How to check compatibility for rooting? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

got a s7 edge today and want to upgrade it. How can i check for compatibility before following this guide ?

If it's t-mobile, then you posted in the right place.. First things is to figure out which carrier your S7 belongs to, or if it's unlocked or if it has Snapdragon or Exynos. Then you'll know which forum to post in & which files to flash

Hi.
Not a very useful title for a thread. Most everyone needs help or help in having a question answered...
And also your question isn't something to be answered clearly...
You could root your device. If you need it is your decision. Do you see clear benefits in it? Are you aware, that there is no way to do it without tripping knox atm?
Do you have a device with an exynos processor in the first place? If it is a snapdragon you could forget the whole idea of rooting at this point, because there is no way to root it atm.
ah.. okay. must have missed the device model type.. yes, you can root. you have the exynos...

New to Rooting, requesting assistance with the S7 Edge

Hey, I'm pretty new to rooting but I've recently purchased a Verizon G935V Galaxy S7 Edge running the latest Nougat version and I've spent the past day attempting to figure out how to root this thing correctly, with my version of the s7 edge and nougat. I don't usually feel the need to make any posts requesting assistance because usually with enough googling I can figure it out myself, but I've given up. Please guide me in the right path to get this thing rooted, I can't seem to find any recent videos or forum post with the correct versions I'm looking for.
Verzion Qualcomm Snapdragon SM-G935V S7 Edge running 7.0 Nougat with April 1st, 2017 Android Security Patch Level. If anymore information is needed, feel free to ask
Thanks in advance.

Rooting a variant of the S7 Edge.

so ive been away from rooting for a few years now. so i deeply apologize if this is a noob question. I recently acquired a S7 Edge from a friend of mine. The Model is SM-GT935U. Which brings me to a couple questions. To root it is there a specific guide i can fine to do it or is it the same as the GT9350? I tried to look into the model number but all i came across was just?
There are a number of root methods for the S7 Edge, and you'll likely find that a number are generic enough for you to use for your phone. Each method seems to have some successes, and some not, by what I have read.
Just do a search on google for root (your model), and you'll pull up pages of possibilities. Look for the most recent.

So you have an SM-G900R...
I, personally, would recommend/suggest that you check out the following form that's specific to the USCC (US Cellular) devices.
http://www.teamuscellular.com
The following area of that forum is dedicated to the G900R.
http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/forum/408-samsung-galaxy-s5/
I don't normally suggest another forum though, the XDA Forum does have some threads/posts regarding the USCC S5 but, I believe that it's a bit limited and the above forum does have allot more information specific to this variant.
Good Luck!

Hey mate, your device model indicates its a verizon one. This forum is for international exynos variant. Always search for your correct forums before posting. Ask it here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/help
Even this sub forum is for guides etc, not for help. Please post in relevant forums and subforums to get applicable solutions. And be sure to read the rules if you are a new user
As for your question, search or post on your relevant forum, your model has snapdragon processor and it has a locked bootloader. There was a method to root snapdragon variants using engineering kernel etc but I am not updated with the latest development on snapdragon variants. Search on your relevant forum for more info. Good luck
