Hi,
I made the mistake of changing the screen resolution from 800x600 to 1280x600 in this new chinese Android 4.4.2 head unit. Now only get a grey screen.
The unit has no physical buttons, only capacitive. It says that is a RK3188 and has 1280 screen resolution.
"Android Car Player GPS Radio Information:

GPS Navigations SIRF III Supported : Google Map, IGO 8, Navitel ,Ndrive, sygic, Etc
Internet Connection Supported : Wifi & 3G dongle
Reverse line detection, rear view camera automatically into the screen display
OSD Language: Multi-languages"
For MCU I could find this:
5.3.18-23-10-E43101-160216
when double click shows: VW(5.3.18, CONFIG, RDS, BC6, Color, NODVD, Rohm37XXX, TEF668X)
System version: 4.5.7_20160108
Any help how to force it into factory reset mode or somehow change the screen resolution back to 800x600?
Has 2 USB ports (but no sdcards).
Any help please? Thank you.

Hi,
would the post regarding capacitive/on screen button help?
It is said to solder two wires to help/simulate the reset button?
Thanks.
Update: I did open the unit but the board is different and could not figure out how to provoke this "reset" switch workaround.

Did you ever figure out how to fix this problem. I have the same head unit and did the same thing.

Hello!
I've got a "RQ1222e Pumpkin car stereo" (seems to be a Klyde (KLD) unit with RK3188 and 1024/600 screen. I installed a MTCB/C ROM from Malaysk on it some month ago.
Everything worked fine - then suddenly the upper top of the touch screen was not responding any more.
Some weeks later, the lower part also stopped working - and now the hole screen is not responding any more.
Only the buttons are responding, the rest of the radio is still working.
I think, the touch screen is defetiv. I already opend the radio and repluged all connectors - this did not help.
Pumpkin says, they don't have a new touch screen for the unit. Is there an "universal touch" which I can buy and connect? It is a 7" unit.
Attached some photos of the screen, maybe this helps?
Many thanks in advance!
I have the same issue. Any help ?
Hello! Sorry, I forgot to post the solution here. I repaired the radio by changing the touch screen.
I bought this one:
#Aliexpress € 8,68 5%OFF | Auto DVD-navigation 165*100mm 164*99mm 6pin gt911 kondensator touchscreen.

The touch is fixes with tape in front of the LCD an can bei changed easily
Thanks, will open it up on the weekend.
Hi all,
I bought an Android HU from Aliexpress for my 2016 Volvo S60.
It is a PX3 device but I am not sure if it is a MTCD/E or something like it.
It is only a display unit with an android/MCU board and has no amplifier etc.
Normally it shows the original car menus (stretched to >8 inch wide) on it and when you push and hold the menu
button on original car console it switches to Android UI. In short, it is a little different then usual Android HUs.
I am pretty satisfied with the unit but there is one deal breaker for me. When I stop the engine and remove the key from car,
Android HU shuts off instead off sleeping. So when I want to use the car again, it takes 40-50 seconds the unit to boot.
I have also a Px5 unit in my VW car and it instantly awakes when I start the engine.
What I want to ask is if it is a software option? Can I somehow make the unit sleep.
Do you think this unit compatible with Hal9K or Malaysk Px3 roms?
If PX3 sleeping not possible can I use a PX5 board to upgrade the unit?
Thanks in advance...
P.S: I attached a couple of photos of the unit. There is also some factory setting page shots.
Factory setting password of the unit is 1314....
No one no help?
I did it again....
Since last weekend I have the new Pumpkin here and test it extensively at my test place before I install it in the car.

Scope of delivery:
2 DIN Unit
10.1 inch glossy screen, with metal frame
Cable set with 2 USB ports
User manual English/German
PX5
64-bit 8-Core Cortex-A53 1.5GHz
Android 9, build number 201907251651
MCU: CSN2_06252ß19_163051 (Despite this MCU the device is obviously a KLYDE device)
Here again an information to the MCU:
It is a PX5, but with a newer mainboard. The CSN2 devices are not firmware-compatible to the known PX5 boards, so there are no custom-roms at the moment.
First impression:
I must say, the first impression is very good.
The first startup was done after about 20 seconds.
The original launcher is as usual from Punpkin, as well as the apps included.
What's new:
Additional USB on the front panel
2 micro SD trays on the front panel
Volume control knob (illuminated)
Knob for App switching (illuminated)
App called "Tachograph," a new app for the Pumpkin USB-Dashcam.
Caravan, an app that supports rear view camera and front camera and you can switch between both cams. (did not try it...)
Sync (I don't know what it's for yet)
CD player for external CD players
An app called "Joykey Study" for certain OEM-Key-Pads, I have to do some research myself...
VoiceControl App Looks like an app for Apple's friends. The app doesn't work for Android phones (at least for mine).
The Settings menu was cleaned up, also the menu for the "factory settings". Here you don't find the strange menu anymore, but it's neatly clean arranged. Unfortunately not in German, but I think you can live with that.
Display of the battery voltage in the status bar is now possible in the "Personal settings".
Also the settings of the phone can be displayed now. Here you can see the field strength and the battery status at the top of the status bar.
The radio runs very smoothly and I was able to install all the apps I needed without any problems. Root was possible with the well-known ADB method without any problems.
The screen is connected to the radio with a flat cable plug, just slide it on and click into place.
You can turn the screen with a little effort in all directions and the holder makes a very stable impression.
First Tests:
The working temperature is important for me. With active route guidance, DAB+ active in the background, Blitzer.de active, the temperature stays ~60°C... and that without any optimization.
Yesterday I installed the radio. The first thing I noticed was, that Pumpkin is finally keeping the usual EUR installation dimensions for this radio. My previous radios always needed a reworked installation frame. A new frame is therefore due because the existing frame was reworked to fit my other units....
Potential for improvement:
Developer menu is password protected. The PW is even not known at Pumpkin. It's marked as secret... But i´m on it.
I got the information from Pumpkin that the new Android 9 design from Pumpkin is still in work. I'm curious when that will come. So I'll show you some pictures as soon I will get it from them.
On my car the phone keys don't work right now, they are not recognized by the app. So I had to change my voice key so that I can answer a call via the steering wheel and hang up (double assignment of the actions goes via long click).
Recommendation:
For me its´s a clear YES, because I don´t need any custom rom. I just use another launcher.
Please comment on the 10-inchness implementation
Did you have to cut into your car plastics? Or does it stick out an leave a gap? Was there a snug adapter with no gaps and no cutting?
Does it tilt/rotate? If it does, does it stay in place when you are operating it or wiggle under your fingers? Does it stay still on bumpy roads? Etc.

The unit is exactly 2-DIN large so there is no gap and nothing has to be cut from cockpit plastic at all.
The screen stays completely in place even when placing the hand on the top and using the thumb for a screen touch on bumpy roads.
... and yes, it stays still on bumpy roads.
For my car (Mitsubishi ASX) I need a car specific adapter, because the OEM unit is 2-DIN high but about 6cm wider than 2-DIN but with just a 6" screen and lousy firmware/UI and OS. The adapter I buyed needed to get cut, because nearly all 2-DIN chinese units are not really 2-DIN, they are a bit larger. To get the chinese units in my car, I had to cut the hole larger.
With the new unit I would be able to use the original size... so I have to buy a new one.... unfortunately...
You can tilt and rotate the screen to get rid of any glare and you can move the screen up and down, to get the right position at your dashboard.
Until now I don´t see any bad behavior.
hi im facing issue with my android head unit touch screen. the problem is that it is some times jumpy.

Hi please, I need help to fix my andriod HU camera. I followed seller guidance to install and wire the device but it does not automatically switch on when I shift to reverse gear. And I had to install an andriod camera from playstore as I could not find any installed camera. When I manually open the camera in reverse, it work but the image starts from my left side instead of the center. The trajectory line appear from left to right. Can someone help? See pictures.

You need to connect pin G5 on the head units power connector to your reverse light power supply. This triggers the reverse camera to automatically display.
You should uninstall the Android camera app you have downloaded as it isn't needed.
These head units are vertical/portrait by default but have been modified to rotate everything by 90° to operate in horizontal/landscape mode. That's probably why your 3rd party camera app is sideways.
You should be able to view the reverse camera in 1 of the preinstalled apps. Try the app called "AV" or something similar.
Thank you for your response. I apprciate this. But I think I have connected the wires already as you advised. I had one PINK wire labelled BACK and one BROWN wire extending from the power. I connected these two wires to a RED wire extending from the Camera input. So, when I put gear on Reverse and manually open camera, it works but the image is inverted. I have uninstalled the playstore camera but the reverse gear does not trigger the (invisible) in-built camera.
The only pre-installed APP I have that could use a camera is TV. Also I do not have a canbus hency why I joined all wires together. I have also tried using just one wire, the same result. Is there a way I can rotate the camera orientation? I have been frustrated with setting this up. I have tried updating the MCU but no luck with the camera.

Is unit an FYT type? Post Android system information including MCU version
If you have a multimeter check that the wire you connected to pin 5 has 12v when you engage reverse. If it doesn't then it is wired incorrectly.
Yes it does have 12V. I'm thinking it has something to do with the software. Maybe there is no preinstalled camera that is programmed to appear when in reverse and also to remain vertically orientated. I think youbare right that these HUs are setup to open every single apps in horizontal mode and that includes third party camera. Question: Do headunits come with their own camera app? Mine did not come with a default camera software.
