[REQUEST]Sony Xperia Z1, Dark themed, enlarged icons ROM - General Paranoid Android Discussion

Hello, xda-developers community,
I have been searching a custom ROM for my friend's phone, since he has some eye problems he asked me for this, just I want to help him about this.
So, as title says we are searching for a custom ROM that allows my friend use his phone easier, CarbonROM was good one about that with very dark themed everywhere, but it cannot find compatible version of it for Sony Xperia Z1. At this point, if you know a ROM like:
-Useless applications can be deleted from phone,
-Very dark themed and black-background everywhere, messaging, browsing settings menu etc,
-Enlarged notification bars, battery status, app icons,
and things can ease life for my friend about his problems.
Since, I dont have knowledge about how to create ROMs, I highly appreciate that if you mind those when developing new ROMs. Thank in advance reading all above, and lastly I share my friend's phone's details:
Model number: C6903
Processor info: Qualcomm MSM8974
Android version: 5.1.1
Main Band: 8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270086-81
kernel: 3.4.0-perf-gd26777b-00851-ga8b7b55
Compiled no: 14.6.A.1.236
Sorry for bad english.

Is this forum section some kind of catch-all for all the people that have no clue what they're doing?!
It's supposed to be for Paranoid Android ROM.... I guess it's n00b central now.

Is this the Galaxy 3?

Good Afternoon Folks.
I am a bit lost at the moment don't really venture over to the Samsung phones as I don't have one myself.
However my wife does and its running a very old version of Android and I think its quite rubbish to be honest. I would like to root it and upgrade the rom to the latest that is possible. (I have done this with with my HTC Desire and many times in the past with WinMo phones)
Now I am not 100% sure if it is a Galaxy 3 or not and I was wondering if anyone can clairfy that for me. All the pictures of the G3 on the web are almost identical to her phone but they seem shorter and fatter
Her's was called a Samsung Galaxy Apollo I believe when she got it. I have also seen it being reffered to a I5800.
I have gone onto the About screen on her phone and listed some information here if that helps:
Model Number: GT-I5800
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: I5800XXJG3
Kernel Version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build Number: ECLAIR.B0JH1
Could someone please clarify to me if this is the G3 and if so the latest rom available or may even a link to a rom dev that is fairly stable and fast?
I am hoping for 2.3 but don't think that is about for this phone so I am guessing it will be 2.2?
Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Max

yes! whatever info you have given indicates that the phone is a galaxy 3(and gt-i5801(Apollo)=gt-i5800) it means you can flash any firmware of gt-i5800 to gt-i5801 & vice-versa.
So, go ahead and flash any ROM like Indroid, Kyrillos, Destiny ROM or G3 mod etc using Odin multi-downloader(above listed are Froyo based custom roms) & almost all of them are good.
There is also a gingerbread based CM7 but it is in alpha stage, see if you like it. All these and more roms can be found in the Development sub-forum of galaxy 3. And yeah your phone IS galaxy3. Best of luck.
Hit thanks button if I've helped you.

Thanks for your reply that is very helpful.
One last question would you know the best rom for speed and power. I am looking for something fairly light as one of the reasons we are upgrading because she wants to play a game but with the standard rom half of the buttons appear white and very slow I am guessing this is because theres not enough power for the game to display properly.

Galaxy 3 has a crap GPU with screwed up drivers, so it faces problems rendering some of the imersive graphics of the games.
You should first flash any good ROM as Kyrillos 8.0 or Indroid 6 and flash any OC kernel like G3Mod or fugumod and overclock your CPU using setCPU and also use Chainfire3d. But, first learn about the advantages and disadvantages of overclocking

Vodafone Smart Mini (V875).. Very Decent devices, not known

Hello everyone,
So basically I own a very nice phone with decent specifications but not many people know it, so I decided to come here and Ask
First of all, it's the Vodafone Smart mini, aka. TCT Vodafone V875, It has 3.5" HVGA screen, resolution 320x480, MTK 6575 1ghz single core cpu and a PowerVR gpu which gives amazing performance
So, I've been looking all over internet for a custom rom for it, I was able to root it using the amazing Framaroot and I got custom recovery from smartmini.wordpress.com, that website has a custom rom stock based for it but that's not what I'm looking for
I'm looking for something like AOKP or CM or Paranoid for my device, that gives me an android version higher than 4.1.1 since that's what the device comes with
What I'm asking for is a custom rom with android version 4.1.2+ that is the same as CM or any other famous roms so if there is or if there are people working on one(s) please give me link and thank you
Also a little link to help devs looking forward to develop a rom for the device : http://sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/VF875_20130619.tar.xz/download
It's the device's source code
i too would like this.
Good luck
It actually seems more responsive than my droid4.

[Q] [Request] Custom rom for Changjiang S1

I'm using this phone for a while, but since it is made in China and lack supports
It is still in 2.3.x branch, which contains some known security issues
So, I'd like to know how to build a custom rom for it, my friend told me Slim is one of the most stable custom ROM on the run, and fits my minimaist style, can you give me some advice?
P.S. I've been looking into many Chinese sites, but still I can't get the full list of device tree
EDIT: seems it is a mtk6516 CPU with dual SIM
it has some different model names:
Meizu G11
Chianjing A007 or V7
found some maybe useful specs.

[Q] New Droid user, looking to install a ROM

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum/site, just looking for a few pointers. I've been using a BlackBerry Curve (8330) since 2008- it's been a great phone and hasn't ever significantly let me down. However, I was given a phone about a year ago (Verizon Motorola Droid Razr M, XT907) and it's just been sitting in a closet here since I got it. Decided to finally get with the times and would like to start using it, hence why I'm here.
I'm wanting to put a custom ROM on it, though really don't know where to start. There appears to be several different ones, not sure how each differs from the next. I have experience installing a custom OS on my BlackBerry but am completely in the dark with Droid phones. Came across a few sticky threads on how to go about installing ROMs and such, just looking for suggestions at this point I guess.
I reset this Razr M to factory stock- twice just to be sure. My main goal is to remove all the unnecessary bloatware that comes pre-installed on this thing (if possible)- Amazon Kindle, Amazon MP3, Audible, Backup+ Media, NFL Mobile, etc. I won't be using about 75% of the preinstalled applications.
The phone as it sits in front of me-
System Version
98.30.1.XT907.Verizon.en.US
Model Number
DROID RAZR M
Android Version
4.1.2
Baseband Version
SM_BP_101032.021.32.80P
Kernel Version
3.0.31-gef7deb8
[email protected] #1
Build Number
9.8.1Q-94-1
Build Date
Thu Sep 26 12:22:41 CDT 2013
So, my question(s) are mainly- Does it matter which version I'm running in order to be able to install a custom ROM on here?
Would like to eventually root this, though not a priority at the moment. Is it required to be able to put a custom ROM on it?
I see KitKat being mentioned often along with JellyBean and Ice Cream Sandwich, something or other. No idea what any of those are. Could someone elaborate a bit?
Thanks much in advance, apologies for being the n00b.

to install a custom rom you need an Unlocked bootloader and custom Recovery like TWRP

Installing a Custom Rom will be installed over stock, and will not contain bloatware.
If you just want to remove Bloatware, all you need is Root access.

Got Note 2 - Now I am lost!

Hi, I got the xiaomi Note 2. looks nice but almost everyapp and text in app is in chinese even though I have selected english as the default language.
Details are: Android Version: 5.0.2.LRX22G
MIUI Version: MIUI 6.7.10.0(LHMCNCH) I Stable
Baseband: MOLY.LR9.W1423.MD.LWTG.MP.V24.P25

I wanna Root my device - coz you gotta have root.
Install an english rom and get rid of bloatware. I want max Google apps compatibility.
Zero or Near zero bugs.
avoid slowing my device, like degradation on this rom, : http://en.miui.com/thread-167703-1-1.html
(Base score is around 40k in antutu and this guy's rom seems to clock 21k)
But when I visit en.miui.com I get really confused I have only used samsung before and last custom rom I used was like 5 years ago.
Could you please recommend a good Rom that would fit the bill and a ultra noob tutorial for that?
Ple
Hi.
Thats a rom for another phone. Please look at Antutu results. 1280x720 etc.
Gpu score in Antutu would be around 9500 if it runs as it should.
Read the other thread you started and you will find answer. "Redmi Note 2 - How was your experience?"
Thanks
