At the moment, I wanna test something out with the cpu. Is there anyway that I can totally disable core(s) even on boot?
I tried Kernel Auditor but it just apply the changes after each boot. And also tried to use some commands via adb shell that I found on google but no work.
I really need help. Thanks
Disable other cores of cpu will cause a problem like camera blank, my tip is dont ever disable any of the running cpu.

Thanks for the tip but I've known that bug already.
For specifically, I just wanna disable the multi-thread funtion, not the main 2 cores. Could you help me?

Not sure, but you can use kernel adiutor or cpu frill to disable them. DWYOR
Nt: Disable the threads just the same with disable main core.

You can disable cores with 2 way and easy way is ;
Unpack ramdisk of kernel and add this line to any .rc file, for example init.power.redhookbay.rc
If it has "on property:sys.boot_completed=1", add this line "write /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/online 0" this will disable core 2
Pack again and flash kernel
You can't disable main core only

hello Xdaians
i have made a little script which will increase the zRam size to 378mb where by default kernel gives the maximum option of 150mb which is quite low
i had made this script for my personal use but then i thought of sharing it with everyone
what is zRam, if this is the question currently roaming in your mind then go here
what this script will do:-
zRam would be increased to 378mb
swappiness will be at 100
set lmk according to total memory
Click to collapse
How to install this script:-
firstly download the script from here
open any root file browser
copy this file to /system/etc/init.d
reset the permissions of the file to rwx rwx rwx
set swap use option as "disable" in devil kernel manager app (only if you have enabled it)
Click to collapse
and you are done. now enjoy more high speed virtual ram
Well guys this script is tested only on Devil kernel and unofficialsemaphore kernel but is supposed to work on any kernel having support for zRam.
Guys rate this thread with 5 stars and submit it as a news or press thanks to show your support toward me and my work
Thanks...
thanks
thank u very much
Re: [SCRIPT]increase zRam to 378 mb -- only devil kernel
Should this set the lmk according to a galaxy s3, or just this phone?

Not like s3
Lmk is according to 700 Mb ram
Which provides complete multitasking

Working great, I had to add a few lines at the beginning because zram was not enabled correctly through the various options in my ROM or software-
Code:
insmod /system/lib/modules/lzo_compress.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/lzo_decompress.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/zram.ko
now that the zram block actually exists I am all set! Thanks again
is this limited only to 378mb or can it be further increased?
This will make your phone slower than my grandma. But nice experiment.

Hi guys
is there any one who knows how to change note 4 cpu frequencies and keep them constant ?!
i just rooted my phone and disabeled dvfs but still when i change min / max frequencies in 3C cpu control app they will reset after a while
i just tested many apps but still frequencies never stick
any help ?!
Snapdragon or exynos?
@turbomann
Exynos
please help!
You'll need a custom kernel

can you make synapse to apply settings in certain times again?!
for exapmle after scren on and off dvfs will change frequencies but if synaps apply frequesies again they will be the same like before......
i mean synapse automaticaly apply user frequencies after dvfs changed them
this would solve dvfs problems !
sorry for my bad english

No , there is no way to disable or modify dvfs on lollipop for now.
@MEGAX91
no i mean just make synapse to apply settings automaticaly time by time ....
so dvfs will change frequencies but after a while synapse will reapply user made settings
so frequencies will remain what user set them most of time

no one knows how to solve this issue ?!
Hi, before start, i'm not a dev and i inform you that i'm not responsable for any issue caused by script and indications in the post.
i make this script for enable performance mode like in CM rom in all aosp or caf based rom.
What is performance mode?
Performance mode change the usage of big and little core on the device. In balanced mode for the most of process the device uses the little core and only when a big load is detected the big core start to scaling. In performance mode the device use more the big core also for medium loads and less the little core. This is made possible by enabling the sched_boost in the Heterogeneous Multi- Processing scheduling settings (HMP).
Script link: http://pastebin.com/8FrVkVW4
After run script make sure that in interactive governor settings use_sched_load and use_migration_notif are set to 0 for both cpus
For restore the balanced mode reboot the device or run this script: http://pastebin.com/QG5bkH5U
Current version: v1.3
Status: Stable
Optional interactive settings:
http://pastebin.com/5u6t9Y2X
I also raccomand to use an hotplug. Personally i use Msm_hotplug
TEST REPORT
Info:
Script version: v1.3
Device: Redmi note 3 pro 3/32
Rom: Aoscp 3.1.3
Kernel: Agni pure 3.8
Additional kernel settings (not applied by the stripts):
Min freq big core: 883 MHz
Min freq little core: 691 MHz
Msm hotplug: enabled (1big core and 2 littles cores always on)
Scheduler: zen readahead 2048 kb
Partitions filesystems:

Sure, but not flash only copy file in a txt file afer run with a script app. like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.initd&hl=en
ps i forgot to tell that you need to set use sched load in cpu governor to 0. And wait for v1.2 it came i 5 min

Last time that i use miui was on LP, and you can enable performance mode in battery settings, i dont know if in MM this feature is present, probably yes. The only difference is that the script also change cpubw governor probably performance mode in miui not do it. But you can run the script and try, probably all directory are correct. Please if you try let me know

After applying those two script (performance mode and optional interactive) I think I have no big difference on performance itself (pic.1 performance enabled, pic.2 script hasn't ran yet) also I think an error occured when the script was executed (pic.3)
multiROM 6.12.8 MM.

Error is related to different location of cpubw governor in miui, and missing interactive CPU governor, miui stock governor is ondemand and probably hasn't interactive. Ondemand governor use the schead load and the migration notify of hmp scheduler and you cant disable it. This is an important step for use correctly the cpu in performance mode, because hmp is setted for work with usual big.little architetture. So you need to use a custom kernel like agni, that is the first think to do if you ask for more performance.

Unfortunately agni and radon wont let my fingerprint work so simply I prefer to have fingerprint works than to have better performance. Moreover I rarely to play game on Android.

Hmmmm.......
Try only 3 cores online with schedule workload on awake CPU option ticked and yes frequency on 960Mhz is recommended.....You can also try four cores with 729 Mhz.
I/O scheduler on noop and read a head value 1024 kb
Disable I/O status.
Disable Kernel Same page merging
Keep low memory killer on medium or light.
On Virtual memory...Lower the swapiness to say 40 or 30
.
.
Under tools section disable Data sharing.
Hit thanks if it helps

Just set clock speed to 729Mhz max and even 432Mhz if you can live with it........
Also try with 4 cores 432Mhz or 729Mhz 3 cores
Or 960 Mhz max on 2 cores on........

Hello,
I want to disable DVFS,
However, I found some tutorials, with permissions, that didn't work for me, next suggestions?
Thanks.
I believe simplest way is to instal a kernel that includes this capability and then disable via a kernel manager.

Check the development section for a kernel compatible to your device? I'm not going to post any random kernel here in case it's not right for your device.
Tgp kernel. Stock setting. Stock rom.
Use the SuperKernel run all stock room
Check my channel youtube URLGAMEPLAY how you disable vdfs s7 edge and flat possible pull big core 2600 mhz little 1690 mhz , disable vdfs gpu 806 mhz and more settings . Best for games
