There are some apps with which you can make own vibration patterns (for example how long the vibration is and how many vibrations you get).. but I forgot the names.. maybe you search on google or playstore?
For example this app... It hat 3.2 stars becuz free version only supports sms and phone calls but no apps like whatsapp..

Hey everyone,
Had a question,
My phone, when on vibrate, does a good 10seconds for any text message, phone call, or what not - any ideas how to edit this - it's WAYY to long of a vibration and I end up needing to have the phone on silent.
Thanks,
~Maciek
if you have a 3prt profile app chack if there are settings regarding this issue ,you can also try diff ring and ring settings of the phone ,most likely you have a software that dose it ,try also to check on start/settings/sound & notification /notification if the settings are ok (play with it) as last option you can always backup your device prform hr and check this function (to know your device is ok) good luck with finding it

Yeah i find the vibrations to be way too long also. I wish there was a way to change it.
If it works for increasing volume...is there any way to make the device vibrate when in the pocket or in dark only?
Some weeks ago i saw application in the Android market, But dont remember name. Sorry.
I need it for windows mobile...forgot to mention...thanks anyway...
This is not a solution, but I would suggest you contact the developer of the AutoLoudSpeaker, as it looks like a modification of his program would be a solution.
* HERE *
Thanks.
I've just posted question about my problem in the given thread.
This is a good idea & along with a hack for pulsing vibrate would be very very useful as constant vibrate is close to useless.

I already use this application for vibrating pattern and seems like you need it too...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569025
You can set your own vibrating pattern so it doesnt constantly vibrate like an earthquake...
Before I found this application I had vibration disabled just because the constant and too powerful vibrating...
For some reason it doesnt work for SMS for me...maybe I am forgetting something...

The only problem I had is that I cant make the sms vibration to work...I am more than satisfied with incoming calls...
Kind of the problem I had, calls were ok but all else failed & it was not controllable via standard adjustment UIs or profile softwares so was not much use for my needs.
Hey,
I developed a new app today and would like to share with you guys.
it uses the same libs as the Subwoofer Vibrator, but now only on ringtones.
this makes the phone bounce according to the ringtone and not just monotonously.
ofcourse its for free,
you can download from google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ValkA.vibetone
here's a video of how it works:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsPLvkGYet8
I'll be happy to hear any comments
new update: 1.1
A major bug fix.
now it works like a charm !
Didn't work for me running aokp

does the subwoofer vibrator works ? might be an already running sound mod.
Looks interesting, will try it out soon. :silly:
Will this conflict with other sound mods? I have Viper4Android installed.
it shouldn't make any problems, at least BEATS works fine on my device
Tried the app. The vibration doesn't change from default. The screen starts to lag damn badly when incoming call alert.
you should turn off the the default ringtone vibration in the settings, thats the reason it doesnt change for you.
about the lag, thats strange.
what device are you using ?

Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505. I did turn off the default ringtone vibration, but when incoming call, the vibration is the same as what I set for my ringtone. Not only that, the screen lags too, can't accept or deny calls.

maybe you have live wallpaper with music visualizer ?
Hi folks,
I am often disturbed by calls in games or other relevant moments. The caller always appears in the foreground as a full screen incoming call.
I've tried a lot and tried out the internal ways to control notifications. Without success.
How can I change this behaviour?
Greetings,
Christian

Install an apk of Google Dialer (none rooted) (or if your rooted with magisk install it through that) then open settings, search for "default" and find default apps section and set it as your default phone app. I find Google dialer better as I like the anti spam feature anyway and the notification won't pause your games (takes up top quarter of screen in either orientation)
Doesn't the game mode block notifications including phone calls for this purpose?

I believe that would also work, though Google dialer is good for not interrupting in general and if you want NO notification, then enable game mode
Thanks for your replies, guys.
Unfortunately the game-mode can't block incoming calls... No matter which app the call is coming from (whatsapp, Facebook, normal calls...)
I guess there is a solution if I would root my device.
All notifications come silently, with vibrations only, although their sound is on. I think, that is because I use DND rules.
Does anyone have the issue too? How to fix that?
I have 3 devices and all of them have the same issue. The problem came, I think, when they got Android 8 or 8.1.
Just Google the do not disturb mode
Try and see difference between the modes
Look at automatic rules for DND
Voila

No-no. Of course, when DND is ON, I don't hear any notifications.
But! When DND is OFF, notifications don't play sounds.
Restart helps, but not always.

No. Maybe there is some app which causes the problem. And I am almost sure about it. Because just my phones have the problem and I cannot Google similar symptoms. But what the app - I don't know.
My unusual apps:
- ACR (audio call recorder)
- Google Fit
- SoloLearn
- Zedge

I use Google fit too and except a little battery drain ? i have my notification sound.
So you're not rooted etc... Just using app from playstore.
Start eliminate them one by one
1-Check apps that use accessibility service
(under settings / accessibility)
2-Check apps that use notification permissions
(under settings / applications / show permissions and look the notification tab)
3-Did the problem hapenned after a "specific date" it could also be an app update
Zedge app is made to customize notification sound try uninstall this one first.
Also is this happening for all app?
Did you put the ringtone sound to the lowest?
Because on stock notification sound volume is the same as ringtone one. (except with root - but maybe an app you used put it to the lowest)
Putting ringtone sound maybe would debug the thing.
Do you hear the ringtone when a call comes in?
I'm sorry bro i can just suggest some idea you already tried. I hope someone got the same problem and manage to fix. Maybe you'll be the one that will help future user in this case ?
Good luck with this. Sometimes solution is very simple. Sometimes it just need a factory reset. But you don't learn where you f*cked up
