Help. stuck in bootloop - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can only flash stock roms. Every other type of rom I try to flash hangs in a continuous boot loop. In twrp it always says "patching system unconditionally". What have I done wrong?

Can you describe your flashing process ?
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk

I do a system, cache, data wipe (twice, sometimes 3 times). Then I flash the rom (usually rom & gapps together but since I've had this problem I flash the rom and try to boot up first).

Verizon Tab 7" help needed please

I tried loading a different rom and thought it was bricked. I followed a guide to get it back to stock and when it boots the Verizon logo. When I boot into recovery I get this screen
EDIT: I repeated the steps and it is working!
Bad flash, download fresh and try again.

This is normal behavior.
When you use heimdall or odin it doesn't completely wipe data and cache before reflashing the system partition. If you are using a non-stock rom this leaves incompatible data that is used during the boot process, so the stock rom will bootloop. Once you go into stock recovery and wipe data/cache, it will remove the incompatible data and the rom will boot normally.

Android 4.3 stuck at "Android is upgrading"; "starting apps"

My friends, who is miles away tried upgrading nexus 4 through official OTA but during the process, phone stuck at "Android is upgrading".."starting apps". It been in this state since an hour. It's not even showing how many apps have been upgraded out of the total apps.

First to a hard reset/reboot, if not working:
Go into recovery > wipe cache.
If its not working wipe data (factory reset)
IF that doesn't work, try flashing stock images.
IF that doesn't work, flash a custom recovery and wipe cache dalvik cache and format/wipe data(I prefer twrp) (when unlocking bootloader and flashing recoveries I also recommend using the fast boot commands, not a toolkit)
If that doesn't work, then flash a ROM?
Flashing stock images should be your second to last last option though,
Flashing custom recoveries/roms IS your last option.

Bro thanks lots for your response. However nobody here replied so i took a guess avid asked her to reboot the phone and see if it starts up. Fortunately it did and luckily it updated the OS. I wonder why it stopped at upgrading apps then?
However her camera ain't working, which was already giving lotsa problems on 4.2.2.

Can't boot, Can't get into recovery, Can't flash to stock.

I appear to be bricked. I flashed a recovery via flashify. Phone gets stuck on fastboot. This is coming from Houstonn's excellent PA rom. Tried to go to recovery. Goes back to fastboot. It just shows udc start. Tried connecting to my PC to flash another recovery via fastboot and it's a no go. Just shows wating for fastboot. Booting doesnt work either. Bootloop. So I figured game over and I'll flash to stock. To my horror, the restore process stops at 49%. Apparently, you have to come from a stock based kernal for it to work. Am I bricked for good?
Hello you must flash a stock Rom in the download mode.
Sorry... I don't saw that the flash stops
Then you must install twrp and costumrome again

Thanks for trying to help. I got it fixed without losing data. I got it to boot into the rom after shutting it down for an hour. Apparently it was overheating thats why it didn't boot. But if for stuck at the starting apps screen. So used adb to flash recovery again. Booted into recovery and reflashed rom after clearing data. Running like a champ now.

Problem with flashing F2FS Recovery and ROM

Hello,
yesterday i tried to flash SlimKat with "All F2FS" (SlimKat).
I Followed the description and copied all files to my Nexus 7, flashed the new all f2fs twrp 2.7 via fastboot. Flashed the FormatPartition.zip rebootet and flashed ROM and Gapps. Till here, everything works great. But if I try to Format Data it says to me that I need to type in my password to decrypt partition. But I never set one.
The only way to bring my Nexus 7 booting was to flash stock rom and stock recovery via fastboot.
I´ve tried it two times but everytime i get the same problem.
Anyone know how to fix this?
P.S.: Sorry for my bad english
You get that error, because either you recovery or your partition is not f2fs. My guess is the second one. Try formating the Data partititon from your f2fs TWRP recovery.
This error is shown when I try to Format Data partition. And I realy have flashed both (right recovery and flashed the formatpartition.ZIP)

If I were you, I would revert back to full stock and start from there step-by-step.
Tried it a third time after flashing full stock. Also have downloaded the recovery and the zips a secound time. Now it works like it should
Thank you for your help

Please Help :(. Bootloop after re-flashing stock rom 6.0.1

Hello,
Please help me out guys
I tried for the 1st time to flash custom recovery TWRP - it worked.
Then, i immediately entered to TWRP and i tried to root my phone installing the supersu.zip. When i rebooted my phone - bootloop
In the end, I reflashed stock rom via ODIN but my phone still gets bootloop at SAMSUNG LOGO(NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE)
PS:If i try to enter stock recovery - first it appears "installing system update", then "no command" and then it enters the stock recovery, but nothing can solve the bootloop problem
please help
1.Why bootloop after rooting with the supersu.zip?Should i use the cfautoroot metod?
2.Why bootloop after reflashing stock rom?Never happened before!!!
Thanks!

J500F....
I think i managed to solve this...I was flashing the 1st update package .tar which was released for the J5 last summer
Flashing that - not working NOW, ALTHOUGH it worked a few months ago
Flashing .tar from SAMFIRMWARE - working!
But what about the root problem? Which way is the proper way to root your J500F 6.0.1 without bootloops&stuff

Nothing works: supersu.zip, cf auto root.zip....
i only get bootloops
After flashing using TWRP you should always clear dalvik cache,
The first boot always take some time, 2-5 min,
Before flashing anything try to do a nandroid backup,
The supersu.zip method worked for me,
There is a detailed thread on xda j5 forum on how to upgrade/downgrade and root your device,
After using Odin to flash a ROM enter recovery and wipe data then wipe cache
Sent from my SM-J500H using XDA Labs
Update:
1. It seems it ONLY works to flash 6.0.1 AFTER flashing 5.1.1.(so i have to always repeat this double procedure)
Reflashing 6.0.1 over 6.0.1 - NOT WORKING
2. About root problem - damn, i still can't make it work. I will try your advices and let you know what happened,
Thanks!

I've seen your PM.
I don't really have any idea. But I have a suggestion, although I don't know if it will solve your problem. Backup your stuff from internal memory before. Try to wipe everything including internal memory (internalsd in TWRP recovery), then turn off your phone and re-flash stock rom.
Hello, @Lawr3nce I followed this tutorial by @rjrulz007 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/how-to/tutorial-upgrade-j5-2015-to-6-0-t3443904 to root my j500h, I downloaded the supersu.zip from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703
Don't forget to backup your data before upgrading (you can use smart switch), after flashing using Odin go to recovery (stock recovery), wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition, this should solve the boot loop problem.
Before flashing the supersu zip file do a nandroid backup using TWRP (boot to TRRP, choose backup, select sdcard as save location then swipe to start backup. In case the flash of zip file failed choose restore and select the backup you did before, better than reflashing the whole ROM using Odin )

Ok, thank you all for the help. Conclusions:
1. For some reason, it NEVER works to flash directly the 6.0.1...I always have to flash the 5.1.1 first, then the 6.0.1.
2. I will try that root procedure from the link .
I am very willing to root it because i want to remove many useless preinstalled bloatwares from my phone
(due to very low free space i can't even update my apps)
UPDATE: That procedure with that .zip WORKS! THANKS
