Anyone else getting issues with Google maps losing gps signal? Is this related to the build? I have a gold 64 GB model. Everything else works fine

Still waiting.
I'm still stuck on NRD90T. Still haven't got 90U. I do have Nougat just not 90U.
This issue is not resolving itself I'm about to head back to my 6s plus. I GPS stuff way too much to have this issue

I had the same issue. I did a factory reset from recovery mode, cleared cache and then I flashed the nrd90u again and now everything is working fine. Hope that helps!

How did you install U?
And do you have the same problem when LTE/3G is OFF?
Clean flashed NRD90U. Stock rooted. Noticed GPS startup delays on Maps (like up to 60 seconds, sometimes it is fine), seems to be OK after I get that first lock. GPS set to high accuracy. Definitely a change from MM.

Hey guys. Really really love my new n7 its amazing.
Of course the moment I got it home I rooted it and installed a few roms! You just have to!
I'm currently on paranoid android 2.23 with no kernel change.
My issue is this: my GPS won't lock at all! Google maps with GPS enabled without wifi always returns location unavailable.
I'm almost 100% sure the nexus has GPS so what's the problem?
Anyone having this issue or any solutions?

I can second that, it runs perfectly. Try a clean install.
Try GPS Status from the market and go to tools and erase the location assistant data then download assistance. Also GPS Status also shows you if you are picking up satellites and just not getting a lock. If you get even one lock just be patient and you will get the other ones you need eventually.
Your first lock in awhile is going to take longer because the GPS logic assumes you have changed locations and does a cold start up.
Give it some help and go outside with at least a decent look at the sky keep it in one place.
I haven't had top do this in a long time but sometimes if I had toggled GPS from on to off I wouldn't get a lock but rebooting with GPS toggled on would fix it.
And a few times reflashing the same kernel would fix a flakey GPS

GPS status is pretty good app! Thank you for suggesting it.
GPS status showed 9 sat and 9 locks, but maps didn't work still.
I then did the reset and download and now maps locks me and shows location.
Thank you!
This might be a little off topic but what exactly does the assistant data do?

Yes, Google hastily and sloppily killed it as a quick security fix. The issue has been reported back to Google to implement a better / alternative solution.
If it's important to you, please go to the link below and 'star' the issue so it gets Google's attention quicker.
Bring back the ability to toggle airplane mode, or a way to enable/disable the cellular radio without affecting other radios

Been using Better WiFi On off for now.
I only got my n7 a couple of weeks ago and almost immediately updated to 4.2. I didn't notice any issues. Immediately after the 4.2.1 update I keep getting random connection issues. I have to turn wifi off and on to resolve it.

I had the issue.. 32gb version in the US with the sep build. I actually had it prior to to 4.2.1. I ended up going into advanced properties and changing wifi to always on. Drains battery, but fewer need to turn wifi off and back on.

No wifi internet / e-mail / notifications after 4.2.1
I am having a similar issue. Stock Nexus 7, never rooted, installed the 4.2.1 update when it was pushed. Since then I can connect to wifi connections but there is no internet access. While the icon in the upper right has small flashing arrow like data is being sent back and forth, the icon remains gray and no internet-requiring services on the tablet work. I've tried everything that I (and Google Play and Asus support) could think of with no luck.
The only thing they could come up with at the end was to restore the tablet to factory settings. Unfortunately I have application data that I need to back up that I can't access by accessing the internal storage using my laptop (I'm stock, remember?).
So I'm between a rock and a hard place here. Anyone have any suggestions? It was very frustrating when the Asus representative suggested I use the built-in backup and restore feature:
Me: "That requires internet access to work right?
Asus representative: "Oh....right..."
My Wi-Fi on both my Nexus 7's is very slow. They stay connected fine but I'm getting about 150kbps download speeds. I factory reset one of them to no prevail. Anyone have any insight on this or heard of others with this issue? All my other devices work fine on the same Wi-Fi connection and I tried turning everything else off so just the Nexi where connected to see if the speeds are faster, but they aren't. I'm stock on both devices and both are the 16gb version, one older than the other.

Known issue. I logged a bug with Google and there's actually several open bugs reporting wifi issues. So far, none of the bugs are being picked up by google officially.

I've tried this same thing, and as soon as I installed 4.2, WiFi went to sh**. Completely stock.
So turning wifi off then on seems to be the generally excepted quick fix?

Or use Static IPs. That solved it for me. I had to ask my company to provide a reservation for my MAC Address. It's like back in the 90s when Wifi started coming out using the BellLabs/Lucent chipset.
Hey guys so I had this problem even on stock 6.0.1 right out the box. I then received updates thinking they would fix it, but didn't. I eventually wanted to flash pure nexus so I did that (not thinking it was going to be a fix) but I'm still getting it so it must be a google fi issue itself, right?
Has anybody been able to find a fix for this?

If you are connected to sprint then data is disabled. If connected to T-Mobile then data is enabled. Just figured this out today. Hope they will fix this issue.

Nexus 6p on nougat 7.0 every once in a while the LTE symbol disappears and I have no data. Only fix is to reset phone! Tried toggling cellular data, and toggling airplane mode, sonar it's worked once to return data. Otherwise power cycle returns data. Anyone else experiencing this! Phone is refurbished but has been working great. Just trying to figure out if this is software or hardware related....thanks.

The software itself yes, but carrier wise no.
T-Mobile has been having ongoing LTE issues for some time now in some areas. When I had my Note 5, had to constantly reboot to get LTE or any other data connectivity back.
I think it's only the T-Mobile and Project Fi (T-Mobile side) are having issues still.

Same here and when it happens, i use app lte on off app. Easy.
I have this same problem on TMO. If I try to use any radio higher than 2.50 (have tested all the way up to 3.75) my data will suddenly drop completely out of nowhere and not come back until I reboot. There seem to be certain areas near me that always make this happen when on those radios. I wonder if this is a regional issue or a hardware issue, doesn't seem to affect that many people.
I've also been dealing with issue. I'm almost certain it's an issue just with T-Mobile and maybe the phone communicating with towers. Went to d.c. not too long ago and didn't experience any issues but the same day I retuned to Pittsburgh the issue returned

My stock 7.1.1 6p on t-mobile has just recently been having this issue. I was considering factory resetting but my wife's 6p sometimes has the same issue so maybe it's t-mobile. But why would rebooting fix it? Is this still a problem for other people?

This issue seems to be occurring to me as well. T-mobile is my carrier. It is really annoying since the only way out is to hard reboot the phone. You can't go into airplane mode and turn it off to get a signal like normal. Not quite sure what the issue is. It has happened on both stock and flashed roms. I have tried to see look at a logcat of the problem but it is a bit above my technical understanding.
I'm on the latest radio and bootloader and the problem is still occurring.
I think it happens when:
- Going away from wifi-coverage
- Going into area with poor cellular coverage
It's possible that being on 2G/3G may avoid the issue, but of course the speed sucks. I just tried going on 2G/3G and toggled wifi a few times. So far, mobile data is still ok. But the instant I enable LTE, mobile data is loss. Switching down to 2G/3G doesn't help. So another possible cause is:
- Switching from 2G/3G
My guess is that there is a bug with the LTE code on the phone that got introduced with a recent update.
Has been happening recently to me too as of last week. Random connection dropping for a few seconds. Usually, it will reconnect quickly and it'll show full signal, then it might die, or it might stay connected.
