Is anyone else experiencing pretty hefty performance increases by turning on the developer options and choosing to force GPU rendering. So far it's been a pretty noticeable boost to performance and stability, with so far no downside that I've found. Just wondering if anyone else has tried the same thing and if there are any glitches I could run into down the road by doing this.

Nice tip
Your Jide Ambassador is here!!!
in which apps are you noticing improvements?
i can't detect any difference personally... i've had to force-shutdown twice since i made the change, but that probably would have happened anyway.
Ok so far not the gpu rendering has helped but turning on Force 4x MSAA had helped stop the screen crashes

Any way to get Force 4x MSSA to survive a reboot? I have enabled it and it does improve stability and performace, but it does not survive a reboot and in many cases, closes during the day. Making this "stick" would be a great improvement and a sign that Jide cares about its Ultra Tablet users.

Does it matter if both are on? If so what setting do you recommend?
Well it doesn't crash for days when I have both on and comes back on when it does.
---------- Post added at 12:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:57 PM ----------
actually I wouldn't have known it crashed be cause I never leave anything open. but the one time I left the browser open and came back the next day it was still there so *shrug*

keyword. demo.
if someone does throw a fit ill toss it out. but until then, i dont think a demo is illegal

OY GOVNAH U HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING
Edit: PS Rapidshare is slow as bawls, I will upload it to somewhere else as well. I would host it on my site, except I don't know the legality of this, probably legal, but who knows.
EDIT: ROFLMAO
Did you even test this? Once you start driving everything is extremely dark and a lot of things aren't working properly. I am on EvolutionX Froyo(yours), so that might play a role. I just think it's doing this because it's using some fancy smancy stuff that the Snapdragon gpu doesn't support. But the fps is alright, it runs about as well as an iphone 3g/3gs.

YES it most deff. was supposed to come out with the release of the Evo as reported by both EA and Sprint. I even emailed EAMobile and have yet to receive any response.....
even better we get to hear the DroidX rep say it was going to be only on the DroidX for 30-60 days now in one of those videos released at its launch.
Well i didnt test. Its made for powervgx gpu not adreno. Thats prolly why its black. This was pulled from galaxy s. Soo thanks for testing haha
adreno sucks i bet iphone 2g got better graphics.at least DROID'S gpu would've been great for the EVO.
Game looks like the Epic 4g, Buggy POS LOL Just get Asphalt 5, the new update seems to have fixed the lag, and graphics just as good or better than NFS Shift.
Thanks for posting this.
Just tested this on a Samsung Galaxy S and i plays perfectly well and smooth.
No problems with the graphics.
There should be one that works on the snapdragon:

It runs nicely on the Nexus One. Good stuff.
I was selected to test out an Alpha version of ANTUTU 5, here are my impressions so far. It is markedly longer than previously. There are new CPU tests, including Single Thread Integer, Single Thread Floating Point, refined 2D tests, which are now performed in landscape, and an all new 3D test Project Anarchy, which is a Forrest Scene. Pretty Cool. Cant wait for the final project.

I am testing it too and I've noticed something but I am not sure if it's related to Antutu. When it goes to CPU Interger Test or Float point test, all cores go to 100% usage except for CORE1. For some reason, it stays at 1-10%. Maybe it's the kernel. I am using ElementalX

I have no idea how you guys are getting a such a high score, im stock rooted but only can get around 41500 and that's only after updated the gpu drivers
Anyone done a Pi bench on their S6? I imagine several others Pi scores will beat my 6. 30 seconds.
Use AGM + FFT Formula, test 1000000 digits, and post your fastest time.

Nice score!
Aha! Power off device and cool down seemed to help (maybe?)
Sorry guys
First run after download, no special settings, only power saving mode is disabled.
Nice one kurczak94! However...
I just did another run. I believe this is going to be the fastest that the test will do on my phone.
edit: oh, nope, I'm wrong! I just did another faster test which I'll post in a bit. How are you guys getting the full length of the result screen showing in your screenshots? I have to scroll down to show the time and that cuts off the top saying 'Intitialising... '
Wow, nice! I can't beat it ;(

You probably will, I'm getting nothing faster than 6. 19 at the moment. Good score, you've matched me.
Not sure if this is considered cheating, but I'm running the Sac23 ROM and Ktoonsez kernel on my Sprint S6. I didn't expect to get a higher score cause I haven't adjusted kernel at all. I might try some over clocking and run it again later.

Let's see what others say about it, but imo, it's legit because you've simply managed to get the phone tweaked to run faster. Excellent time! :good:
Pro tip for everyone: Power off the phone and let it cool right down before running the bench to obtain the best scores. Example, when I ran Pi just a moment ago after just finishing running antutu, my Pi was over 8 seconds.
After many attempts yesterday and today of running the test consecutively, I just this moment got a freak 6. 17 seconds.
Edit: skip that, just improved again. 6. 16 secs. Blimey.

I'm running xtresolite ROM, with ktoonesz kernel with no overclock
6.23 - 7.2 using 5.1.1 stock H930FXXU2BOFN
seems as the time creeps each time its run.
I installed CPU-Z and it shows 4 cores stopped. I run stress tests the CPU and always says the same.
What's going on?
(i am running Android N latest release)

Everyone have this problem?
Yes. This is a well-documented problem on any phones with SD810 chipset. The phone will stop 2 big clusters when the temperature is high enough.

I answered your question. Not sure what the issue is.
The CPU throttles very aggressively when subjected to heavy loads due to heat. This was a known issue with the chip for months before they decided to use it. They did they best they could with it but it still throttles aggressively.
It's strange, i didn't load too much the phone and here is winter (45° F)
I guess, Time to root and flash?

This statement is untrue and deceptive. It's not whether N or MM causing the issue, but it's basically how Android aggressively throttles the SD810 chip, which has been known for generating a lot of heat. Just watch an HD movie or two, or play Modern Combat 4 for 15 minutes while charging and you'll see. This thread serves absolutely no purpose but demonstrating OP's lack of knowledge and research. A very quick Google search (SD810 thermal throttling) is enough to reveal the throttling problem.

I back to Marshmallow, i tested the device, with stress tools, 3d games and other apps. The 8 cores on Marshmallow never stopped, and with the latest Android N preview the nexus 6p allways had the problem.
You are talking without knowing.
Fyi
It's an Android N bug
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=210535
Maybe the cores are working fine and it's cpu-z that's not detecting them, you can't trust 3rd party apps on N. I haven't noticed any performance issues as compared to M.
So i saw post hitting 60k here i am 91k.
As you already know z5 starts to trottle fast so it doesnt get hot and away from bench marking i am fine with that cuz it just works fine no lagor something. Before that with all latest updates i barrly hit 58k. Was disapointed but still phone is just ok, but i still wanted good bench score without tweaking kernel or to root it so what i did for good bench is i just put it into freezer till the antutu done its job so here i am with 91k.

I really think we can get similar results to snapdragon 820 but our main issue is the heat from our snapdragon 810 and also I've read somewhere that the true power of snapdragon 810 is locked because of the heat.
If u guys want a good user experience, just uninstall antutu.
The app drains ur battery and as an aside a benchmark doesn't tell u anything about real life usage so there's no real point of it.
I tried it a few times but even when the app haven't run for weeks it still drained my battery.
