Hello guys! The topic title is self-explanatory. How can I replace the emojis from Samsung by emojis Google standard? Is there any way to do this without root?
Thanks!

I haven't found any ways to do this without root.
But, if you decide to root, Emoji Switcher is a great app that I use every time, on all my phones for switching the emojis to either stock, or maybe apple emojis or any other

Too bad we don't have any way to do this without rooting the device. :crying:
But anyway, thanks for the help! :highfive:

Hi all, I would kindly ask you if this may work. I have a Root de La Vega-compatible Note 3. I would REALLY like to change the DPI of my phone, but would like to keep the possibility of having OTA upgrades, and the warranty. So I am asking you if this will work:
- Root De La Vega (no Knox tripping)
- Xposed - change DPI
- SU Full Unroot
Is it possible? Otherwise, do you know any other way to achieve my goal?
If not, I'll just wait for a couple of Samsung upgrades and then forget about OTA and Warranty...
Thanks.

Has anyone used app settings (XPosed) to change systemui dpi? Will this affect all apps or only the status bar, settings, ...?
Does this work at all ?

I tried it. It only modifies Recent Apps and Status Bar. Works great! I'm on 400 dpi now.
for real dpi change you gotta edit build.prop, and that gets overwritten on ota updates most likely, meaning you need root again to edit it then.

Meanwhile I noticed that if I change dpi I am likely to have to change most apps, they are not properly resized. At least that was on the Note 2. E.g. keyboard small and offset, phone app to, etc etc.
I am probably putting a pin in this for the moment, I'll wait for one or two official Samsung and then blast away everything, if a reasonable Rom is out.
I hope that the Note 3 sells a lot so we can get high-quality roms with S Pen support...

should be but you will need root and some build.prop editing maybe FwSpoof
Safety Care. I have not yet found an alternative, but if you know one I would appreciate it if you would share it with me.
Root is not an option on this device.
hmm

It's for the HTC One X. I'm not sure how easy it is to root it and if you keep the warranty/don't lose data.
I just took a quick peek and didn't see anything.

Hello
Very new to all this, as I've just switched from Apple to Samsung and my hand set is being delivered today.
I have a million questions, but the main one right now really is how do I go about Rooting my new phone, on EE without tripping KNOX?
I've been doing some research but I'd really appreciate someone with experience helping me as there's a million guides online, a lot from America, which is why I've given my provider above, as I'm unsure if this changes anything.
All help is appreciated
Why do you need to root?

For now, rooting will cause knox tripping and loss of Samsung pay possibility.
So my advice is to wait for some time if you want to keep knox and Samsung pay .
Personally I prefer wait the end of my warranty before rooting my device . But it's your choice.

Are you changing the DPI by editing build.prop directly or using a program?

You don't need root to change DPI:
Code:
adb shell wm density <DPI>
Then reboot:
Code:
adb reboot
I actually don't know the default density setting to restore things if you mess up. I should also add that I've not tried this on this particular device but it works on everything I tried it on.
Any idea what the default DPI is for the Edge+? My build.prop backup is bugging out. I show default as 160 in backup but that's too small to boot to.
ro.sf.lcd_density=560
Anyone tried to root S6 Edge+ with Engineering Bootloader? I have it on my old S6 and was perfect to keep KNOX 0x0.

Is this dpi change permanent?

Why root ?
Adblock
Titaniumbackup (unisntall/frozen app)
Kernel Modification
Xposed
Don't think I would ever be able to use a TouchWiz device without root and xposed

If you have root you can ofcourse flash custom fonts through twrp.. but method that I posted above works for non root users too and I am unrooted and all is working perfect.. and in the end all thanks goes to the respective devs who made these things available for us

Thank you for your quick reply, plus I already thanks the OP . Yes I rooted my phone and FLASHED this method through TWRP. However, I got bootloop and cant turn on the phone. I think this method did not work for Oreo.
