Hi all,
i own my OPO since january 2015 and started noticing that the battery doesn t last like it used to be. i now usually get 3 hours of screen-on and it seems that the battery even takes longer to charge. How is your opo battery doing after more than 1 year of service? i'm asking because i want to know if it's a software problem that drains the battery (latest cm13 nightly) or really the battery got degraded
almost one and a half year old and the battery is still good.
after 2yrs, my batter gone down from 10hrs to 5hrs
What karthics4 said!Need a replacement soon!

if it got really degraded, change it.
Before replacing it, what should i check to be 100% sure that there is no battery drain on the software side?
With the right ROM and kernel I have much better battery life than two years before.
Oneplus One
I'm having less battery time than when it was new.
I have 3h SOT max currently.
Me 2. Currently looking for a good battery replacement...
After 2 years the battery is still extremely good.
Still lasting a day with ressurection remix and governor set to smartmax with lte, only wifi if i charge it to full it will consume only 35 to 40%.
I've had my OPO for over a year and battery life is excellent on Omnirom Nightlies (screenshots attached)
I get about 5 or less hrs SOT on CM13 Nightlies but with a custom kernel like Boeffla I can UC CPU and GPU and get about 6 hrs.
When I had my phone new on 4.4.4 KK I used to get 6 hrs SOT on COS with no tweaks whatsoever over 2 or more days.
Of course it will less, but I'm still getting 4-5 sot. I bought mine since the invite was sold like 40 dollars lol.
remmember that lithium batteries degrade when heated... and they get hot (40 C).
another thing to remmember is that android 4.4.4 that the OPO was delivered to us lasted more that MM and Lollipop...
after two years my battery is good, not bad not awesome like it new, but good.
I'm using ressurection remix with undervolt -130 MV
And I still can go to university and home with 50% battery.
The problem is you'll not find any ORIGINAL replacement battery for that phone. Its all label-faked batteries which will not last as long as a 2 years old original one...
I tried already some of them..
in GPS, choose the "DEVICE ONLY" mode and see that the battery will last more. CM bug...
Hardly any of the replies in this thread are useful. Most of you started out with KK and then went to LP and MM, which have much worse battery life than kitkat, so you don't know how much of the degradation is from battery wear. Flivercod's new AICP MM rom is the only one I have seen since kitkat that has a similar battery usage profile to kitkat - the screen uses at least 4 times more power than system, play services, OS, etc, so to me only someone who was running this rom could make a valid comparison to how their battery life was now vs how it was new. For me, I have dropped about an hour of SOT, from 6 to 5 due to battery wear, which is about what you would expect. Due to this, I would like to replace my battery.
It peeves me to no end, like Guido83 said,. that you cannot find an OEM battery for the OPO. They all appear to be counterfeit crap from reading the reviews. Oneplus does not answer emails asking how to purchase an OEM battery for the OPO. So, I guess you are SOL when your battery gets wonky or just old. With phones now being fast enough and good enough to be used for more than 2 years, except for the frigging battery, I am waiting until some manufacturer decides to make one with an easily replaceable battery (and that has good support on XDA) before I purchase another. Until then it's the OPO and my backup Note 4 (which I rarely use since it has awful GPS despite having a replaceable battery and SD card.)
15mths in and my battery life has improved dramatically just by switching to RR. If you're rooted then it's worth trying out another Rom.
Third time lucky for me. Oxygen was by far the worst for me. I couldnt even get to 4pm without a charge up. Since installing RR I'm finding battery life has more than doubled.
HTH
One.five year old with max Sot of 4 hrs
After upgrading to Nougat (clan install, wipe, etc) my baterry is really worst. It is like 30-60 min less SoT than before and 60-90min less active phone, with same config, same apps, etc. Also, the phone is a lot less awake than before. After 1 year of waiting can't believe this...
How about the rest?

Dude you guys have to let the update settle in..you won't get accurate battery usage for at least 5 or 6 charge discharge cycles.

Dude, hate this kind of things. Why you think i am dumb enougth to post this without letting the battery settle down? I did the upgrade two weeks ago and have at least 30-40 full charges-discharge cycles because i use the phone a lot and now have to charge it like 3 times a day. Also do the 0 to 100% calibration a lot of times and also use the normal charger too to compare. I use Gsam battery monitor to keep tracking the battery and the media values and keep my M.M. data stored to compare later. So, please, if you don't want to help me or post how is your battery life compare please don't make this kind of post thinking the other ones are dumb people or not understand how battery work on android.
Thanks, best regards.
It seems the radios are much less efficient in Nougat than Marshmallow when the signal is below average... is GSAM showing your radio with very high percentage of battery usage? Not much we can do about that, but some users have stated with poor signal the radios are using 30% of the battery and more (where in MM it was 5-10% when signal was poor). No fix yet and flashing MM radios doesn't seem to improve it, probably have to wait for an update. :/
If that doesn't explain it, try a cache wipe, then a factory reset... I am getting to a point I am recommending a factory reset for EVERYONE on this OTA, lots of weird little bugs that seem to be cleared up on a factory reset.
Impossible to believe but 7.0 is giving best battery life when compared to 6.0.
After updating to official nougat through ota moto x style (indian version) getting best battery performance. Getting around 4.5 to 5 hours on full cycle. Due to network error not able to post pictures.

The most weird thing is that the % are the same as with M.M. so can figure out why it is drainning battery. Only a lot less time held awake from the kernell and a little bit more from screen. I tried wiping the cache like 10 times. Install and uninnstall google play services, also tried the play services beta to see if it is gettint better.
Also always do a factory reset after the install of an new OS to avoid problens, so it is a clean install. Another thing I notice is the unlinear behaviour of the battery. Maybe from 100 to 75 got 2 SoT screen time and from 75 to 10 got 1 hour.
Aniway I noticed what you are saying about the low signal drain. Last nigth i was in a place with almost no signal and the cellphone in standby mode drain like 40% in an hour.
For the others who has better battery i can't understand why i am getting less battery. I use it in the same way as marshmallow. Also i read other people having battery problems too. I will have to disable all moto features to see if i get an improvement.
Thanks to all!
Today i restart my phone. It was in 84% and after the reboot wen to 74%. Maybe the update ruinned my battery life? Really don't now what to do... I can try to change the battery but the phone is 9 month old... Anyone with a idea?
Edit: Further testing show me that everytime i reboot my phone i get a different % of battery. Also same usage get to really different battery results.
I'm getting ~2.25-2.5 hours of SOT. I've my 4G sim enabled for about 6-7 hours with mediocre signal strength. So not a good improvement over MM but that maybe because of 4G data. I need to check how it performs with only WiFi.
After Nougat update, I get about 15-20 minutes more SOT
Guys please post you battery life and brenchmerks on nougut and marshmallow so that we can decide which one is better. Some people experiencing poor battery life in nougut. Share screenshot of battery stat and gsm battery monitor and other battery monitoring app. And sorry for bad english.
My rom is stock nougut. Cell standby 2 percent. Phone idle 3 percent. Screen 14 percent.
Screenshot is bellow.
No screenshot on my side but for me the Nougat update has revived the phone: much better battery life (+1h SOT I would say), run cooler, less stutters, smooth scrolling in chrome, fast wifi connection and all the nougat advantages. I haven't seen bugs apart from the system UI tuner that resets itself.
I am running 100% stock, took the OTA when it was offered to me and made a factory reset.

I'll try to remember next week, I switch back to my S7 for the weekend.
Getting almost 4 hours of SOT on my 8 months old device.
My device is 14 months old and I use dual sim cards, mostly I'm on WiFi.
I get 1.5-3 hours of SOT generally. I generally have to charge my phone 3 times a day.
Stock nougat
Only using WiFi
Mostly browsing and videos on YouTube.
Getting 4 to 4.5 hours of sot.
I manage to have 5 hours SoT with android stock funcionalitys only. I am doing test but i maybe i will create a teadh latter to explain how to get more SoT.

I have 2hr SOT. VERY POOR. NEED TO CHARGE 3 TIMES A DAY
Here are my screenshots. I was mostly on WiFi during the day, did a lot of reading/browsing, a little YouTube, and gamed for around 30 minutes. Before I would have needed to recharge mid-afternoon and was getting 2:30/3h max SOT a day.
I'm extremely pleased with the update.
After doing a heavy tweaking of the phone without root i managed to get more than 5 hour of SoT. After that i was getting an unaceptable 3hs SoT.

Probably tonigth i will post a full guide with all the things i did. It is nothing magical, just disabling things, etc.
I used this to get better battery life:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...ide-improve-battery-life-performance-t3647155
Getting about 15-20 minutes of additional SOT after nougat update
Facing poor battery life since last 3-4 days. I had factory resetted the phone but nothing helped
Earlier I used to get around 6-7 hours of SOT on with wifi on and moderate usage. Now I hardly get around 4.5-5 hours with same usage.
Anyone facing such issue?
Any news that the feb update will solve the battery drain issue?
Same here. I am barely getting 3hrs SOT. 7000000.ssusb is keeping phone awake and it doesn't go in deep sleep mode.
Facing same issue, guessing this device was a wrong choice for me! ?
Mine arrived today. Downloading the 1000mb update. Must be Oreo?
Have you performed procedures to conserve battery life?
How to ... Disable Check Wizard (wi-fi and bluetooth), Disable sending of analyzes to Mi, restrict data usage of apps in the background and remove vibration from the keyboard.
What version of android?
Try to install BBS (better battery stats) to determine what is the cause of your battery drain.
In my case i had activated erroneously wifi scanning under geolocalization option and it's a big battery hog.
Where is that in menu exactly?
assuming you are on android 8 it can be found under geolocalization --> search, while in android 7 it is under geolocalization-->upper right corner three dots-->search
Ps
BBS can be used without root privileges, just read here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67819528&postcount=4
Same issue
it went down from 8 hours sot to just barely 5 after oreo downgrade.
I have no issues whatsoever with battery life on this phone. As a matter of fact, I often get over one day's usage out of it.
Run the battery analysis programs instead of whingeing on here.
I have posted screenshot of my problem below. I have flashed ROM multiple times and still the battery drain won't stop. It went away for some days and I was getting 5hrs sot but now again the problem has started. No idea why.

Those pics say you're getting 12 hours of battery since last charge and are at 23%.
Talking about SOT which is way less as i barely used phone. It's basically like battery being drained for no reason at night. Look at system using all the battery. Is that normal?

Install Accu battery from play store then check your notification, normal average consumption between -150 and -400, if more then check the app to see which app drain your battery

I'm using this MiA1 since Sep 2017, and it's flawless with Android 8.1.0 Nov 2018.
You have a BAD OS (Pie), not really suitable for this phone. I'm getting more than 80% of the time (of Screen Off state) as Deep Sleep Mode. Depending on the usage, 80% charged battery is giving me 30-40 hrs with 10% SoT.
Our immature/childish attitude to anything FREE and the LATEST, and greedily grabbing it, makes us miserable.

Hey guys.
So I noticed everyone here and anywhere else basically, complaining about the battery life on this phone after the MIUI 11 update so I used the debloater directly after getting the phone to have the best battery life possible.
Turned off all the suggested apps and services and I gotta say battery improved, but it wasn't what was promised by the phone's specs. I'm barely getting 4h SoT, without any heavy usage whatsoever, only social stuff.
The culprit for me as well has been the Android System, with over 40% drain every day. So I installed Accubatery to try and see what's happening with my battery, along with better battery stats.
What I found useful from the accubattery app is the permanent notification where it tells you, after a few seconds, how much mA will be drained in an hour of using the phone like the way you are using it at that moment. So I did a test. Had my phone on the home screen, doing nothing. After a few seconds the reading showed -180mA, which is awesome right? Then I locked my phone and left it at the always-on display for a minute or so. Unlocked it and the notification showed -980mA.
This is very VERY weird and I cannot find anything anywhere suggesting what anyone can do to combat this. I have more average battery drain when the screen is off than when the screen is on.
I have never reset my phone (and would like that to stay that way if possible) and the phone itself is a month old. It's really saddening to see other people are getting twice as much SoT.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

I was on Miui 11 for a few weeks and had ~8h SOT with AOD enabled all the time. Now I am on Pixel Experience and I have ~7.5h SOT without AOD so I am very satisfied with the battery life.
I advise you to wait for Miui 12, which will come very soon to the Mi 9T. Then everything will probably change again with the battery life...
