hold it.
I'll be RMA-ing this thing every few weeks for the life of the warranty I think.
I just got a c8 a few days ago.. haven't noticed screen lift as of yet. Should I try to exchange it for a c9 while I still can?

So you're saying that every n7 with screen lift has it out of the box, and it doesn't happen after using it for a little while?

Ah, ok. I was under the assumption that it was a gradual issue. I do get a line that flashes through the screen periodically. Is that the screen flicker on this tablet? On my s2 it doesn't look like that. I just want to make sure I have a good device. Every time I buy something I always find out later on that it's the one with the bad screen, bad emmc, or bad whatever else lol

Same as I.
Mine had a bit of screen lift but I put a case on it that hides it and it hasn't bothered me since...

I've had screen lift since day 1 when I got mine from the preorder and mine hasn't gotten any worse. I haven't tried any of the fixes for the separation for fear of stressing the glass. But I am tempted to glue it.
Where's everyone getting their C9 from? I only see C8 everywhere I go.
i sent mine back as soon as i noticed it, new one is fine

My n4 died while I was sleeping!

Yep, I woke up to a completely unresponsive nexus 4. Tried charging it and nothing happens. Also tried holding the power button, using the bootloader, but nothing will make this phone turn on.
Noticed just a little while ago that the lense for the camera and flash have collected moisture inside. Could running the phone on battery until it ran out of power create moisture in the phone?
Sounds kinda crazy, but it's the only thing I can think of. There is no other reason why the phone would have moisture on the inside. It wasn't raining, nothing in my apartment is wet, and neither is the outside of the phone.
Was using stock rooted with matrix 2.0 kernel.
Update:
The moisture inside dried out so I tried powering the phone on and again it did nothing. Then I plugged it in and the led indicator turned solid red.
I didn't know what that meant so I called tech support and that guy was even more clueless than I was. He hasn't even heard of the blinking red led that some people from this forum got after running antutu overclocked, but at least they can return to stock and relock the bootloader.
He said I could get it replaced, but idk if they're gonna give me grief over being unlocked and rooted.
Update 2:
Now the red led no longer lights up when charging. The phone powers on and everything functions except the screen. Even the buzzing from the ear speaker is there like it was when the screen functioned.
I powered it down now in hope that it will work later tonight.
Does anyone have an idea of what could have caused this?

Oh man sorry to hear and see that. Maybe something burnt out inside and the smoke couldn't escape causing condensation? I dunno, but hope it gets sorted out..

There is a similar problem with nexus 7 running android 4.2 .. What that required for correction was holding the power button for 30 or more seconds .. I repeat 30 or more seconds and not mere 5 or 10 seconds . that trick worked for me .. Just give it a try
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I already tried that. For now I think I'll have to just let it dry.
I would still like to know why only the inside of the phone has moisture and nothing else.

Thanks for the wishful thinking, but I don't know how I'm gonna get it replaced if I can't return to stock and lock the bootloader.

If it isn't even turning on that might not even be a problem how would they know if rooted
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
True. I say you put it in an airtight container with some dessicant and see if that helps the moisture. If not, give it a shot and send it back. Sorry to see that happened to a brand new phone.

I don't think so, it's just me and my girlfriend here and we were both sleeping. I don't think that would harm the phone either. Anyway, the outside of the phone was completely dry the whole time. No other areas are affected.
The phone I'm using now is an lg thrill and it's been through rain, snow, left outside and it still works. I don't understand why the n4 would do this just by sitting next to my bed.

Santa Claus came early
In all seriousness, did you take it in a moist room like your bathroom? Or outside on a rainy day?
what about the bag o' rice trick?
Humidifier running? Was it on the night stand maybe next to a cold drink that could've had some condensation? Was the room exceptionally cold (maybe that combined with the warmth of the phone caused the condensation?)?
Really weird. Hope you get it sorted. Chances are though, if it shut off because of the condensation, it probably burnt something out. Generally, if it's off and gets wet, you have a better chance of it surviving than when it gets wet and shuts off.
Could it be a battery leak?

Nope, it was dry in my pocket all day. I even got good battery life at
4hr screen on and ~14hr total. I left it unplugged next to my bed with nothing next to it to see how much longer it would last.

It was on the night stand, but nothing liquid was nearby. And my room is always at a constant temperature. Neve had any problems b4 with condensation.
It did have a low battery when I went to sleep and I left it to see what kind of battery drain it would have by morning. I thought only the battery was dead at first, but it's been on the charger now for about 15 min now with the solid red led.

It would be my guess too that the battery is leaking and just RMA it. As it doesn't power up they will never know you rooted it and they will most likely just trash it.
OP updated.
The phone powers on now and everything functions except the screen.

Nexus Ten screen messed up after power goes out

I live in the Midwest and a few weeks ago we had a very bad storm that forced us to go into the basement. Power goes out storm finally thecalms down. I go upstairs to get my nexus and there are two blue spots on the screen and a terrible screen bleed at the bottom. It was plugged in to a pogo cable I left it was fine and came back it was all messed up. I've dropped the slippery tablet before but never had anything like this happen. Is there a possible fix? What are my options, it drives me nuts seeing that on my nice screen.

Could be a short circuit which occurred when the power when off and on.

+1 with this. Definitely sounds like some sort of electrical event happened.

Left my phone screen on, overnight, on paused youtube video. Will it cause burn in?

Just as the title says.
I left it overnight, about 4 or 5 hours. I fell asleep and the screen didnt turn off. Seems pretty bad, I hear a lot of bad stuff about AMOLED burn in.
Have I damaged or screwed up my display?
You tell us. Do you notice any burn in?

I dont at the moment, no, but Ive never had an AMOLED phone before.
Should it be immediately noticeable? Is one night enough time to even cause burn in?
Thats what Im trying to ask here.
It would be noticeable right away. If you don't notice anything, then more than likely there's no burn in
