I get a strange problem and hope someone knows how to explain the solution.
Not having the Nexus 6p on the FM radio, sometimes listening to radio programs via the web (the default browser, Chrome). Very often (every 15-20 sec.) Stops the sound, on the site screen play (>) button becomes pause, and then every time I turn the screen, to give even the play command.
Often the same thing happens if I listen to music (Pro Player). The player starts spontaneously break and so I have to give back the play command to resume the music.
If I watch a video with Youtube all goes well, without any interruption.
All this happens with or without headphones.
I apologize for my English is not good, but I hope I have described the problem in an understandable way?
Explanation? Solution?
Thanks.

Ok, I know there's a few posts around here about the crazy headset events being miscommunicated from headphones without controls.
(Just incase anyones unaware, some people are reporting that a regular pair of headphones with no mic or playback controls interferes with the music player and starts randomly skipping etc (extremely frustrating). This hasn't been fixed by HTC yet, but the app 'Headset Blocker' did the trick for me perfectly...)
...However it's back! But this time when playing video. It doesn't skip it just pauses and unpauses randomly.
So I'm on the train watching some tv shows through the stock video player and it pauses and unpauses all the time. When it pauses I just unpause it and maybe watch about 10-20 secs of video. but sometimes it unpauses by itself just before I try, so I end up pausing it again! This little game of silly buggers can get really annoying.
It's like the video player can see my thumb coming towards the screen to unpause it and then it unpauses just in time for me to pause it again......
AAAAArrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhh the infuriating, frustratingly crazy madness....count to 10 ......and ....relax
Anyone (preferably HTC) with a solution will go straight to the top of my Christmas card list.
I have the same problem, when I connect the DHD to my auto radio!!! Anyone know if it is possible to disable the headset controls?
Thanks....
Your problem can be easily fixed with the app 'Headset Blocker' (as mentioned in my first post).
My problem is different from yours.
Thanks. Yes, it works.......should just read your post more carefull. Have you found a solution to the video playback?
Hi,
I've been trying to use Google listen to play BBC podcasts, but the audio quality seems very poor. With the screen on I get various cracks and pops during playback, and once the screen turns off the play back pauses every 20-30 seconds. I don't think this is any sort of network issue as listen downloads the podcast and plays the downloaded version rather than streaming it.
Anyone see the same or have any suggestions for improving playback?
Thanks
Andy
Hi,
Often, while listening to music in my car, the audio will randomly, and spontaneously, pause for no apparent reason. Sometimes it will start up again after a few seconds, but usually I'll have to hit 'play' myself. This problem is particularly apparent in Spotify, but it has happened in YouTube and Google Play Music as well. Has anyone else experienced this?
Are you plugged in? My first thought is a loose (or breaking) 3.5 mm cord.
Playback in any of those apps will auto pause when a connection is lost (bt or a cord). If you're on bt do other phones do the same thing?

Nope, connected via BT to my car's audio system. Didn't have this problem on my OnePlus One.
This happened to me and I was paying through my speakers

The last two days I have this problem too.
Parrot carkit,Lg watch,ue megaboom.
The music is sometimes lost, and then it starts again.
On my megaboom it cracks a lot.
Very annoying.
Frank_Murphy,
I have this issue as well only with the Google Music app. I can't find the source where I read it but it has something to do with the app and if there is an available video; Some songs have a wallpaper or something and some you can play a music video in the app for the song instead. You just have to hit the back/forward button and it resumes.

I recently flashed QB2 on my G-900V and since then I've noticed that when I watch videos on YouTube or use Google Play Music, headphones or not, the volume will drop and go back to where it's set. This is repeated for about 10-15 minutes and when I'm listening to Play Music I'll get the error that the selected song cannot be played. With YouTube it seems as though the device is having a hard time keeping a constant connection and sometimes either or both applications have quit working. I also use TuneIn and tried listening to it and it will constantly pause and unpause. I'll gladly take any/all suggestions as this is extremely annoying.
Happens everyday (even with my S6). It'll stop when audio is playing for a bit, or after I hit the volume button. It doesn't do it constantly through out the day, but it'll happen atleast once everyday i'm listening to audio. Anyone else?
Anyone?
It is happening with my S8 either when playing games or youtube and even music.
This problem started after the software update. So i think it is a software issue..
Whenever the sound cut off, i just lock the screen and unlock it back....
Hope Samsung will release a software update as soo as possible
Games is fine for me, it's just players like YouTube, music apps, and players inside websites. Just gotta press play again. Pretty annoying, but happens atleast once a day, not constantly through out the day.
It happens to me in Youtube and NBA app when video is being played.
Sometimes the screen just shuts off completely too.
I agree it's not consistent.
To add, sound not working sometimes when i am using skype and even sometimes for my alarms.
What do you think, is it a software problem or hardware?
Seems to happen more through out the day now. It's pretty annoying.
This just started happening to me yesterday. I've tried restarting my phone, pausing the video and playing it again, turning the volume all the way down then back up. All of those things restore the sound but it'll cut out a few seconds later. Also audio plays just fine in my headphones.
I dont have my s8 yet, but this sounds like a problem I used to have on a previous galaxy s phone (i think it may have been the s4). It turned out I had a setting enabled where the player pauses or stops when I'm not looking at the screen. It's called smart pause. Could be something similar although i'm not sure.
Uggg
Same problem here. Got the s8 less than a week ago and I use spotify offline (downloaded) and Google Music for downloaded files and it always pauses after about 15 minutes, sometimes sooner. I don't use battery saver, and none of the 'smart' features are enabled. It happens with headphones, without headphones, on Bluetooth. Just pauses the song and I have to hit play again, super annoying and I can't find any fix. I'm really regretting this purchase.
I also have S8 and currently experiencing this kind of issue. Every after 1 minute of playing either youtube or videos on my phone it paused and I didn't even clicked it.
I have a problem like this on my s7edge. Then I thought it can be related third party apps. And yes when I uninstall Sputnik news app, it solves the problem.
