I was wondering if the capacitive buttons have haptic feedback (the vibrate when you press them). Seems like a stupid question but I haven't found the answer anywhere.
I'm not sure if they are enabled by default, but there is definitely an option for it and it works (on the A2017G, but I doubt the US version would lack that feature).

But that "vibrate on touch" means the screen or the capacitive buttons? Because I think all phones have that, but since the capacitive buttons were added in the last minute in this device and they aren't backlit, maybe they don't vibrate either.

It's for the capacitive buttons.
When I have "Vibrate on touch" turned on, pressing a capacitive button makes the phone vibrate.
When I have it turned off, pressing the capacitive buttons does not make the device vibrate.

That's what I wanted. Thank you so much!
Is it normal for phones to have it off by default? When I first got my A7 that bothered the hell out of me and immediately turned it out. My phones before the A7 were an S5 and a Galaxy Nexus so it felt extremely bad having no haptic feedback enabled even momentarily.

Completely forgot that option.
Now is much better.
Thanks!

I would like to know how to cancel it..
When I am walking or moving my hand, the screen will auto turn on the screen, and my face always touch the "End Call" key....
Can I remove this funtion??
thanks!
Anyone can help me?
How can you accidentally tap the End Call key when there's an onscreen sliding panel protecting it?
...the screen isn't designed to auto turn on... it's designed to auto turn off.

The end call button is below the "onscreen sliding panel" so that doesn't help very much.
I want to turn the vibration off of the bottom row of buttons. I do not see a haptic or vibration toggle or option that will turn this off in the 2.2.1 system version. Just want some direction. It is not under Settings > Sound.
+1
Sent from my Atrix using XDA App
I'm sure that would also save a lot of batterylife ..
This has been asked/answered in this forum many times now. There is nothing from Motorola to provide this functionality. The only solution right now is to have your Atrix rooted and then download and install the the Dell StreakVibrations.apk
Once that software is installed you'll be able to disable ALL vibrations on your phone. This will turn off the haptic feedback on the bottom 4 buttons as well. Everytime you reboot your phone you'll still have to re-run the StreakVibrations software to disable vibrations again.
This software allows you to toggle all vibrations off/on.
NOTE: while vibrations are OFF, silent alerts that depend on vibrations will NOT work, like "Silent Mode", aka "Meeting Mode", etc.

Thanks old chap...
This post is old....But the latest 2 versions of the AT&T updates have the option to toggle haptic feedback under sounds right above SD card notifications.
Hi,
As anyone figured out how to disable the haptic/vibration feedback? I've gone to settings>sound>unchecked vibrate on touch but it doesn't seem to have worked. I also noticed that when I turned the volume all the down using either the volume rocker or the touch screen control, the vibrate icon appeared in the top right hand corner.
I received my N10 yesterday and think it's a great device despite some teething issues (which I hope an update in the near future will sort out!), but I want to figure out if the issue above is hardware related, in which case I'll ask for a replacement.

Did you try a reboot after changing the setting?
Also, when you turn the volume all the way down, it automatically turns on vibrate for notification. That's what that icon means.

I've rebooted after changing the setting but it still hasn't turned off. As for the automatic vibrate, I thought I could turn off the vibration even though if I turned the volume all the way down, kinda like selecting the silent option on your phone and turning vibrate off.
i can get sound on the phone dial pad but dont see option to enable vibration which i used to have on HTC and liked it. Is it possible to enable? or vibration pads dont extend beyond bottom of the phone where soft keys are?
anyone?

Go to dialer, menu, settings, ringtone and keypad, if you have power save on there will be no feedback
power save is always enabled but haptic feedback is unticked
went to ringtones and keypad tones, vibration set to basic call and keypad tones an enabled
still no vibration on the dial pad, everywhere else it works

The vibration is so slight you might not feel it, sounds silly but press the dialer and put the phone to your ear see if you can here it vibrating

you are right, i increased haptic to maximum now (it was only one level down before) i can feel it much better now.
Maybe its just me but it feels that the soft button keys on bottom get even stronger feedback, perhaps its the way they are positioned.
I was playing around with my wife's G6 tonight and I noticed every time I made a touch or anything in the phone there was no haptic vibrate going on. But before her phone always had a very nice haptic feedback on it.
I checked all settings like sound had vibrate to tap on I went to other settings with haptic feedback and they looked to all be checked and enabled.
So why isn't her phone vibrating ?
No one has an idea what's up ?
I went through all Settings options, turned off and back on Vibrate to tap. Still doesn't work.

It could be that the vibration motor is dead or damaged...

Haptic actuators don't use motors.
Make sure your battery saving is turn off, turning on battery saving will disable haptic feedback.
