Hey, for last week I was using the exynos s7e and I noticed that it freezes and reboots while fast scrolling through swiftkey themes. It generally freezers while using swiftkey keyboard, both themed and official. Any of you encounter similar problem?
I'm using the same device, but with swype. Everything working fine.
Nope, I'm using the SwiftKey and everything is fine.
Maybe the problem is in your rom?

Try rebooting the phone or uninstalling the program and reinstalling it. Either one of those has always fixed it for me.
Works well for me. I've been using it for a few days now. It's almost instant. Like said above try installing the app again.
I un-installed the included app and downloaded another one and it works fast, click and sends almost immediately.

Un installing work thanks guys. I guess I spent to long in the BB world and forgot the simple steps.
Has anybody notice that the swype keyboard dos not go to full screen.
This only happens on the att tap. I played I mean tested Tmoble & VW tab and both worked correctly.
I call Samsung and they told me that the att tad has an older version of swype on it and that I should return it for a new one, but all the ones I tried from att have the same problem. Att gave me a full refund.
If I reflash the tab will the swype keyboard work in full screen?

My Euro Tab with stock firmware wouldn't go "full-screen" in landscape with Swype, but flashing to a later firmware fixed it.
Regards,
Dave
If Tmob's swype.apk will work on AT&Ttab, I could upload if you want.
I would like to try it. Thanks

Here we go. I'm not responsible if you install these and your Tab is not working.
Please don't ask them to "fix" it. I had a T-Mobile tab, and hated the extra finger movement. If you want to touch type, switch to a normal keyboard, leave the nice compact swype alone.

i noticed something with the swype as well (on sprint). sometimes the kb would just disappear. i can't get it to go back up so i can type. usually happens on browsing.
rcb, how did it go? Thanks!

This is actually a better solution for swype use than the "newer" firmware, IMO.

After the Euro ROm flash to have voice call back, Swype disappeared on my AT&T tab. Wonder if I could just use Tmob one. I think I should be okay but wanted to check since he asked to try.
haven't had a chance too do it but thanks. I will let you know.
Cant downgrade
I have a Rogers Galaxy Tab and also have the smaller fullscreen swype. My Swype version is newer than what is posted here, I have 2.7.49.12483.
If I forcibly remove swype and install the one here, I can tap-type but swype seems to have no language set (greyed out in swype options) so I cant 'swype'. On reboot the device magically reverts to my newer Swype with small keyboard in landscape.
I would love to find a solution that allows me to run the old Swype on my Rogers tab.
(as an aside, SlideIT keyboard runs fullscreen on Tab, but I'd still prefer Swype)
The new swype beta will resolve the screen issue I believe.

no it didn't. new beta doesn't even include the GT screen size
what's wrong with this world???
I wasn't sure where to post this as it's kind of an odd problem.
With the default browser I am suddenly getting strange behavior with the back button... instead of going back a page in the history, it is jumping to the top of the page, or seemingly refreshing the page.
It did used to work fine, and this started after I rooted (although I have no idea what may have caused it).
I guess I am trying to find out if it is a known issue, or if anyone else may have experienced this.
Thanks.

Ok, great... weird that it's a kernel issue, but I'm happy that you were able to help me identify it. Thanks!
Is this the kernel you used to fix the issue? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109630
Also, I'm running Prime 1.4... have you reported the issue and fix in that thread? If not, I can mention it.
Thanks again.

Oh really? I've been having this problem and figured it was just a bug in the browser. I'll try the kernel to see if it fixes it.
Update: Oh wow, it works now, interesting.
it's happening across multiple devices. my gt10.1 just started doing it as well as my transformer. both at about the same time. so either some setting that i can't find was synced or it's just coincidence that both are getting weird on me at the same time.
nice to know that a custom kernel will the problems on both.
For me it only does this on the xda forums...every other site ive been to so far has worked normally.

same kernel didn't help me, still can't use back key and this is both stock and dolphin browser.
Opera work great.

Yeah, keyboard lag/misbehavior is frustrating wih the default browser. Opera is somewhat better. I'll try Firefox next.

Was yours also working ok before rooting?
This has been a rather annoying issue for me since 2.1.
However, it only happens while a page is loading. If you stop the page loading before hitting back it won't do it.

it was working before root yes, it was working after prime 1.4 was first flashed.
i try going back to stock kernel with no luck

Switching the theme under user CP in xda to xda classic fixed the problem for me. Strange issue for sure.

Gonna have to keep that in mind. Sites like Yahoo and CNN give me the same problems however. Only Opera work like it should, maybe something with flash?
Just flashed Prime v1.5 and it's working like it should.
Gonna flash a custom kernel to see what happen.
Ok, the problem returned, using kernel 13. I think its not quite as simple as a kernel issue.
I have a problem with all keyboards; Swype, Android, and Samsung. All of a sudden it hangs and and I can't continue typing a single letter, I have to reboot to be able to use any keyboard.
I have HT 3.2 and I have not rooted yet.
Anyone has the same problem? Any known fixes?
Thanks in advance!

Definitely not a known issue. Try downloading app cache cleaner from the market and clearing all cache. Also clear data for the market and browser.

Well he said he reboots his tab every time it hangs.. So that means he has already done that with no luck.

Fast reboot does a reboot like process and make the tab as if it has rebooted...but in 1 or 2 secs... Kills almost all the apps except those in auto restart
Ok I'll try the fast reboot. I tried clearing cache and memory but still the same!
Fast reboot did not help, the problem still the same!
This kept happening to me after the latest update, and yes, I had to reboot each time. Suddenly it stopped happening. I'm using Swype only.

Isn't life wonderful when things just fix themselves?
I often wonder how much of things fixing themselves is actually from something done during normal use that we're just unaware of.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
Well, I should then hope it would fix itself with me too!

Hello. It seems like my phone kills swiftkey from time to time. And that makes my phone seem slow when it has to reload it. Any way to keep it in memory? Have to use Samsung keyboard for now... :/

I don't have this kind of problem but I never used emoji prediction. In which language do you use it ? Maybe related to the language?
same here with Swype keyboard @Sgs6
It really seems that it gets kicked off from memory after some time. Is there any way to force it kept in memory?
I don't use emoji prediction either. And I do not have any lags on the keyboard at all!
I'm using UK English, i face randomly shut down swiftkey and other third party keyboard too. I used to owned S6, after upgraded to 5.1.1, problem started to occur... now having same problem with S6 Edge Plus. Sad...
same here (only with swiftkey) on sony z ultra on 412 (cane be bothered updating yet).
emoji etc off. only happened a few updates ago. typing away and keyboard randomly closes. after waiting 30 seconds and repeatedly clicking in text area the keyboard pops back up and works for a while. reboot and same behaviour, same if wipe data etc.
might try wiping data and unlinking from my acc. if not that IMO has to be the app as OS hasn't changed (rooted and no OTA updates).
I ditched Swiftkey because it seems laggy and slow for me. With other keyboards I have no problems.
It's a bug of SwiftKey since 5.4. I have reported it several times with explinations, screencasts etc. They simply refuse to aknowledge they screwed up the app. So I'm using samsung keyboard, which, by the way, uses Swiftkey SDK.
Did you look at the App Optimization system? I have disabled Swiftkey there, to avoid having the system closing it after a certain time, and everything seems to be ok for now.
I noticed it lags a lot on the Edge Plus too which is ridiculous because of how fast the phone is, I have been trying out other keyboards and one that came close to swiftkey for me was Minuum Keyboard it has some really good prediction even for really sloppy fast typing.
I have read on a another topic that this is caused by the Samsung firmware itself. It detects SwiftKey as low priority and kills it whenever possible, even when you are using it (which is kind of ridiculous?)
I've read that if you disable spcm in build.prop (requires root) the issue will be fixed. I hope that Samsung does something with it soon as the same problem has been on touchwiz since the start..
So not only the edge+ that has the issue, I got the International S6 (920F) and I need to live with that issue... Almost considered rooting and voiding my warranty because of this and the terrible ram management.

EDIT: (found a working workaround
Try this; it might help you along the way:
