Hello,
Few weeks ago I saw on some website news and photos of a dual sim Galaxy Note 2. The market of the Dual sim is much more dynamic in Indian and china that's why the news said that this dual sim should be for china market and especially for China Unicom.
So would somebody have more consistent news about this dual sim : would it appear ? When ? Where ?
Best regards
Chinese market only
Hello, I already now but I did not see any confirmation if this news is fake or not.
Would it be SIM Unlocked in China, possibility to choose other language etc..
Hmm that would be interesting, especially if its the "international" one. I dont know what kind of cell service they use in china. Will it only work then in China or worldwide with standard GSM and 3G74G and so on?
I already a HTC Desire V bought in China (dual SIM) and it works perfectly in Europe in GSM and data. So from my point of view no difficulties in terms of compatibility.
And how can you determine if it's a real Samsung and no copy mb

Not sure to understand the meaning of your question :
First : the rumoiur and photos of the dual sim never been confirmed by Samsung
Second : if it is real and this dual SIM note 2 is released, don't worry I perfectly know where to buy an original one in China !

I'm from Indonesia and I want a dual SIM NOTE 2 !
But hopefully it's going to be CDMA and GSM network dual sim. Similar to HTC desire VC. But it would be good if the phone is capable to register to 3G of each network (EVDO and HSPA).
Sadly, there's not much news of it now. Maybe they scrapped the idea because it's just too power hungry.

Dual sim Galaxy Note 2 have two different types of version. One from China Unicom, it support for WCDMA/GSM. The other one from China Telecom, it support for CDMA/GSM.It's release date in mid-October.
So, does it mean that the wcdma/china Unicom is not compatible with European network, and the CDMA/china telecom is ok,for,European network ?
Other question : do you have a Link to these informations ?

Rumor have the following models in China
N7102 for China Unicom, WCDMA + GSM, Dual SIM
N7108 for China Mobile, TD-SCDMA/GSM, Single SIM
N719 for China Telecom, CDMA2000 + GSM, Dual SIM
So the only one that should be compatible with Europe 3G should be the N7102 ?

Sadly, it doesn't look like there's one that supports both EVDO and HSPA at the same time.
Are this rumors confirmed yet? And what memory will they have. I am looking for the 32gb version

Hi
No unfort. you cannot unlock bands .. When you buying phone these days and you WANT 4G/LTE it is necessary that you check band compatibility first ..
Here is LTE table check freq. in your phone version and check which matches with german operators..
I don't understand really. That's from my Mobile Phone. You think works whit Vodafone or Telekom?

I'll explain
That picture what u posted shows your phone supports FDD LTE .. focus on that bcos u in EU
SO.. It says B1 B3 and B7 right ?
So now u need to know what that means
B1 - 2100 MHz
B3 - 1800 MHz
B7 - 2600 MHz
So now you know what all B means and check my table which operator has same freqs ... OK ?
So I can see that on
B1 (2100MHz) you have NONE operator supporting 2100MHz so this B1 is useless in germany ..
next ,
B3 (1800MHz) I can see two OP support ; E-Plus and Telekom so nice u have some support ..
next
B7 (2600MHz) here is again Telekom and Vodafone
So conclusion ..
Your phone will work on 4G with E-Plus ,Telekom and Voda
Your phone will never work on 4G with O2 ... bcos your phone doesnt support FDD LTE B20
Got it ?
Ok. I will try tomorrow whit Prepaid Card first. Thank you so much for your Help. Wish you nice Sunday...
Now I try the different Providers. Only E-Plus works in my City. I think Vodafone and Telekom same O2 and use Band 20 here [emoji24]

Plz confirm the sim card operation mode on oneplus two:
DSFA (Dual Sim Full Active): both SIMs can receive calls simultaneously, and you can switch between one call and the other
DSDS (Dual Sim Dual Standby): when one SIM is receiving a call, the other one is in standby. It will receive nor calls, nor SMS. It is like the second SIM is put in a phone turned off. As soon as the call ends, both will return to active state.
Thanks

Go for Asus Zenfone 2 (4GB Ram, 2.3 Intel atom, 5.5", up to 256 gb internal storage, Dual sim Full Active, very good 13 mbpixel camera).
If you are in europe is the only Full Active phone option for 4G with the band 20 (800Mhz) support (ww version).
https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/specifications/
Also is the faster phone on earth in PC mark for android the only benchmark that measures real scenarios.
One other super thing is that this phones has an intel cpu and with https://www.codeweavers.com/products
soon will be able to run windows apps.

On the page is not saying that is a dual sim active. it only says
GSM:
Main card: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Second card: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
On Lte says nothing. I wonder why Huawei is not clear say Dual sim active as Asus does at site.
A friend bought the European dualsim model of Mate-7 (6"). The phone was supporting the Band 20 at 800Mhz but it was Dual Sim Standby. Only the chineese version was Dual Sim Active but band 20 was not supported on that.

Well it is dual sim dual active, as well as allot of other Huawei phones (Honor 7, P8, Honor 6+, Honor 6). It does not say dual sim active on the page, but it does not state dual sim standby either. Also the specification says B20 800Mhz, which leads me to beleve that it does support B20.
This is moving quite allot of topic, so lets close it here.
Hi Folks,
I am looking for a Z5 Dual user who has 2 SIM cards inserted that both have active data connections available with their carriers e.g. AT&T and T-Mobile in the USA or Telstra & Optus in Australia etc, etc.
I am trying to work out if the phone will support dual active 3G or 4G or LTE? The reason why is the 2G network where I am will shut down soon so the frequencies on the 2G network will stop working.
The model I am considering for purchase is E6683 (http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/whitepapers/xperia-z5-dual-e6633-and-e6683-white-paper/)
– E6683 UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1900 (Band II),
AWS-1(Band IV), 2100 (Band I) MHz
: GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
: LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 38, 39, 40, 41)
I keep hearing that there is no phone that is capable of dual LTE as the battery drain will be huge but with 3G maybe possibility?
Thanks
I'm using a Z5 Dual (E6683) which I bought from Hong Kong. It is a Dual Standby but not Dual LTE. You can select either SIM 1 or SIM 2 to have LTE.
One SIM will be on LTE and the other on 2G.
You can only use data connection on one sim card, the other one is gsm. If it is dual lte or 3g, how would the phone or the apps know which card's data to use? It will be too complicated.
Thanks for your replies, it seems the MotoG is able to maintain 2 data connections, this was reported by another user in XDA forums:

You would think that the Z5 could do the same ?

2 SIM slots + SD slot. I only use the 2nd SIM while travelling, so I can't say how they would work atm. But typically on other dual SIM phones, any SIM used for voice-only in slot 2 is okay. At least I haven't run into an issue, but YMMV.

You can choose which sim card you want to be used for data and the other is only 2G. If your BELL card doesn't have 2G network, you have to set it up for data and set the other sim card to 2g only. In that case, you won't be able to use the data on your 2nd sim card.

Somewhat disappointing, but like I said don't really have a use for dual sim, especially while in Japan. Mostly bought it because the regular Z5 was out of stock.

they are side by side under the flap: the dual has a tray which is kind of annoying to get out and the SD is a push in/out affair
I only know some Chinese phone vendors producing dual-sim-dual-LTE phones, which is achieved via putting an extra baseband chip or something in the phone.

No, as stated before, you can't have both SIMs connected on 3G. One can be connected to LTE/3G for data and voice but the other is only GSM.

No you can't. One of the sim HAS to be set to GSM. If you set it to 3g of 4g, it automatically set the other back to GSM.
does this phone actually work with WIND Mobile (E6883)
i was looking at the white paper in hk for the device at the Sony store and it doesnt' say support for AWS1700
however, GSM Arena says otherwise
maybe a stupid question, but why do you need data on 2 sim cards? Are you paying for data on 2 sim cards? Because you can switch easily between one sim or the other according to which plan you wanna use.

Idk if it's a HW/SW limitation but 1st SIM 4G or 3G and 2nd SIM only 2G. To get 3G in 2nd SIM you need a Dual SIM Dual Active.
Mi5 is capable and it's dual standby, not dual active....

Ups, i thought was a dual standby function. OPT is limited a one sim 4G/3G and the other one in 2G
That is why I'm wondering if it's a hardware or software issue. I think snapdragon 810 should be able to support 3G on second sim...

Both sims support 3g/4g but only one fast network at any time the other sim must be 2g
It's a hardware thing.

If you want 3G on second sim, you must use an OP3/OP3T, OP2 is not hardware capable
