Battery drain
Hi there,
im a proud owner of beautiful edge+ with a massive problem.
My battery goes bye bye in sleep hours 40 to 50%. I sleep 7 hours, my phone is at 75%..when i woke up, it was at 20%... the only thing i have on is the edge timer..power saving on and the not disturb on as well during sleep.
Im a recent guy on android..any help would be appreciated...i really don´t know how or what is draining the battery. It´s stock with google now launcher..pretty basic...
Another thing...why can´t i unnistall the messenger app (fb?)
Thanks in advance.
I also have a standby time drainage on my edge+. I would like to know how to prevent this. I've used package disabled but in the end, it didn't do much for my battery Drain.

If you are not rooted use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro
You can disable whatever you want.
Try to isolate the offending app or service.

Yes, the S6 Edge+ battery definitely drains fast in standby. I have the VZW variant. With my previous phones (Note 2, 3 and 4), the battery would drain about 1% per hour during standby while I was sleeping (w/ Wi-Fi on). My S6 Edge+ seems to drain at a rate of 5% per hour with Wi-Fi on. With Wi-Fi off, then the rate drops to 2%-3% per hour.
I'm amazed/jealous at my wife's iPhone 6 Plus. It literally has no standby battery drain. Go to sleep at 11pm and wake up at 6am...battery still at 100%.
I'm getting about 3.5 - 4 hours of SOT. Overall, my battery life is slightly worse compared to my Note 4. But I still really like the phone.
Not at All..
I also Owned this beautiful device..
5d+ standby and 1 hour Sot and 37% remaining
Not bad near me..

Hey. I recomend u arter97 kernel. It saves battery in deep sleep(7 hours screen off and drained %4 only). I think its better than stock kernel's..
I have battery drain only 5% with wi-fi off. If wi-fi is on than 20% drainage.

It's strange. With my Note 2-4, I had less battery battery drain with wi-fi on.
My egde+ runs about 1% each hour in standby with wifi on.
My phone is just out of the box no other apps installed.
I had the same problem, I installed JuiceDefender, it reduces the battery drainage.
I'm getting no drainage during sleep mode

I changed from Note 3 to s 6 edge plus recently
The battery drops 5% per hour overnight when not in use. If I go to bed with less than 40% battery at night I am sure to wake up with my phone switched off in the morning.
When in use with screen on, the battery drips one percent every two minutes. This is the worst battery life I have ever seen in a phone. I was a long loyal customer of samsung and this is my last samsung phone ever.
Extremely disappointed
Please post your battery stats ? so we can have a better understanding of your problem. I suggest you install 'Doze' which should stop unnecessary apps from connecting to the internet and causing your phone to awake from deep sleep.
Dear Akbar 11
Heres the battery stats....is it normal?
I had the same issue, and as far as I managed to find out, it is a bug in Samsung's kernel. Flashing Arter97 kernel solved the issue for, but do post battery stats from SmartManager. If it says 'Android' or 'Android OS', then you have the same problem many of us do.
I don't think it's a kernel problem. My android OS is very low 4%. Like zoolok said post your battery stats from settings, battery, battery usage
I have the same problem. Battery was great before I flash custom rom. After going back to stock I have big battery draining. I must stay on custom rom. With Audax rom and Skyhigh kernel i have great battery life.
You have either messed up something big or you have an app in the background that is eating up your battery like no tomorrow.
And the reason i say that is because i recently got this battery life on my Galaxy S6 edge+.
And this was taken 2 days ago.
Here i use the CRISSCROSS ROM, AudaxPro Kernel, Greeinify and Samsung's own 'Appoptimizing' feature (same as Doze in Android 6.0).
So my battery life is pretty awesome.
i have problem whit battery lose 25% when i sleep
This is a usual day with s6 edge plus
Any help?

i have this problem battery ... if u fixed it tell me how?
Well I was expecting Google Play Services to be eating your battery (which is quite common) but it looks like your Andriod OS is eating the most battery. I would uninstall Facebook and use the web version it always helps with the ram and battery furthermore, turn off location if you are not using it and check accounts which are being synced. These are the only tips I can give you as I have never seen Android OS drain so much battery.
Since a few days Google Play Store is eating up my battery: I go to sleep with 100% batt and wake up with 50%, if I check batt stats on top I have play store at 45%, with 5h active a d 2h of CPU.
Follows Android system at 5%.
Going crazy why...

You've charged your phone 4 times during that day. I can't see what's the interesting part here.
Has anyone used greenify with their s7 yet?

I don't advise Greenify at all using Marshmallow. The OS does a good enough job at putting apps to sleep and not letting them run wild in the background.
Greenify will just cause the phone to use more battery to start closed apps back up when you or the phone need to use them.
Says you... My battery life testing with and without greenify says the opposite though. It clearly showed better battery with greenify installed.
It may be the aggressive Doze setting in Greenify that helps, who knows.

I had a thread open in the general questions area (check my profile for my thread).
I had Greenify running on my first night with the phone and the phone, while I was asleep and it was idle, lost ~20% battery overnight.
Next night I uninstalled Greenify, charged to 99%, closed all my apps, turned AOD off and lost 1% overnight.
Then I tried with AOD on and only lost ~5-6% (AOD on will lose about 1% battery per hour).
Greenify definitely causes issues at least with the Snapdragon processor variants (the one I have has the SD820 in it).

That's what I'm saying. With all the new power management features of the new Snapdragon chips and Android Marshmallow, Greenify would be counterproductive.
That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the info. I was just going to use it for the aggressive doze feature. I wish my phone would doze while in my pocket.

What about Exynos version of the galaxy S7?
I got grenify for every phone i use. Im on S7 Edge exynoss. And for me i got it better when using greenify. Maybe its also depend on how people use their phone.
I used mine for daily driver, well like GpS and compass, vidcall, chat alot, taking pict for project report and so on. I always play games but not the heaviest one though.
I'm having the same issue with my s7 edge (intl version exynos ) and greenify. was using greenify and amplify , battery life worsened. phone felt a little sluggish ..uninstalled them both and the phone is blazing again. no battery drain.
Hi I have a galaxy s4 i9500, I am rooted and have gear cm13. I've been experiencing extremely poor battery life with the screen on and/or off, losing 1% every minute or so. I've read other threads but it didn't seem to sort out my problem please help me somebody
Install better battery stats to see what's using the most of your battery.
I'm really sorry for the late reply, I installed gsam battery monitor and it told me that android system was using up most of my battery life.....
I followed a thread on the forum about resetting the fuel gauge and my phone is back to the way it should be fortunately,,, although occasionally the battery does tend to drain more quickly than usual, I will download better battery stats to show you what it says
I flashed resurrection remix and my battery life has never been better, all other problems I've been having are also resolved.. Looks like it was just CyanogenMod that was causing the problems
Hi all
currently still using lollipop and wondering if its worth instally marshmallow. is the battery life better and have less battery drain then on lollipop?
Thanks
DOSE does help to extend the battery life of the Note 4, when it's not being used and is still powered on.
Forgjve me for asking but are you joking or do you mean that the cell standby usage drops with marshmallow compared to lollipop? Im looking for any possible ways to get thjs reduced. My cell standby percentage is almost 30 and 40%
Hello: In my particular case, before in 5.1 i have 1% per hour of battery drain, now with Marshmallow i have 3 % EVEN with Doze per hour, so in my case make worse my cell phone and with more lag.
So in my case again. I don't recommend you upgrade your phone.
But Cell Standby with Lollipop is terrible....its using so much battery!
Does marshmallow help to get rid of cell standby?
Anyone?
after last update i have heavy cell standy usage. I want to sell my note 4 and go for s7 edge
