Unlock GSM phones

I know the details on how to flash GSM phones over from one company to another aka sprint phones on verizon networks and so far, but now I want to know how you can unlock gsm phones
I know there are calculators out there but does anyone know how these calcs work?

Do you mean SIM unlock? there are serveral tool online you can down load which actually do that for you.

CDMA doesn't use a sim.

There is CDMA Workshop or QPST that can do what you want.
What you have to do depends on the phone (If CDMA Workshop works it will be easier).
Look at this as an example.

Sorry when I wrote this I was in the middle of flashing a CDMA phone my Mistake, but yeah I am looking for an universal unlock program for either at&t or tmobile.

It's for a5ul 4G LTE in only Thailand. It's might not works with others model.
If I updated already I'll upload with CWM version ASAP.

I got OTA in Europe too.

Just installed it, nothing changed much actually visualy except notification bar. The most annoying think is when u use a card view for recent apps, there is no clear all apps option, or i didnt see it maybe

any one for Indian version (a5dwg) got update ?

Sense 7 would be nice

You can delete files , on the memory card from file manager

I think it's a same model as Thai single sim

For model "a5ul" Thailand user, you must use "Sunshine 3" to back to "S-Off" "UNLOCKED" "FULL UNROOT" "Stock Recovery".
I'm not developer for this device. I think it's can't root and install any custom recovery now (same as bug in specific recovery for AOSP Base, CM12 ROM)
You shouldn't flash boot.img cus to BRICK device.

Just bought the devices (XT1643) from Amazon UK and got the Indian variant (baseband M8952_70004.04.03.32R ATHENE_INDIA_DSDS_CUST).
But living in France, i can't connect to LTE Carrier !
Is there a way to change the baseband to an european one ?

i have the same Problem. I'm from Germany and I've the Indian variant XT 1643 ,too. I have read a lot of in this Forum but I don't have found an Information
to Change the LTE Bands. Has anyone a solution to Enable German LTE Band. The Model for Germany is the XT1642.

Here's what Frequency Check says about specific compatibility of XT1643 (not very sure how accurate they are) :

AFAIK, unless they're locked on OS or firmware level, the device radio needs to support bands you're looking to unlock.
You may also want to check with your carrier, given online information may not be up to date.

select phone information
then on top right you will see 3 dots. open it and select radio band.
it has many options select what you want but careful.

Also i have looked and I need The LTE Band with 800Mhz, but The XT1643 doesn't Support it. It is possible to unlock LTE 800 in The XT1643? The XT 1642 Supports LTE 800.

It may be too late to reply but you can change it using a script. I did it with mine and the network problem was fixed to Indian baseband

How did you do that?

guys, there is a very specific instruction on xda (please search) to unlock all baseband, for all regions, be careful

I have changed the NV codes in an US baseband phone (XT1644), to try to add one EU LTE band that was missing (band 20). The "change" was saved, but the band is still not working.
Some hardware pieces (RF amps) are also needed to be in the hardware for that to happen.
Now, the bands for the Indian model are: 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 8(900), 40(2300)
In EU the most used LTE bands are 3 (1800), 7 (2600) and in rural areas 20 (800MHz, low bandwidth).

I doubt that band 7 can be added.

English - India Language is missing

Hello Everybody
I have been wondering about poor performance in Google Assistant when pronouncing regional names in the search query,
I have later found that English - United States was selected as system language and i tried to change it to English - India.
To my disappointment, English - India was not found in the list of available languages.
This omission not makes Google Assistant to not understand the conversation properly, but it also made Google Assistant to speak in US English.
I am really disappointed in not being able to use English - India as system language in an Indian Edition of LG G6 H870DS

Checked with LG India Customer Support and found that English India was not available as my phone was not manufactured in India.
I am planning to install Indian firmware in my phone.

And if you install the Indian firmware, will it work?
So, it is expected that once a local firmware is installed, G Asssitant will work?

Yeah, absolutely as Google Assistant would use the vocal data of my country to recognize the spoken phrase. so, accuracy would be much much better.
