Mod to saturate colors? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I have a Note 2 phone. I love the screen on it because the colors are really saturated and strong. My friend has a Galaxy S6. I noticed on his phone, and the new S7's, the color saturation is alot less no matter what the color profile.
If I got a S7 edge, is there a mod that I could do where the colors could be adjusted and saturated like the Note 2?

Dialing down the over saturated colors

At first I was put off by the Galaxy Tab 10.1's gaudy and over saturated colours. However, I discovered that on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 with TouchWiz that if you switch the Screen settings from "Standard" or "Dynamic" to "Film" you get much more natural and accurate colours.
I'm fairly critical about colour accuracy in my line of work so that was one of the first things I noticed about the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Most people applaud it for being vibrant and colourful, but to me the colours were inaccurate and artificial. Now I am much happier with the display.
its still a little off with the reds and whites but better than everything too saturated
i also calibrate my monitors for editing photograpgs, if only theres an app to calibrate the screen or a calibrated display mode.

I keep mine on Movie mode. The white are way too blown out on the other settings.
I also don't like the over saturated screen, it makes people in TV shows look like they spend too long in sun tan booth.
Along with mode change, I found select "Auto adjust screen power" help with balancing the over saturated screen.

Color shifting on Galaxy S4?

We all know Amoled is great in viewing angle when keeping the high brightness in any angle. But just the brightness, not the color.
My Note 2 becomes pretty greenish even with only a sight change in viewing angle, and it's worse than Galaxy S3. I think this is the problem of Note 2 weird pixel matrix. The best Amoled in term of color in my opinion is Lumia 820 with bright screen, very white and very very little in color shifting.
Galaxy S4 has a new matrix also, so I don't know abt the quality of color.

[Q} Way to Saturate Colors?

I have a Nexus S and I am thinking about the S4. I like how the colors are saturated on the Nexus S and have notice that isn't so on the S4. Is there a mod or a way to adjust the colors and make them saturated and be like the Nexus S color tone personality?

yellow tent screen .. white color is more yellowish

I have the note 3 n900 and i notice that the white color on the screen has an obvious yellow tint so i compare it with galaxy tab 2 10 inch and galaxy mega 5.8 inch ... and both devices shows the white color like a normal white not having this yellow tent on white color like my note 3 and the white color is more bright than my note 3 ... and i set the screen mod to dynamic mod cause its the least yellow tint of all other mods like standard or even adaptive mod.. so i don't know ... is it only my device or all note 3 devices are like that and do u compare its screen it with other samsung devicrs

I had a Galaxy S2, had yellowish tint on the display. I am unsure whether it had two variants or not, but I had the one which was officially sold in my country.
I had a Note 2, Exynos, yellowish tint was there but in less extent.
I had an S4, Exynos, there was almost no yellowish tint, at least that's what I can remember.
Now I have a Note 3, I don't have any yellowish tint at all, and I use movie mode. Turning on Adapt display or Dynamic makes the screen irritatingly cool/bluish. Honestly I could not be more happy with a phone's colour reproduction.
However I read a lot, and I saw that a lot of people possessing the Exynos variant, which is yours, are having this problem on GSMArena Note 3 page. You can see for yourself, just go back few pages. I think it has something to do with Exynos models only? Cause I have never heard a person having a Snapdragon variant complaining about this issue.
You can ask Samsung CC to replace the phone, only if you can show them how a display without any tint looks like, cause they are both arrogant and dumb.
Thanks 4 ur reply

Keep in mind that the Tab and Mega are LCD, not AMOLED. LCD has a pale blue hue, whereas AMOLED is much, much more saturated.
You really should compare it to another N900 unit, or an N9005.
As mentioned above, this is a problem that occurs on the Exynos version, but not the Snapdragon.
Thanks

washed out colors on P4 screen?

Just got my P4 today and observed that the colors are extremely muted compared to my P3. Is this the same for everyone?
I hadn't rooted my P3 and planned on using my P4 also that way. . But if this is the case and Google doesn't fix it, I'll have to root my P4 to change the display profile.

Same here. Looks awfully dull compared to my OnePlus 6.
Might be a silly question, but have you tried adjusting the color profile in settings to "Boosted"? Either way, Displaymate has already confirmed that the displays colors are extremely accurate and cover the entire DCI-P3 color gamut spectrum. So you may just be used to artificially oversaturated colors.

No doubt that is the case. Sadly I prefer a slightly oversaturated display. I have it on boosted now, I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.
Have you tried turning off Ambient EQ? I found the whites to be too warm with this on.
Im coming from the HTC 10, the pixel 4 is indeed less saturated, but the display is pretty damn good. Im using the adaptive settings, boosted increases saturation slightly
One thing I did notice when comparing to my Pixel 3 is that the 4 XL's screen is a lot warmer than the 3. I first thought of the "true tone" setting on the iPhone, but I don't remember google having anything like that.

I noticed it when I went from my P3 to the 3a. In sure it's similar. You really do get used to it when the display is so nice.
Strange, I have found the complete opposite. In the Tmobile store, the Pixel 4 had more pop and color than the S10. Also, in a s10 vs pixel 4 review on youtube the pixel clearly had more color and the s10 looked washed out.
Update : I went to the store and checked for a demo pixel 4. That had an amazing display. Vibrant colors and good white balance. That means I have a dud!
That means two display manufacturers? or just some bad units? or maybe software?
What I can't understand is that under settings->display->colors... Yo have "natural" "boosted" and "automatic"... and the automatic setting doesn't correspond to any of the first two... What does it mean?
You tried the saturated profile right? (Is it called now "adaptive"?)

I tried the Pixel 4 in a store and the natural setting doesn't look natural at all. I took photos with the camera app and the colors were definitely less saturated than reality. The adaptive setting produced more natural colors with the camera app. I wonder whether other users can confirm whether some units have a worse/better display?
I only know that previous Google phones had severe differences. Some Google phones seem to have a yellow tint, this happens for years. I remember that the store had a Pixel 3 XL or Pixel 3, which had an extreme yellow tint whereas a Pixel 3a looked great.
I can confirm this is true on my Pixel 4 as well. There is a very noticeable difference in color pop from the Pixel 3 to the Pixel 4, no matter what display setting I set. I originally thought it was the Amazon tempered glass screen protector, but I peeled it off and the dullness remained. Hopefully this gets fixed.
