Rooting Issue

Ive got a weird issue that I cant seem to get around and I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
I got a replacement phone from Verizon last week. It came preinstalled with JB and since we have Towelroot now, I let it take the OTA update.
I rooted with Towelroot and when I went to install SuperSU, it tells me Knox is active and asks me to disable and I say yes. At that point, the phone just sits there and grinds on disabling Knox. Ive let it sit an hour and it still just sits there grinding on Knox. Its never finished disabling Knox the first time and Ive flashed the phone back to factory and re-rooted 4 times now, Everytime its the same.
If I reboot after that and re-run SuperSU, it gives me the Knox warning again and when I say Okay, it immediately says Knox is disabled.
Check root and it shows Im rooted and behaves as such.
Then the problems start. I start getting stuff FCing all over the place. Ive tried to do a Fix Permissions from within BusyBox and that didnt seem to help at all. I unrooted and the problems went away. I rooted again and they came back and then I got stuck on the SuperSU Binary Needs To Be Updated loop where every time I update, it fails and closes SuperSU.
Has anyone had this issue and if so, did you figure out a way around it?
I had Same errors installing Chainfire's SuperSu Pro
But all is working good now.
it Gives root to what ever I grant access to, so no complaints here.
I Have seen other posts with same issue so I am sure CF is aware and working on the issue.
Also, I have not had any FC's since rooting and installing SuperSu
Thanks for the reply.. I think the FCs are due to Knox not being disabled properly but Im not sure.
Did Knox disable okay for you?

Snapchat and Root

So, with Snapchat not working with anyone with a rooted device is there a workaround? Or do we have to wait until there is a work around? i've tried Xposed and some frameworks but that doesn't work either.
I only updated my phone today and haven't had an issue with Snapchat and root so I have no idea how long it's been going on for. Been looking across the internet and can't really come across anything solid so far, so apologies for another thread on the subject.
Sorry if this is the wrong area too.
Only solution I've found is us use the SuperSU app to uproot, then log in to SnapChat, then reroot.
If I unroot will that reset my phone or anything?
Once you do manage to log in, make a TB backup so you can restore the log-in in the future without having to unroot.
i can't log into Snapchat at all

snapchat and root are no problem the problem is that snapchat check if xposed is installed or not that's why it won't log in...snapchat don't work if xposed is installed...
uninstall xposed through twrp and log to snapchat after that re-install xposed twrp
- tapatalked - from my VANTABLACK S7 EDGE

I don't have Xpsoed installed at all, that's what i'm confused about .
You can login snapchat, but you have to install systemless supersu + systemless xposed +suhide + magisk7
I can get pass safetynet check (checked today)
What I ended up doing, which works, is I wiped my phone on TWRP, reinstalled my firmware (superman) chose not to install root/Xposed, downloaded/signed into Snapchat, then rooted my phone. Long winded but it works.
Backup your snapchat data from a unrooted phone. I used titanium and restore on rooted
Just use Casper instead of original snapchat app.

You are unable to sign into Snapchat if you have the Xposed Framework enabled or Rooted.
(Rooted has never been a issue with me)
But Xposed framework is normally the cause, Even if you used Xposed or not, If the framework is present you cannot Login.
Simple Open up Xposed App (If you installed Via Superman you have have enabled to option and installed it)
From there you have a option to uninstall.
Reboot and once booted back up, login. Once logged in use Titanium Backup to backup the App plus Data.
Reinstall Xposed Framework and you should still be logged into Snapchat.
If you ever have any issues, Delete the app and restore from your backup, you have no need to uninstall Xposed as the Data is restored from the app keeping you logged into the app

I have heard that just using suhide is enough to pass Snapchats new Root detection.
I have not tested as am still running the old version with Snaprefs

I hadnt had any problems whit SC and root untill 2 days ago either, easy fix is to unroot through the SU app, log into snap, and reflash superSU from TWRP.. worked for me

What option you used in SuperSU to unroot? I tried permanent unroot and it didnt work
Hello,
I've got a question about snapchat.
I'm sorry if im posting this in the wrong place, im new here!
I want to use snapchat 9.3.1.0 so i can use snapprefs.
I'm rooted and have xposed framework installed.
I am currently logged in in the newest snapchat version.
I made a backup of my snapchat with TB, deleted the new version of snapchat, installed snapchat 9.3.1.0, opened titanium backup and restored 'DATA ONLY'.
When i open snapchat, the app says: There are no snaps, and it says i've got no friends (which makes me sad). Any idea how i can fix this?
Thank you!
Lorenzo
It seems they recently changed things in an update. I have a rooted device with exposed, running superman rom. I used to just turn the switch off inside xposed, restart, login to snapchat, turn xposed back on and it was fine as long as I didn't log out. Now, none of that works.
My solution was to go to recovery, dirty flash my rom without root or xposed, login to snapchat, and go back and dirty flash again with root and xposed.
Way too much effort for snapchat, but it worked!

Keep loosing root

Hi guys,
I have Stock ROM (November Patches) with Elementalx Kernel, rooted (SR4-SuperSU-2.78) with magisk 9 and viper4android all systemless.
I know root is working as i check SuperSU when it boots, my adaway is working etc.
However every so often when i wake up i find my Titanium Backup fails due to no root.
I have no idea why it is loosing root or how. Hoping someone else knows?
So while posting this i had root, and now 30 minutes later root is gone..
Have you tried unchecking the "Re-authentication" checkbox in SuperSu/settings?

Its not enabled anyway.
Bump: anyone else getting this? I'm still having this issue
Magisk currently has an issue where root disappears after being booted for awhile a reboot fixes it, the developer knows of the bug it has to do with Magisk Hide.

Thanks, I did have a feeling it would be to do with Magisk but wanted to make sure first.
Hello, same here... A Reboot fixed it for a while, but them looses root...
I'm on Nexus 6P with Pure Nexus 7.1.2 and Franco Kernel.
Die someone try to reflash Magisk?

Pokémon GO - can't access latest version

Hi everyone,
I cannot seem to access the app. My device is rooted, got magisk, xposed and the rootcloak running. What is going wrong? Is it something due to the latest version of the app?

The same thing happened to me and I still dont know what to do but all I done was remove the app and never install it again. ?? Sorry I didn't help you but that's what I done
Maybe there is a workaround. If only anyone more experienced than us could help..
Pokémon Go use Safety net to detect modified devices. Root cloak does not work to hide root. You probably can't open the app with root/Xposed in any way. If you search in the SuHide thread you may find a work around but it's filled with reply and it will be hard to.
Use xposed systemless, every time that I want play pokemon, only switch off xposed, reboot, and it works... that's the only way to play pokemon

SM-T360 / Active root issue

I have done a few very successful roots in the past but have experirnced my first issue today with a newly rooted SM-T360 Tab4 Active. I used "CF-Auto-Root-rubenswifi-rubenswifixx-smt360" and Odin 3.12.3. The root passed with no error messages and I moved on. Installed Supersu Pro and ROM Toolbox Pro. Along with Root Checker. Here is my issue, after the tablet sits running for a while it seems to lose its root credentials. Supersu and root checker both report the same thing. I may have found a connection with busy box making it happen but I'm still not sure. Anybody ever had this issue before?
