Galaxy S4 i9505 Stuck Installing - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi looking for some help please, after a small root snafu I have had to (I think) reinstall Lollipop, earlier today my phone went flat and after plugging it in to charge and turning it on it got stuck on the flashy samsung splash screen, after some googlefu I figured bootloop so I held down the power button until the first Samsung Galaxy S4 screen popped up then I released it and pressed the down volume key and the "Don't install custom OS" screen popped up so I pressed the up volume key and the downloading screen popped up.
Anyway that was about an hour ago so I'm thinking it's poked but I don't want to permabrick my phone by interrupting the installation so I need some advice on what I do now, anything constructive would be massively appreciated, cheers

It's not downloading anything. If you want to install something, you have to do it yourself. These smartphones are not that smart to unbrick themselves

Ye I'm an egg, I realize now after a bit more google-fu that I was in the wrong place for some reason I thought it was actually downloading the OS hahaha.
Anyway now I'm here and after actually doing some research rather than just kingo-root I have decided on an action plan. However if I may be so bold, to a noob this site is quite daunting so if someone could point me to a good place to checkout some forum favorite "building block" rom's, thinks like bloat removers, alarm clocks that run off system volume not media volume (grrrrr!) things of that nature it would really help a fella out.
So again any help would be massively appreciated as I am a raging noob and this is my first ever proper name brand phone and from what I have read roming is the best way to get the most out of it. Cheers

[Q] HTC Magic bricked(?) after radio flash

Hi there,
your first thought might be: Ah jeez another one posting the same **** 2000 people posted before ^^. But anyways i think my problem is a special case:
yesterday i wanted to flash another radio to my htc magic via clockwork recovery. However something must have gone wrong. After the recovery rebooted my phone i got stuck at the "htc magic" splash screen. Pressing the home or the back or vol-down button or home and back button at the same time doesnt change the situation. still stuck at splash screen. fastboot and recovery dont seem to work.
After some really bad panicking minutes, i pulled the batery out of the phone and let it rest, while googling and searching the **** out of every forum on the net. Some minutes later i reassembled the battery and started the htc magic without pressing any other buttons, hoping it would juts boot and say "kidding ))" on the display. but yeah ... it didnt ^^.
Now im coming to the odd part, which differs from most other posts i saw on other forums and here on xda: after quite a while my htc magic suddenly made that "bling bling" sound, as it did whenever it started android successfully. i nearly burst into tears when i heard that sound, hoping that i would be able to access the phone via fastboot or adb. but ... i wasnt able to :S. the screen went black after that "bling bling" sound and stayed that way until i pulled the battery again.
i could repeat that procedure and reproduce the sound and behaviour, but i couldnt access the phone via any possible way i could find on the web :S.
hopefully somebody, who knows more can help. my last step would be jtagging the phone. but the tools are kinda pricy for such an "old" phone. and i couldnt find anyone in my area who could borrow me the tools or repair the phone for cheap money.
thanks in advance im counting on your knowledge
Try this low cost JTAG
tested by me with 2 T-Mobile Mytouch 3G
thanks for your fast response. if jtagging really is my last chance:
- what did you pay for all the parts of the schematic ?
- how long did it take you to put everything together?
- do i need a parallel port on my computer, or is it possible to use an usb port ?
- and do you think a newbie to smoldering and stuff could be successfully assembling all those parts?
- can you provide me with links and/or other pictures, which could help me?
thanks again for your effort
kinda exciting this whole thing :>

[Q] Hi and plz help

Hey guys im noob sauce now before I make myself look like ... Well a noob I'd like to say this site is pretty cool.
Okay now to my point I was using my droid x and I was planning on putting on a rom so I install titanium backup and back up all of that data but then I stop it because these stupid pop up windows keep coming up and stop my download so I (like a dummy) take out my battery and put it back in so I tried to turn it back on and the animation for the letters would come up and the red eye of the system would load and just when it's done BAM ! It starts all over again so I got a brilliant idea to try out clock work and see if I can fix it from there so I try a factory reset and a catche rest and tried it again however that didn't work not and it got even shorter to the point where the eye hasn't hardly loaded up and then next I try I guess a "hard restart"? Something crazy
Like that it's with the power button and the home button so I try that but when I push the magnifying glass the "blue letter" won't show and it's really tap dancing on my last nerve and I almost ended up throwing the thing on the ground and stomping on it :/ anyway I wanna fix the dang thing but it's not working I have a Mac home computer I'm a noob and I'm on a time line cause I need my phone before 2 days from now and the guy that usually helps me is messing with his phone. So somebody please help me please help is poor pitiful stupid noob
There are several threads on this . Keep searching.

What was your system version?
If it was .602 you can download a Linux live CD and boot from that to SBF your phone.
There may also be one for .621, if you were on that version.
Google "1kds Linux live CD". That should turn up what you need.

[Q] Problems with Galaxy 5s 900S (CLONE)

Hi. I have a Samsung Galaxy 5s SM-900S. I discovered after buying it that it is a clone. Oh well!
I rooted it using Root Genius (Chinese) from Shuame download.
It was working great. Then I deleted some bloatware apps, and disabled others.
After that, all hell broke loose. I was stuck in a flash screen boot loop.
A techie friend put the phone in download mode, and it was able to open up, but no home page.
Then he downloaded Nova launcher, and I got my home page back.
But it was a slightly different home page.
The phone originally said 900T (under- about device), but I know it is G900S (from 3 apps that display the phone specs).
Now it says G900.
The problems now are:
1. my phone dialer disappeared. I downloaded another, but it wont ring when a call comes in
2. Every few minutes when doing anything, I get a message- Unfortunately, the process android process.acore has stopped.
I then must press the ok button to continue.
Can anyone help me? Do I need to flash a new ROM?
I don't wantto reset to factory settings if I can avoid it.
I am a newbie. But I learn fast.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'm just going to let you know right now... You're not going to get support in an official device thread for a clone.
I`m sorry you got scammed mate, try to get your money back or file a police report for fraude if the device was advertised as a genuine Galaxy S5.
There is no support for this (also not by the manufacturer) device and even finding a working rom wil be very difficult.
Good luck and hope you learn from this, if it sounds to be too good to be true, it usualy is
Sad to say, but he's pretty much out of luck. Scammers know they're selling a phone that's not genuine, so chances of getting money back are slim to none. Police also don't care. If you bought it with cash just take this as a life lesson, because there's pretty much nothing else you can do.

LG G2 Bricked - Probably Hard Brick?

Hi XDA Developers. I'm newbie here so I want to explain my problem as far I it is possible.
Starting from the beginning:
On lonely afternoon I was watching a YouTube (CPU usage approx. 1-5% I think. No multitasking.) and accidentally my smartphone turned off
(It was a matter of milliseconds).
After seeing this, I tried to restart my beloved phone,(In my country it has the best money/performance ratio.)
but nothing happens.
Next step is to read about Recovery Mode/Factory Reset mode, but nothing works.
After that I connected G2 to computer with Windows(R) Operating System. Guided by the Masters of Android Operating System(XDA-Developers of course ), searching for QHSUSB, but unfortunately nothing shows(I was a little upset, because I don't found a similar thread).
So I want to ask you Dear Masters. What next to do?
Many thanks for help.
PS. I used a Desperate ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-desperate-rom-t3437472 and Lambda Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/kernel-lambda-kernel-t3270424
Thread bump.
EDIT: I read about hard brick issue resolve on: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404, but nothing happens.
Just last week my G2 turned off in the middle of writing an email.
It no longer charges, turns on, or responds in any way. the LED never comes on when I plug it in, and my computer doesn't detect in. it is basically a paperweight.
Did the same thing happen to yours?
I also tried everything I could in the "UNBRICKABLE" thread but I could never get it to turn on in any way. Either shorting the capacitors is much more difficult than I thought., or my phone is forever dead.
One guy in the thread seemed to think he was better than everyone else, and seemed to think he knew how to 'truly' unbrick the LG G2, but he didn't respond to my email, and his account is currently 'disabled' ( aftabalam8c2), and all of his youtube videos are no longer listed... so i guess that's a dead end, maybe you could try him? The thread is filled with other rude people thinking they know better, but none of them really have anything concrete to contribute...
I tried shorting the caps for about 5 hours so far, but I haven't gotten anything to happen, and I've pretty much given up... Perhaps someone with more experience will chime in, but for me, i am back to using my old iPhone 4

Samsun Tab A6 Sm-T580

Hi,
Long story short, ive messed up my sons tablet. He forgot his log in details and we had no way to recover the account. So i did a hard reset thinking it could be set up as a new tablet but turns out you have to have to sign in with the original google account only, which we cant do. Cant find the receipt for it so Samsung won flash the rom for us and fix it either.
So looked into doing it myself, downloaded Android studio for my mac, plugged the tablet into the computer and it instantly came up with a warning screen about downloading a custom rom saying "if you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key, otherwise press volume down to cancel. If i press up it says downloading but its been like that for ages, if i press volume down it boots into android and I'm back to square one. I cant get back into the boot loader screen by holding power, volume down and menu either, it just loads the warning page again.
I've been trying to make sense of of how to use ABD, Fastboot and SDK manager etc and im way out my depth. Im guessing everything a lot harder on a Mac but im stumped as to what I can do with it, if it can even be recovered.
Many thanks.
FRP lock
This is known as the FRP lock. Though very difficult, it can be bypassed. Search the forum for T580 FRP discussions. There are several.
Probably the easiest solution would be to sell yours on eBay and buy another that isn't locked. You will, of course, lose money on the deal, but save yourself a lot of headaches. If you do sell yours, make sure you list it as FRP locked.
Thanks Lewmur, sounds like it's out of my league but I'll read through the thread and see if I can make sense of it.
If not I'll follow your advice and sell it on.
Many thanks.
