Hi everyone. I apologize if this type of post is not allowed. I have been mulling over the s7e SNAPDRAGON and the HTC 10 for the past 2 weeks. Id buy the s7e on swappa so price is the same.
The biggest things for me are software feel, camera, and battery. I like stock android alot. So the htc 10 looks sweet. But then theres samsungs theme engine. Now Im coming from and S4 so theming was light if any. What I'm seeing from the s7e blows my mind. The only reason I used to room my s4 was for different themes so no root on the 820 doesnt bother me especially with the new theme engine. The fact it themes everything is amazing. Not sure if the HTC 10 does this or not but with stock android look its not as important but it would be nice to change it up every once in a while.
The camera on both of these phones look amazing. Expecially the low light. I know the s7e is a little better in low light but its not a huge enough difference to completely be the deciding factor for me. The focus speed on the s7e looks absolutely insane. I do like the over saturated look of the pics on the s7e but not the yellowish tint. Video also looks very stable and not shakey. The htc 10 looks to be on par with video.
Battery life looks like something the s7e beats the 10 easily. Ive seen the 10 get anywhere from 4-5 sot. The s7e 820 seems to get above 5 hrs sot? right? anyone chime in on this. On reddit and the forums its hard to tell sometimes if its exynos or 820.
Does the s7e ever get hot or warm to the touch? my s4 feels like a burning rock in my pocket sometimes lol. Hows tw lag? is it alot better than it used to be? or is it just good out of the box then it shows up again?
Speaker quality isnt a huge deal as all i watch are youtube videos or plug my phone into my car.
Updates are another thing that bothers me also. HTC has a very good record of updating phones fast. Samsung not so much. Well more so the carriers. The htc 10 i have preordered is unlocked. The S7e Id get is Tmobile variant. Id try to get exynos but Id like to get a phone with the manufactures warranty. Also hear the exynos is hard to get repaired as Samsung doesnt like to repair it in the USA.
The whole usb c vs micro doesnt bother me much but I do like that C seems to be more sturdy and durable.
so what doesnt everyone think I should do? Whats your experience compared to what Ive heard? Are my thots right? to servere? am I way off? All imput is welcome Anyone here in the same position or leaving the s7e for the 10? or just decided on the s7e over the 10 and why?
Thanks guys! :fingers-crossed::good::good:
S7 Edge Pros:
- Bigger screen at the same size (which is a really big deal)
- As far as camera and battery goes, I think the S7 Edge has a clear edge Dual-pixel tech in a smartphone is a very big deal, Canon still saves this technology for their very best cameras.
- Battery - 3600 vs 3000 mAh - enough said.
- Screen efficiency - AMOLED vs TFT (that's why you get great SOT on the S7 Edge, but poor standby times on the SD820)
- Wireless charging if you want to protect your USB port over time.
- Much better technical support if you need it (hopefully not). Much better country presence.
- If the Always-On Display will ever be upgraded to display all notifications (not only missed calls and SMS messages) this will be a huge pro
HTC 10 Pros:
- Always-on fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor needs home button press to work on the S7, which is stupid in 2016. It should be always-on. So I have it disabled, if it would be touch-only I would enable it.
- Speakers (but I don't care for this).

thanks for the reply How has ur experience been with touchwiz? Any lag? do you have the sd820? what sot do you usually get? Screen size isnt a huge deal for me .3 inches. Id rather have the battery life instead of AOD. Im not sure if id use wireless charging. The extra charging option would be nice incase but i always worry that the battery degrades faster over time with wireless charging. Having to clock the fingerprint home button is a negative for me. My s4 made an annoying crunch sounds when it was click. Its it a more shallow click now? Same for me I dont care really about speakers so there moot on the 10. Also for me its sense ui and faster updates vs Touchwiz and slow updates.

I have the Exynos.
I never hated TouchWiz and I think it is ok, no lag whatsoever, but I use Nova Launcher solely because I need double-tap to sleep. But I do have a dark theme set overall and it's great. Theming is a major plus.
The difference in screen size is big, around 20% in surface area. I had a 5.2" LG G2 and it's very noticeable.
The button clicking sound is bad enough and the press is not shallow. Home button is also raised (stupidly, should be sunken) and it could click in your pocket if you don't have a proper case. But I found a workaround, I hold the phone in the front pocket with the upper part down, this almost eliminates the issue.
About the updates, I don't really care, because it works really well as it is (except for the last update which ruined battery life for Exynos and made it similar to SD820). However, for the record, the International version received like 3-4 updates since launch, each brought something new (some good things, some really bad things).
Coming from someone who ended up hating touch wiz, I really dig it this time around. It's so much closer to stock and cleaner. They did good with it this time. I'm also coming from the HTC One M7 and M8, and I have zero interest in the 10.
The camera in the S7 blows away the HTC. I've seen a lot of screenshots of the HTC, and that and the S7 next to each other, and the HTC is actually fairly grainy. Pretty unacceptable, especially the last 4 phones, new one included having a bad camera. The S7 pictures are incredibly clear, the best I have seen on a phone personally. And the low-light is crazy.
The speaker on the S7 is actually very loud and fairly clear.
The screen size is much better on the S7 Edge. Plus the phone is almost the same size, another thing I hated about the HTC phones, they waste sooo much space on the phone.
The Edge places app is pretty convenient. It sets different settings on your phone based on location and/or WiFi/Bluetooth. Works great for me since I always forget to silence my phone when I get to work.
Can't say much about battery life in comparison since I have not read any real, long-term reviews on the HTC. But my S7 Edge gets nearly two full days in between charges on the regular.
Updates... I don't agree with you there regarding HTC. I have NEVER gotten an Android update within their 90 day BS. And that seems to be solely for new Android versions. Any updates to Android seem to either come way later than that, or never. My One M8 updated to Lollipop in March '15, then didn't get another update until December-which was not to fix anything, just Stagefright. And Lollipop did NOT work well at all, and HTC left us behind and wouldn't fix anything that was broken. That's where they really lost me.
Anyway, my $0.02

Well, their lack of doing something new for one. The M7 I think looked the best and was the best size. The 8 just got larger without much added to screen size. The camera was really bad. And this new one seems more of the same to me. All they did was chamfered the back, otherwise is identical to the M8 and M9, then they changed the front to look just like every other Android phone now, except the top and bottom bars are obnoxiously big.
Honestly, the biggest is definitely them leaving us in the dark with updates and letting our phones go on not working right indefinitely. You just can't decide to stop supporting your phones and customers if you want to stay in business. The M8 didn't even need the latest Android, it just needed HTC software fixes to make it work, but those never happened...
Anyway, to each their own. The 10 may be a bada$$ phone. I'm just really loving this Edge.

Snapdragon for Verizon. I had to meddle with the settings a bit, but I get nearly two full days every charge. I'm a fairly moderate user though, not really any gaming, just a lot of email (work), fitness stuff, and Facebook/LinkedIn/etc.

Sounds like me lol reddit email twitter youtube. Do you know how many hours of SOT you get? Ill be getting the tmobile snapdragon one
Honestly, just go to a store and play with each of them. Of course it's always personal preference.
S7E.
Why?
3600mah vs 3000mah
5'5 vs 5'2 display
Look of the s7e to me is nicer.
posting on the S7E thread, i guess you will get more positive for the S7E than the 10?
that being said, S7E for me. best phone i have owned.
Same. ?
If you want ROMs, root, and Xposed get the 10 or Exynos S7 edge.
If you were thinking s7 or m10 I'd probably say m10 but we have the edge and this phone is the best you can get, so I'd say S7 Edge no question.
Sent from my Gold S7 Edge
personal preference really
if size doesn't matter then HTC 10.
Speaker Sound HTC
Software HTC 10 (closer to stock)
Look Design S7E
XDA Development and support HTC 10
Camera Video S7E
Practical daily use HTC 10
Waterproof S7E
Due to HTC being only 5.2 i've gone with S7E bigger screen but i still hate TW.
I love my 6P.... Love the updates and all the custom ROMs, love the front facing speakers too.....But have wanted an "Edge" ever since they were first released.
Today, while at work, someone seen my 6P and asked me a few questions and then said he had a 1 month old 32gb S7 edge he'd trade me straight across for my 6P??? I told him I'd have to think it over and let him know later..... So, what's everyone think?
Reasons I'd keep the 6P
* Custom ROMs galore!! One of the best supported phones are NEXUS phones
* Future proof for updates for several years
* Front facing speakers
>>> I'm a HUGE music lover and check out music equipment (I'm a guitar player) on YouTube quite often
>>> On those days when you just want to lay in bed, the front speakers are great for watching NetFlix without having to cup your hand around the bottom of the phone just to hear it
* I already gave away most of my micro-USB cables and replaced them with USB-C cables - EVERYWHERE
Reasons I'd switch (are the same reasons I love it):
* Custom ROMs -
>>> I get too tied up in the whole custom ROM thing and sometimes spend several hours a day flashing custom ROMs.
>>> I am checking XDA 2-6 times per hour for updates or new ROMs, to the point it affects my work some days (when new ROMs come out while I'm at work). I've tried to control it and block XDA, but I am really addicted to it and have thought about going back to a flip phone sometimes just to free up several hours a day and keep me working when I'm supposed to be.
* Front facing speakers -
>>> Lets face it, the speakers aren't that great (compared to the HTC stereo speakers). Sitting on my desk, 3 feet away I really can't hear any stereo separation and might as well have a single speaker
>>> They really don't sound as good as many single speaker phones
* I wouldn't mind having a smaller, lighter phone....I've got tendinitis from years of playing guitar and the heavy phone sometimes hurts to use for long periods... But after a case it'll be about the same.
Take it. If you like it, ok, if not, you can sell it for more than a brand new 64gb 6p. You can come home for free.
personally I would keep my 6p. The Edge is kind of gimmicky. the 6p is pure Android it's what I love about it. I love the larger screen, it's kinda hard to go back to a smaller screen after the 6p. can't stand the Samsung bloatware and the delay updates. I love everything about the 6p the only thing I don't like is the button positioning. I keep accidentally hitting the volume button.
Lol, what a thread. Why don't you ask your beauty therapist?
Seriously, it's your decision, why even spam the forum with your indecision? There are enough comparisons between the two phones, just do a bit of googling

I just traded my S7 for the 6P. Can't beat the buttery smoothness and customizations. Believe me, S7 is still laggy even with the reviews praising the touch wiz. I took a downgrade in the camera department, S7 really does have an awesome camera. But the itch to have pure Android and butter smoothness wins hands down.

Toss a coin: Head's it's a Nexus6p or Tails it's a Nexus6p!
It's a win-win...

Yeah, after reading so many reviews... The S7 does seem like the clear winner, but I'm not sure I can live with the crappy single speaker?? And most say the speed/smoothness is better on the 6P, but it's just apples vs oranges on most of it.
I really wouldn't use Touchwiz, I'd use Nova launcher, but I guess I'd sill have the Touchwiz menu's and pull-down.
I know some say "get the S7 and sell it", but I only have one phone and can't really do that.. So I'd be stuck with it unless I got another local deal.
I had an s7 edge for about 2 weeks before I got the 6p. The edge was nice, however I prefer the 6p. Stock android is better than touchwiz. Has the edge been rooted yet? It had not been when I had it. I did not like not being able to block ads in chrome. I returned mine to AT&T and lost out on getting a free TV with it. I also lost out on a $150 bill credit because I returned it. I don't regret it. Keep the 6p!
You're gonna miss the speakers and the stock Android experience.
The edge is dumb. Its gimicky and has almost no useful use. I had the Galaxy S6 edge.
And most of all the edge is hard as FU*K to hold.
I had a choice of buying either the S7 Edge or Nexus 6P just a couple of weeks ago, one of the main reasons for getting the 6P over the S7 Edge was updates, Android N will be out end of Summer the S7 Edge will not see it until sometime early next year.

no offence meant, xda is for helping each other out, if you can't add anything important, then please dont post replies. there are many users back here who are ready to help the op out.
This is my first Nexus device. I love the smoothness and appreciate the fast updates. I don't think you can go wrong with either phone, more so if you change phones often. But if I were asked I would say hands down stay with the Nexus. These days I have learnt to appreciate the faster updates, especially the security updates. Samsung is notoriously slow with the updates. And you're on AT&T too? Updates are a foreign word to you (trust me, I had the AT&T Note5). But it comes down to what your priorities are.
I gave up on Sammy after my MDK S4 (the last of the unlockable Galaxies). Screw that Knox BS.
I was also thinking about selling my 6P for the edge, but I'm on Verizon and who knows when I would see android N there. Furthermore, my phone would be locked down to VZW and I don't like that, their bloatware, etc. The only thing that the S7 edge has on its side is a better camera, better battery life (maybe), and gaming performance (I don't play hardcore games), better screen (but smaller), nicer build quality (maybe?). After that, it goes downhill fast. Only 32GB? And you can only use 20GB of internal because of the TouchWiz hog. You can add a SD card, but can't transfer bloatware apps. I think I'm juts going to keep my 6P 128GB and wait for android N.
I came from the s7 edge to nexus 6p and i love this damn phone i will never get a samsung phone again and as for memory got the 128 one.
Personally, I would go for the S7 Edge. I've had both phones and while the 6P is smoother (not faster), the S7 Edge just offers more overall. Better build quality, better camera (imo), wireless charging built in, water resistance and much more software features built in without having to root or install a bunch of extra apps.
Sure you won't get software updates nearly as fast, but I'm starting to realize that those are somewhat overrated after having both. The couple 6P updates while I had that phone did more harm than good. I lost LTE frequently on AT&T which was a known issue with those couple of updates. With the super fast updates, we are almost like beta testers for Google.
While that's fun and exciting for a while, I'm at a point in my life and career where I need a stable phone with thoroughly tested software. As crazy as that sounds with all the complaints I've made about slow updates on AT&T in the past lol.
Another tidbit is that I've already received 3 software updates on my AT&T S7 Edge since I've had it. They have definitely gotten better about it so far. With Google now offering incentives to carriers, I hope the trend continues!
But at the end of the day the choice is yours. Like someone else said before, make the trade and then sell the S7 Edge for more than you can get another 6P for if you are unsure. And if having a transition device is an issue, just grab a cheap under $50 phone from Craigslist or something. I always have a cheap BLU phone on deck for transitions lol.
Good luck!
I actually have both and yes the 6p is a little smoother but the battery on my s7 edge lasts quite a bit longer. I go back to my 6p just for a day or so and use the edge for weeks at a time. I cant seem to make myself use the 6p for more then a day. The screen and the camera are unreal. also the 6p shows massive amounts of finger prints and the edge does not
Biggest reason never to buy Samdung is KNOX.
Nuff said.
Hello guys, i just want to ask from users of s7 edge if anyone here before owned a nexus 6p. I have a s7e now (via contract 2 years) never had a 6p and im thinking of selling it because i feel uncomfortable coz of the curves, i had a g4 and it was really a very good phone overall. I tried holding a 6p and i can say it is really a huge phone (powered off so i didnt see the actual display and never played with). I am also fan of custom roms, as for the s7e the development is not going too far like the nexus devices.
So anybody here from nexus 6p owner that own a s7e now? How does it feel? Are you still thinking of going back?
I found a 64gb at 429 euro. Any suggestions?
I didn't own the 6p but had a close look at it before committing to the S7E.
It is built well but quite a bit larger than the S7E. It will surely be easier to keep clean than the Edge but if you add a case, you'll end up with a very large phone.
I didn't like the display. It is both dimmer and especially the whites were not as clean. I also didn't like the large'ish display borders.
The phone looks good switched off
The camera is reported to be decent but I wouldn't expect the same results as from the Galaxy.
Not water resistant either.
As regards rooting, you can root some of the S7's. Personally I have no problem with the latest touchwhizz. The phone runs like greased lighting and I have no need to root.
For me it was an easy choice to go with the Edge.
I also had an Op3 for a couple of weeks before selling it on. I would suggest that phone over the 6P.
switched from the 6p to the 7E and I have no regrets, the 6p is huge, hardly fit in my jeans' pockets, the camera was meh too (compared to the S6 I had before and to the S7E). Also I kinda need a SD card. I love my S7E, it's not perfect but I love it.
I have a 6p still and the s7 edge. Haven't turned on my 6p for 2 months now lol. Love nexus for pure Android but I like the display much better on s7 including brightness and the much smaller bezels and phone size in general. Actually I love the edge screen as Well.

I have both, the S7 Edge first.
The S7E is my main device and the only real reason I have the 6P is because I managed to find it really cheap.
I LOVE the 6P.
It's much faster (obviously, it's vanilla Android), and in my opinion it's a better "in-the-hand" feel even though it's huge.
However, the S7E has a far superior camera, much better single-hand usage (if that's at all important), and a far better screen.
Don't get me wrong, the screen on the 6p is fantastic, but it isn't as bright, or as white.
I quite like the 6p, so much so that it's my "Spotify" device, as well as my travelling phone.
However, for me, the S7E is a far better phone for multimedia and for people who have little or no interest in modifying Android.
That being said, the Android N Dev preview on my 6p is great.
But yeah, the s7E wins when it comes to media and ease of use.
It has all of the gimmicks, but the 6p is smooth, fast and reliable.
In my opinion; it's just huge and cumbersome.

Thanks
Thank you everyone who replied here.
I was considering selling my S7 Edge for a 6P or OP3 but after reading the comments here I've definitely decided to keep the S7. I use it like a pc and coupled with root and Xposed it's just daft! Simplest way to put it tbh. Fast, reliable and so many capabilities. Cm13 would slow this beast down, simple. Torrents plus USB connector and you're the guy sticking the latest media on any device pretty much anywhere too.

Agreed. I have had all 3 and would recommend the OP3 over the 6P. And I recommend the S7 Edge over both of them.

In all fairness, there was only going to be one choice on this particular forum.
Perhaps post a similar question on the 6p one. There have, I think, been some that changed to the 6p and were happy in the process.
Neither one are bad phones. Neither are perfect.
The S7e is just more perfect imho

specs wise? yes. the fact that the 4s is a mid range phone and it costs way less, it does half of the things the s7 cant do

What does it do that the S7 can't do? Other than speakers, boom button and upside down UI, I can't think of any. And I find two out of those three things gimmicks BTW.
And let's not forget about all the things the S7 Edge can do that the Alcatel can't do either.

In my experience, the 6p stutters a lot less than the S7E, and I also have the Exynos UK version.
The S7E is a great phone, it isn't slow by any means! But perhaps the only reason I'm experiencing slowdowns on the S7E is due to it being my main phone; so all of my apps and their data are there..
However, the 6p definitely surprised me.

other than the speakers, etc? well those you gotta count if not then whats the point?
-stock android
-front & back speakers
-flashlight front camera
-reverseable screen
-360 degree images
-faster autofocus
-boom key
-fm radio
now as for the s7? let me do that for you and like I said..specs wise the s7 is better
-water resistant -which is a false advertisement
-slightly larger screen
-4gb ram
-wireless charger
-faster cpu
-better pictures
Currently awaiting Elephone's to be launched flagship Edge phone and LG'S V20 later in the year. Perhaps a S8 if changes are sufficient enough?
I don't think either of the first two will feature weather resistance but nothing else out there at present I'm interested in. Very happy with the S7E.
What are you waiting for?
Haha, I think this phone is excellent in every aspect but I think the single reason that I would ever change this phone for is the custom ROMs. As we all know, most of the US variants of this phone have locked bootloaders and thus cannot be modded.
Don't get me wrong, this phone is bloody perfect, but that's just a tiny kink I have with the S7.
And to answer your question, I would pick the Oneplus 3 if my crazy mind ever decides to change this beast of a phone.

Oddly you say that as I have just sold my Op3 (which replaced an Elephone P9000) after a few weeks of ownership. I thought I'd cash in on it whilst it is still hot in the charts.
A good phone for the money but I don't miss it. - I would miss the Edge though.
Anything new will have to surpass the S7E either in functionality, design or some outstanding traits at least.
I have a feeling the V20 will come close if LG can work on their UI. Camera performance should be superb and Audio top notch.
The P9000 I had used a new thin layer LG panel and although 1080p in most regards was the best display I have ever had the pleasure to use. Absolutely amazing.
I somehow hope LG will stick with an LCD panel (rather than OLED) for the new phone albeit in QuadHD form.

I guess I would also miss the S7 edge dearly for its excellent battery life and display. :victory:
The only phone I'd change for would be the HTC 10. A BIG part of the reason is TouchWiz UI with its childish colors and huge buttons. I was forced to install Nova launcher, but the settings theme is still disgusting. I almost NEVER use the camera, and I don't care for waterproof... so HTC 10 does appeal to me.
I was hoping for a Project Ara phone, love the concept. But my S4 was dying. And I fell in love with the S7 Edge

HTC 10 for me as well. Music is important to me and the quality on the S7 Edge doesn't compare unfortunately. Had the M8 and the M7 and the audio quality on them walks over the Edge.
Anyone disappointed in a few things like I am?
1. Regardless of how you feel, Verizon removing things and adding even more bloatware is beyond nasty. It's low.
2. The battery life is average at best.
3. There is lags. It's there. Apps open slow, typical Samsung UI stuff. It'll never change.
4. I just don't like the edge. It offers nothing and makes hitting a button close to it awkward. Not to mention cases are just bleh due to trying to fit around it.
5. The S-pen has a smaller tip, but I find it less responsive than it used to be.
6. New theme store is meh. Themes I purchased on my s6 aren't there. I think this feature will improve though.
I like the phone, but it definitely doesn't wow me like the Note 3 and Note 4.

I am having way better battery life on the Note 7 than my Galaxy 7. I haven't noticed any lag. I agree, the "edge" is a gimmick.
Biggest issue: No AdBlock. Jesus, how do people use the internet without adblock

You should use Samsung's browser and use the adblock extension. It is amazing.

I might have to get rid of it for that. Hope it gets root, dont care about the bootloader. Can't live with the endless ads in apps

I use Adguard on occasion as it sometimes bogs down the phone. Love/hate relationship with it.
Well, I get way better battery life than any phone I've ever owned. I end almost every day at 50% and I used to charge by 6pm. Apps open faster than any phone I've ever had and have no lag so far. I love the edge for quick weather and sports scores. I don't love finding a screen protector and case that play nice together. The s-pen seems WAY better to me. I don't use the theme store so I can't comment there. So far, I adore this phone.

Apparently you guys have never had a Nexus. This phone is good, but it does have lag issues that it just shouldn't have in 2016.
And when I say edge, I dont mean edges apps. You don't need to have an edge screen to use the apps you mentioned. They would work just fine if not better on a flat screen like the quick tools Samsung used to use
Not being a jerk, but every phone that gets released, people make wild claims like " 8 day battery life, fastest phone in the world" blah blah. To be fair, there is always someone who makes a thread like this as well. I'm that someone this time.
I like the phone, but it really isn't the holy grail it was made out to be... I feel like it needs an update to clean some stuff up

I like the phone but I don't think it's a huge upgrade over my s7e. I think I'm going to return it and just keep my s7e. Kind of sick of Verizon for removing helpful features from this phone that were meant to be there.

Had a Nexus 6. This blows the doors off of it speed wise. I can actually open the camera and take a picture, answer a phone call, and not have the unlock screen take about 15 seconds to actually unlock.
Makes me wonder if I had a bad device all along. It wasn't like that at first though. Somewhere after 6.0 it slowed down and never recovered regardless of factory resetting.

Concerns:
Future updates, but I knew what I was getting into.
The durability of GG5, but the whole issue may be overblown...time will tell.
Dislikes:
The screen protector I bought. There is already dust under it. Not to mention it must have lifted off the center, as I miss keys all the time. I will sit tight for a while on it and see what else comes out over the next month or so.
Samsung Keyboard - I like Google Keyboard for typing, Samsung S-Pen input for writing, and Google Voice Keyboard. No way to get this combo easily.
Price was steep for this phone, but you get what you pay for. I wanted premium, and got premium.
Buyer's Remorse
Nope. None.
I miss the Ascending Ringtone Volume setting. I can't find it in VZN Note 7. All the good basic ring tones are gone, too.
Someone PLEASE unlock the boot loader on this phone.
Really wasn't expecting to see the different ui was actually looking forward to the new one as this phone was supposed to have the grace ui , so very disappointed in that as it was a feature that was a factor in my buying it its more or less the s7 rebuilt as a note with edge panels, so Im annoyed there. I also don't like the fact that I had to make a custom shortcut for the Samsung cloud service when that was also a feature which was a deciding factor for getting this phone , all in all don't get me wrong the phone is beautiful it runs like a dream its screen is fantastic etc. but I really disagree with the feature removal , the device maintenance app , and the difference in ui these are things that were supposed to make this phone unique and there not there , I mean I really like it but im annoyed at the same time if that makes sense lol. What really sucks is I gave my s7 to my wife and shes ecstatic about it so I cant really return it now cause shes now one with the s7. That and i traded in her old phone.
I agree DBCAB. I don't know what is different in the UI aside from a slightly different settings menu. Is there more?
I am also sick of Verizon. There is just no other carrier with a signal here. They're the reason I went Nexus and tried an iPhone. You never know what features they're going to remove or bloat they're going to force when it comes the all other Android phones.

I'm not thrilled about Verizon, the way they tamper with what is already a somewhat compromised ROM is vile. Their latest security update had crapware in it. What more can you say?
The phone is amazing, imo. It absolutely kills the Note 4 which I had, it's not even comparable. I'm using a Nexus 6P, I swore on all that is holy I would never use a locked up Samsung phone again and I can barely put this down. It looks better than any phone I've ever seen, the software is actually...dare I say it, useful? Even the damn iris scanner works well. It's not laggy (yet), and I'm getting better battery than my Nexus. I missed the stylus. I don't know if I can bear a locked down phone, but this is the only one I've tried that makes me think about it A LOT.
My only dislike is how gdamn hard I have to work against Verizon and Samsung to get the most out of it. Sneaking to get Samsung Cloud, downloading an older, superior version of SNote with full capability (wtf is that about?!). Otherwise, wow, quite a phone and I was prepared to hate it loudly.

Just the standard yahoo sports one. When you click on the little gear symbol to customize the edge screens you want, Yahoo is literally the first one I can select. It's pretty basic but I like it for my baseball scores at a glance.

The $900 price tag got to me along with the edge screen so I returned mine for a Galaxy J3 lol. Seriously the Note 7 is nice but between what Verizon dose and the limited choice of screen protectors that stick and cases that do not peal them off made me return the device. I'm looking to ditch Verizon all together so I opted for the cheapest smartphone they had in stock to fulfill my device payment agreement. Surprisingly the J3 isn't all that bad for what I do on the phone.

I wouldn't expect early cases and screen protectors to be perfect til people got a chance to beat on them. I still ordered them though and just got them in today, at least get some protection.

It's going to be the same as the S7 Edge I just traded in. Not too many choices.
