Network locked SIM card inserted - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i have bought this Samsung galaxy grand prime phone from Saudi Arabia. I live in India. Now when i enter a sim card in it , it is asking for a code. Now surely it is sim locked. So what are the ways to unlock it. There are many websites which provide the code but you have to pay them. Is there any other way out of this issue rather then paying and entering the code ?

Note 3 SIM Network Unlock PIN in India Purchased from Saudi

Hello All,
I will appreciate if someone can help.
We have purchased Note 3 N9005 LTE from Saudi Arabia on 9th January and I have switched it on for the first time in India using Indian SIM card. Now it is asking for SIM NETWORK UNLOCK PIN.
I am aware that this is regional locked. But I am trying to find a solution. I already tried to purchase unlocking codes but seems there are no codes providers for phones purchased from Saudi Arabia region.
I am also aware of regional lock App, but it will void the warranty.
I wanted to ask will Samsung India or Samsung Saudi Arabia help us in this case? Did anyone experiencing the same problem found a solution without voiding the warranty?
I made a phone call to Samsung India and they said if I register it in India then there is a possibility that it may get functional, but I am not sure.
I request someone to help.
Thanks,
Did you find a solution?

RegionLock Away only works with older firmwares afaik. You`re best bet is to activate it through Samsung. Register your device in India and if that doesn`t work contact Samsung again for more support.

Register the phone on the Indian Samsung site http://www.samsung.com/in/#undefined and choose Product Registration http://cybersvc2.samsungcsportal.co...n01.jsp?locale_id=in_en&ssoUseYn=N&ssoLang=en and contact Samsung India later for more activation support if needed.
Solution
Hello,
I managed to unlock my Note 3, however I sent it back to Saudi Arabia and they have unlocked it in their service center. I was charged 200 Riyals approximately 3200 rupees. However I heard software solutions are now supporting MJ7 as well? But I am not sure.
i have the simple solution
i have the simple solution, ........just email samsung "contact us" from the country of purchase
i bought a note 4 from saudi in jan 2015 , but indian sim do not work, ....in the box there is a pamphlet which says to unlock i must call (in/out) for 5 minutes...but i dont have a arabian sim, i contacted some local phone shops , they asked rs 3000 to unlock, i did not want to spend more money on a legaly bought phone...so i called samsung india, they said i have to contact saudi samsung, so i emailed samsung saudi, email is in arabic, but we can type in english....they repied with an email asking for model, imei, bill photo,...i sent it and they replied with the unlock codes ...and it worked

[Q] Search engine didn't work so I need your help

Hello everybody from this part of xda. Personally i do not own the device but here is my little story:
My uncle lives in United Kingdom and his service provider gave him Samsung Galaxy S5 as a x-mas gift for renewing his contract. It was too big for him so he sent me. My sister fell inlove with this phone from first sigh so i didn't take it. Unfortunately the S5 is locked. I searched a lot of threads about unlocking S5 and all i found was at&t problems without any good results. We live in Bulgaria and in my country there is no such a service which is unlocking phones from IMEI. My father's network provider is "EE" - united kingdom.
So here is my question:
Is it possible (Any way?) to unlock Samsung Galaxy S5 locked to EE (UK Provider) without buying unlock code online?
If root or recovery is needed for any method, okey, no problem, i will do it. Atm the phone is totally stock!
So far there is no way to unlock it for free like all the other Samsung's, you have no choice to buy a code, unless you can convince the carrier to hand over a code

Any chance to unlock region locked device?

Hello. Is it any chance to unlock region locked device? I mean any other chances except 5 minutes on calls with regional SIM. I want to buy SGS 7 EDGE in the UK, but I am living in another country. Thank you! I mean this: http://www.androidheadlines.com/2016/03/galaxy-s7-galaxy-s7-edge-region-locked-in-europe.html
Already found information. Many sites and ebay offered it for a little price. No need to answer.
I bought an s7 edge from germany, then I learn about that regional sim lock. I however was so lucky to have an aunt who has a sim card that can work both in germany and here, she call someone in germany for 5 mins and it worked. So if you know someone from where the device loced to, you may be able to find a sim card that can work for your country too.

My sm-g950fd is region locked! Need help here!

I got the phone as a gift from an uncle in Saudi Arabia, it was intact. So there was no call made through it in Saudi and now it's asking for network unlock code (Current region is Bangladesh) :crying::crying::crying: .It says on the box "For Middle East and North Africa only".
Now if I flash the stock rom for SM-G950FD that has a region (BNG) compatible with my current country's SIM, will it unlock the region lock? Or is it just gonna get bricked or bootloop?
PS - Online unlock-code-for-cash isn't an easy option since I don't have a credit card.I can do it by a third party though and it's gonna cost me a bit too much money.I'd like to give the flashing a try first
EDIT - I unlocked it!I took it to a servicing center, they inserted a roaming Saudi sim and now it's unlocked! It cost me around 19$.I also contacted Samsung Saudi Arabia and provided them the info they required. And now they're processing the code and said it will take 5 working days to send me the code.
I think you have to use the phone for 5 minutes in the country it was sold so the region lock is dismissed, i don't believe flashing will get rid of the region lock.

Flashing will not remove the lock it basically changes the carrier apps and such on it. There are free services you can try here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/cool-unlocking-samsung-z3x-box-free-t3648947 This guy is pretty good but may take him a day or 2 to get around to you as I am sure he is quite busy

Did the phone unlock after inserting Saudi Sim card and placing a call for 5 minutes? Or you waited 5 days for the code to unlock it? My dad is bringing the phone for me and its region lock but I am sure he will be having a local sim card with him so can I do the stuff here in India with Saudi Sim card or I should be there!?

You can ask your dad to bring a Saudi SIM card and make/receive at least 5 minutes of calls to it while it's in your S8.
My aunt had the same issue with a Note 8 from the Middle East - once you complete 5 minutes of calls it's fully SIM unlocked to any carrier in the world.
Samsung used to do region locking for European phones too, but nowadays the only phones I see region locked are those from the Middle East - apparently they're priced way cheaper (~$100-200?) compared to the rest of the world over there for some reason, and Samsung doesn't want you exporting them fresh in the box to regions where they're more expensive.
Above aunt gets sent like 2 Galaxy S/Note phones a year just from credit card rewards

Yeah, using a local sim card should do the job.

Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it. Yes, in the middle east the phones are way cheaper especially considering very low tax rates.
