In crowded places or when using some public transit, you can miss the phone calls because of the loud surrounding noise suppressing the sound of the ringtone.
EMUI comes with a solution to this problem in the form of Pocket Mode.
Pocket Mode - This option uses the proximity sensor located near the earpiece of the phone and automatically increases the ringtone volume and vibration alert for incoming calls as soon as you put your phone into your pocket.
How to enable ?
1. Phone Dialer Menu

Do you guys know what that icon mean?
i was watching youtube video and it was stuck said there is something with the gallery.
and when i back to home screen there's this new icon on the notification bar.and i can't watch video(streaming video like youtube, and one of the apps discovery channel) since than.only the video not moving,it was show out and then just stop.but the audio is fine and the browsing bar is still moving.
any idea how to fix that guys...??
thank you.
Your phone is set to self destruct.
(it's the vibrate mode)
The icon means vibration is on..
it's the vibrate icon. It shows up when you turn the volume down to a point where the volume is muted and the the phone will only vibrate. Click it down one more time and it will show a speaker with an X beside it to show that the phone will not ring or vibrate.
Not sure why it would only show up on youtube but i can only guess you may have accidentally turned down the ringer volume when pressing buttons.
Is it possible to change microphone sensitivity via some Android API?
I want to do this to be able to set sensitivity of the microphone when recording. When you record now the microphone tries to compensate for the sound that are silent, that makes (sudden) loud noises go over what the phone can record.
Look at this image:

If you set the microphone to be less sensitive the pink bars would go up, making low sounds unrecordable but higher sounds won't loose it peaks.
I don't care if the phone has to be rooted to do this but I want to be able to set microphone sensitivity via an apk.
Hi,
I am looking for an app that speaks the name of the caller if a call is recieved. I tried saymyname and callerId but both of them does not work through earphones. but they seem to work through the speaker. I need this only if earphones are pluged in.
any hints for a working one??
SayMyName Desrt. In Settings - Speech Settings -check Discreet Mode.
Are you on froyo?
If so, you can try samsung's driving mode:
Settings->Voice input and Output->Text to speech settings
And here you have to install voice data if you haven't did it already and then check "Driving mode".

Say my name Dessert. Atleast there is an option for headphones only.
Hi,
the problem is, that the discreet mode from saymyname does not work. I think there is an update on the market, will try it.

I am using Light Flow for my sounds, vibrates, and LED colors. I do not have any issues with any other apps. Google Voice continues to vibrate despite the option being disabled. It is a longer vibrate too, not something I would normally set. I've tried toggling it. I checked my stock SMS app to make sure it was disabled there, and it is, and it does not vibrate.

Any thoughts on this? The Light Flow control for Google Voice has been disabled entirely for testing purposes until I figure out what is going on.
Hi, I recently upgraded my OxygenOS to version 10.3 and I've noticed that I can't turn off the ring volume. I can get it pretty low but I can't turn it off all the way. Ever since I've gotten my phone I've had it on vibrate and it's extremely strange to begin to hear sound to my notifications now aswell. I'd like to get rid of the ring volume but there seems to be no way to remove it, I even get sound from notifications while the slider is on silent. Any help would be gladly appreciated. I included an image to show how low I can get the ring volume to.
