Accidentally accepted OTA, lost root.
BL unlocked (dev ed)
All threads I've found say root no longer works on 98.18.94 but I'm guessing that assumes locked BL which mine is not (dev ed)
Haven't done this in a while -- please help...
Motochopper? Safestrap? Matt's?
Or can I just use ADB to flash TWRP 2.6 -- will that root?
Patience and help greatly appreciated...
Thanks!
uhh if your bootloader is unlocked, just flash a custom recovery, then download the superuser binary and flash it through recovery. boom, rooted
Plase help i have grand prime G530H running stock kitkat then i upgraded to 5.0.2 lollipop russian firmware G530XXU2BPB2 to install custom rom, i installed twrp and custom rom with no problems, now running latest RR Rom, since 5.0.2 lollipop i didnt login to any google account, my question is if i login to google account using RR / Custom roms, is there a chance to block custom binary frp after reboot? I read some threads about custom frp, it is said that need to enable oem unlock but after upgrading to lollipop firmware there is no oem unlock on dev options.

FRP lock will not trigger if you login to your Google account. If the frp lock was triggered it would ask you to login to your Google account that you had on your stock ROM at the beginning anyway. So it's absolutely safe to login to Google account.
FRP lock only triggers if you tried to wipe data and cache from stock recovery while having a pin or password protected Device. The phone won't let you boot.

Thanks for the feedback, i mean custom binary blocked by frp red text on boot screen like bricked and refuses to boot, if installed root or flashed twrp on odin, but nevermind.. sorry for the noob question, my bad... i've found that custom binary error only present in protected or locked bootloader, so it need to enable oem unlock in dev options before installing root/twrp, other GP variants haa protected bootloader, while g530x variant has already unlocked bootloader so no oem unlock in dev options in settings, its safe to install root/twrp/custom.

Looks like you found out your answer.
Just to let you know, it's not impossible to get a frp lock in G530H. Yes I know it's a common case in devices like G531H (Value Edition) or some carrier phones which has locked bootloaders. But I even heard some cases of frp lock in g530h due to some failure while flashing firmware from Odin. But it still should not effect you. As you were able to install custom ROM.. so your safe .
hello, i just unlocked my bootloader and rooted. Accidentally deleted keyguard while removing bloatware. Is there any easy way to restore it? can someone extract the apk from there device and upload it?
VNS-L22C106B150 if that matters.
Thanks
Hello
I tried to find the answer, but I wanted to be 100% sure.
My phone is on April 8.0 and my bootloader is already unlocked.
I wanted to know, if I update via OTA directly to July (1152mb), will it erase user data ? And/or relock bootloader ?
Thanks in advance !
Nope, just unroot and disable tweaks before the ota. After that you can just reinstall magisk via fastboot.
Not if you follow the magisk guide to OTA and reroot.
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tips.md#ota-installation-tips
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/root-mi-a1-oreo-8-0-disabling-ota-magisk-t3728654
Note the warning about not modifying the system partition, even remounting it as rw.
Hello guys, i normally don't have to ask questions in here, because there are so many good tutorials and hekp in here. But now i am stuck.
I use a OP6T with TWRP and unlocked BL and root. I use Magik and updated to the newest Magisk version, but now i am stuck in the fastbootmode
Bootloader Sersion and Baseband Version are empty in the fastboot screen. I can't use TWRP, i can't use the stock recovery mode, i only can turn off and or reboot into fastboot.
Does anybody have an idea to get this thing working again without wiping everything?
Thanks in advance
