Ok so maybe I'm looking beyond my nose but I couldn't find a thread that explained about rooting the galaxy s7 edge. I rooted my z3 and xperia play but Samsung I believe are different. I've read so many one click root methods from Google I'm unsure what to believe any more, once it has been rooted is it possible to have it where you can root and unroot at will as I use barclays app so every now and again will need to unroot just to sort that bit out.. any help would be greatly appreciated

[SM-903F] [lollipop 5.1.1] root
Hi.
I'm a user of Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G903F).
Please tell me, if it's possible to root this device ?
Thanks
I'm also looking for root, but it seems that it isn't possible at the moment.
+1
Same here, tried really ALL root methods I found all over the net. 45+ I guess. But at least some of them showed a request count, so it may be in work.
Same thing
Hey guys
I can only say the same thing, I've tried major part of rooting methods, apps n progs available without success. The "nearest" was Kingo root but have stopped at 77% progress. I'm thinking to try contacting chainfire and ask him to try "updating" cfroot to gain possibility to root galaxy s5 neo G903F lollipop 5.1.1. Have someone idea where is the correct place/post to contact him for this? I ask this because I red from him that he don't answer private messages.
Please give me some idea.
Best regards to all of you.
I wrote a request on chainfires superSu thread, hope it helps!

Hi!
I have also asked around for this and send a PM to PG101, for the S5 NEO – SM-G903FXXU1AOGG, on Android 5.1.1.
I have not tried anything yet, as I use this mainly for work and bricking it would be worst nightmare scenario.
But Samsung does not support sidesync yet, and I need root to add AC3 audio support to the device.
I hope this new model gets picked up fast!

Hi androcraze
The first link it's a kind of "fake" the second one the blog doesn't exist any more and third one is for unroot s5 neo SM-G903F, BUT, since this model isn't been rooted till now, I think it can't be unrooted
Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62967168
In second page about the 2 first links or more information in the other posts of that thread, but the s5 Neo sm-g903f have not been rooted since now I think...

Check out Auto root. Make sure your bootloader is unlock or you will have a bricked device in your hands.

Thanks, but according to Chainfire Autoroot website "CF-AUTO-ROOT IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERATIONAL FOR ... SAMSUNG ON ANDROID 5."
SRS root - no good
I read today that the new version of SRS Root could be used to root, but....
Bitdefender found several trojans during download! The previous version of SRS Root didn't have this problem.
Be aware.
I'm just trying to find root package so I can downgrade my active and root it. But I'm having trouble finding it. Can you give me any help please?

The demand is not the issue.

Hmm you think. Because if this particular phone sold millions and there were lots more people who wanted to root it there would be an root option for certain.

Demand doesn't make exploits pop up.

The more demand there is for exploits the more people you will have looking for exploits. There is no demand at this point

I think I bricked my Galaxy S5 Active G870A Lollipop 5.1.1
So I tried to downgrade my phone to Kit Kat and thought I had followed the instructions. I installed Odin and ran it the way I was instructed and it passed. I tried to flash the updates needed via external SD card and the updates seemed to be going well. Yet just before its done I see this red error "sideload install/*something* error (Status 7). My friend and have tried presumably everything but it won't flash the stock or any other ROM. If I'm in boot mode and try to use Odin it will fail with Fail Auth Success 0/Failed 1. Not sure what I can do. Any help would be great. Again Odin does not seem to work. Also, if I can't fix it would AT&T replace it with the insurance I have.
you CAN NOT downgrade, take it to at&t dealer and pray
I just switched from a Sprint Galaxy S6 to a Verizon Galaxy S7 and it's a drastic change to me lol.. First off, I wanna know if Magisk (Systemless root and Xposed) works on here and how I would go about flashing it on this device. I had the most *****in' setup on my S6, so I'm trying to replicate it to some degree.
I haven't heard anything about custom recoveries for the S7 just yet, anyone have an idea? Sorry for my noobish appearance here lol, I just need an introduction because I'm missing out on so much without my root and Xposed.
EDIT: I may have posted this in the wrong thread. If so, could a mod move it to the proper place.
Note- I am of course referring to the G930V in this post. I'm on the APH1 update.
No custom recoveries yet. The root method at the top of this forum works and gives you access to xposed. That's the best option we have right now.
Eh, I guess I will have to deal with what I have for now. Thanks for the reply.
Are there any custom kernels that can be used with the Verizon S7?

Maybe one day! A man can dream right?!
Hey guys... I have an S7 edge duos and I want to switch to Verizon but my phone isn't compatible... so I was thinking about selling it and getting the US unlocked version (SM-G935U). Is there a root for this phone? I'm thinking kingroot might work but I haven't found any posts via google search to confirm. Thanks ahead of time.
There is using a engineering kernel, but it give bad battery life and performance.

I would like to know the same thing. I know i'm very late to the party but i tried the only thing i could find for this model http://www.androidinfotech.com/2017/05/root-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-sm-g935u-nougat.html This method but i get fail in odin. Can anyone tell me if it's even possible to root this device?
Thank you
So I've been looking between the S8 and the G6 to upgrade to, and I really like the S8, but I use root a lot for different things- Viper, AdAway, and just general performance things
Does anyone think it's realistic to say we'll get this phone rooted? I remember my old S6 being hard to root, but it got done in a month or 2, and I'm just curious
Thank you to anyone who can help me

If you are referring to the U.S. Snapdragon variants, it will be some time and it will half baked like it was with the S7 and S7 Edge. They locked the bootloader on all the Snapdragon variants and that, obviously, makes it infinitely more difficult to root. The Exynos version of the aforementioned phones had root last year and it apparently performed very well. I wouldn't expect it anytime near launch. These devs have lives, so there will be no timetable.
Also, in my opinion, Viper tends to be a little overrated, but I am just throwing my 2 cents in here.
Now that they removed the remapping functionality for the Bixby button, I will definitely want to root my device (Exynos variant).
So there is no root even with magisk root?

Yep, I notice all the "experts" that swore there would be no root on the exynos have forget to check in and admit they were wrong.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3594756
Ive been looking for a exynos region list but this year having no luck to determine the right model on lte and att bands..but all i buy now is exynos because they are or were unlocked. My sig showes what devices i still own and tinker with but what im saying is i bought the 920C, 910C, and 928G last year and use them in the US without a problem on att.. But with some countries getting samsung pay will they get exynos or snapdragon. Regions that got samsung pay would be locked thats the info ive been trying to figure out....lol

Adgaurd will block ads in games and all.
Do you have a link? The only one I found was "Adgaurd Content Blocker" and it talks about using specific browsers etc.
