Changing CSC - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

My device is from iran and I am in turkey now
I've used turkish firmware before but it was not getting OTA updates so I switched to Iranian one which matches my original CSC file but now I am not able to get vowifi neither voLTE Although I tried to edit other.xml vb.. vb..
Now I want to convert my phone to 100% turkish.. Original CSC code and Active CSC code and everything.. with ability to using OTA updates (throw flashfire of course).. with working volte and vowifi..
What are your advices ?

Download the latest Turkish "OJX" firmware from the known site.
Then backup your device and flash the FW via Odin after the unchecking the Auto Reboot option. I just tried to flash this FW with different CSC and ta-da my device is now on Turkish CSC.
After it passes, force reboot your device with 3-button combo "push the vol down+home+power for 8 secs" and at the moment it switched off push the vol up without release the other buttons, after seeing the S7e logo release all buttons and go into recovery. Wipe data and cache and reboot the device. After it's totally on, switch off and do the wipe thing again then reboot. It should say in the recovery that the "Multi-CSC applied: TUR", if yes, just use your new Turkish CSC device, otherwise you have to root to change the CSC.
It's the way I found while trying to change the CSC of my imported S7e. Good luck.
I overlooked that you edited the "others.xml" file, you're rooted. So backup and edit the "/system/csc/sales_code" and "/efs/imei/mps_code.dat" from THR to TUR then reset to factory settings or wipe in recovery according to your preference.

You're welcome.
As far as I know, only Turkcell has VoWIFI. My carrier is Turk Telekom, so I can't say anything about VoWIFI but the other two carriers have VoLTE service except VoWIFI.

[Q] No wifi, sound and very slow phone after reverting to stock

After using official CM12 for more thatn one year, I decided to go back to stock to sell phone. I moved out of stock before knox, so I didn't have it on my phone.
First I did exactly as described in this post using Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
They indicate 2 ROMs for Brazil, and I chose 4.4.2 - ZTO-I9505VJUFNB2-20140305104104.zip
Everything seemed OK, but there was no wifi. The button to turn it on simply didn't move to ON position. That's when I messed things up.
This is the list of actions I did after that:
1 - Hard reset. No success.
2 - Re-flashed same ROM using re-format and PIT file. No success.
3 - Flashed different modem (VJUFNC1) as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025. Original modem before that was VJUBMG3 (I'm not 100% sure). Things got worse. I still had no wifi, but I also lost sound (even on boot screen there is no sound. Phone also got very slow stuttering. I'd say it's not usable.
4 - Tried flashing a different ROM form Sammobile specific for my country/carrier: I9505VJUFNC1_I9505ZVVFNC1_ZVV. Stil slow, no wifi, no sound.
I've reflashed these same two ROMs with and without pit a few time now. Tried hard resetting and reverting to original modem. No succes. I'm lost, to be honest. Any ideas how to fix this?
I've attached some screenshots from Phone INFO Saumsung details app:

Problems that i see:
- Bootloader and baseband didn't update for that you still having problems.
SOLUTION:
1. The correct firmware for you is this ONE. Download, unzip it and flash the .tar.md5 via ODIN like on the example (pic attached).
2. Let it boot normally till the final. Shutdown your phone and boot in DOWNLOAD MODE again.
3. Flash the same firmware like in the step 1 via ODIN.
4. Dial *#1234# when the process finish and tell me what appears.

Hey, you rock! I flashed it only once and everything is working again. Sound, wifi, everything! Should I still flash second time? Since it's all fine I'm afraid of messing again.
Dialing *#1234# gives me:
AP: I9505VJUFNB2
CP: I9505VJUFNB2
CSC: I9505ZTOFNB3

[Q][noob] Note 4 N910F still with android 5.0.1

Hey guys
I may sound noob but the fact that my phone is still under android 5.0.1 drives me crazy (recent apps lag etc).
I've been checking for updates (OTA) but "Latest Updates have already been installed" message pops up.
I bought the phone from Cyprus (2nd hand) and as far as I am concerned it is fully stock (non-rooted).
Was my device supposed to receive the 5.1.1 update OTA, since other Note 4s in Cyprus were updated to 5.1.1 ?
Thanks!
Anyone guys ?
Was you phone rooted before? I am not sure of what i am going to say, but maybe if it was rooted you might not get official OTA. Turn off the phone, press POWER + HOME + VOLUME UP, and on the top left corner theres a Knox counter, check if it is 0x0 or 1x1. I am new to this phone and i have heard in some of the 2014/2015 phones if you root even if you unroot you won't be able to update via OTA. Hope it helps

That's incorrect even if you trip your knox counter you can still receive otas, your phone has to be fully stock however to receive the otas. If you go to settings about and software information your device status should be 'official'. Another way to check is to boot into download mode (Volume Down + Home + Power button) and check if all the system are official. If they are then you are good to go.
OTAs are usually released in waves so that might be the problem.
Anyhow you can manually update your phone using Odin.
Download this firmware file : http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/56036/N910FXXU1COI1_N910FVFG1COH5_CYV/
Then extract it and put your phone in download mode and connect it to your PC then run Odin as admin. (Make sure Kies is uninstalled)
Put the file in PDA and flash the firmware to your device.
As i said i was not sure, nice someone showed up to help [emoji1]

First of all thank you for your time!
Device Status in Settings -> About is Official.
So, how can I make sure that this is the right Firmware to flash (as the phone was bought from Cyprus 2nd hand, and Im not sure if the other guy bought it from an other country in Europe) ?
Moreover, If i manually install the firmware file, as you stated, do I need to root the phone or something ? Or the device will be 100% official (its just that you install the update through the pc instead of OTA )?
It seems to be taking too long for the OTA, and that's why I was worried.
Thank you again!

The firmware is fully stock, untouched.
You do not need to be rooted to flash the firmware.
You can install this app on your phone and check your CSC

Might I ask are you in the UK (Your current operator) If so you can attempt to flash the UK firmware.
If however you are living in Greece then you could flash one of the Greece firmwares and then flash a stock ROM (It will require a custom recovery, tripping KNOX counter) without the bloat.
The choice comes down to you, another last resort if you don't want to trip KNOX would be to flash a neighbouring country's firmware.

Basically I am from Cyprus but I'm currently studying in the UK. So what's the difference between the various firmwares ? I thought that only the one that is the same as the country you bought the phone is compatible.

Different country firmware can be flashed only sometimes it fails (nothing to worry about) in that case you might have re-package the firmware. Meaning you put the CSC from your country into the firmware.
Anyhow I would you to flash this firmware via Odin:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/58473/N910FXXU1COJ3_N910FOXA1COJ3_DBT/
After downloading the firmware extract the file inside (using WinRar or equivalent)
A factory reset might be required to back-up everything from your phone as the internal storage will be wiped.
Uninstall Samsung Kies, install these USB drivers: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347849220
Download Odin: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347836222
Power down your phone, hold volume down key + Home key and power on the device. Press volume up to continue when promoted.
Connect your phone to your PC via USB.
Run Odin as admin and and put the extracted firmware file in AP and press start.
The phone should now reboot, let it do it's thing. If after around 10 minutes it's still at the Samsung screen.
Power off the device hold volume up + home + Power the device on and using the volume keys select wipe data and cache, then reboot.
Good luck, as always I must give the disclaimer that anything you do with your device is your responsibility.

GPS has gone whack

Hey guys,
Have been running a 4.4 ROM for a while (900i) and I finally bit the bullet and installed Phoenix Rom (900F).
It worked fantastically (aside from the NFC). I did notice the GPS failed to hookup. This was a problem so I restored my kitkat backup. However....
The GPS now no longer works!!? I download an original Kitkat Rom for my provider (optus) off Sammobile. Flashed with it with Odin and still it fails to connect.
Googling has led me to no immediate resolutions. I flashed 4.4 stock again with Odin and did a 5.0 Lollipop update OTA in hope that it would fix things.
It hasn't worked thus far. Was hopefing someone would know what was going on or could provide me with some guidance.
Cheers.
Tried a full factory reset from recovery / android settings after flashing the stock ROM ?

Yep. Still no dice.
Only other thing I can think of is to grab the correct PIT file for your model S5, flash that and a stock ROM at the same time using ODIN
If it still doesn't work after that, it sounds like a hardware issue
You say your phone is the G900I? And you flashed a G900F ROM to it?
Other than that, make sure other devices can get a GPS lock, make sure it's not just the weather stopping it working

Not exactly sure where to get the correct PIT file to flash.
I'll try disabling all weather settings though, didn't think of that one. Cheers

Scroll down and choose your model S5 PIT, Extract to .pit, add to PIT section, and flash with the stock ROM in AP or PDA section as normal
And I meant the weather outside stopping the phone seeing the satellites, heavily cloudy days can cause problems sometimes, but check settings, connections, location, is set to high accuracy

I actually have a place to be which is why I'm desperately trying to fix things.
Unfortunately it hasn't fixed the GPS. I'll have to print out the Google Maps instructions.
EDIT 2: Tried this:
Open Phone, as if you were going to make a phone call and dial -
*#9090# (*#197328640# if that doesn't work)
Menu, select Key Input, enter Q
Menu, select Key Input, enter 0000
wait for the next menu. (It takes a while.)

or, if you don't have UMTS:
UE SETTINGS & INFO->SETTING->SYSTEM->NV REBUILD->ALL

No cigar. Will to another factory reset when I have a chance.
EDIT 3: Did another factory reset through the menu and it said location set my GPS. I nearly fell over!
We're working. Thanks for all your help *Detection*
Great!
Hi there , i've had the same problem when installing a custom rom like PopWiz Telstra or other rom don't no why but this fix works for me every time :
Install latest rooted TW (original Samsung Touch wiz rom) like (Alexandr ROM )
Install from play store Shortcut Master or Phone Info
Open ‘Secret Code Explorer’ menu, scroll down to 27663368378 and launch it (select ‘Launch 0’, root is required).
Then select the latest menu option Hardware sensors
Then the latest option restore (rebuild) NVRAM (or something like that. I’m writing this from my memory )
Reboot the phone
Try GPS – it should work
I have just copy paste it from a site in works like a charm on g900f
Alright. I'm unhappy with the Optus Lollipop 5.0 stock. I can't install xposed because its odexed so I'm going back to the Phoenix 900F!
This time I'm going to install it with TWRP.
Will then go through the troubleshooting attempts in an attempt to have a GREAT rom with a fully functional GPS!~

*Tutorial*Flash China S6 EDGE G9250 to Hong Kong firmware to get Gapps etc.

Howdy peeps i see that there's no tutorials like this here so i decided to help out fellow China s6 edge owners
So as you know G9250 China model doesn't have Gapps on it cuz china things google is spying on them i suppose here's a way to flash Hong Kong firmware on China model to get the gapps
For starters you will need 3 things
5.1.1 Firmware- Link you can risk with 6.0 firmware but i did it with 5.1.1 and worked fine didn't test 6.0 and if you're curious yes it will still work even if you have 6.0 installed i had 6.0 installed and it installed fine SO CHILL BOIZ plus if u want to downgrade to 5.1.1 this is your way to do so
Hong Kong firmware Tar file- Link
Kies for drivers mainly Link
Odin- to install this all *duh* Link
Firstly download everything *duh*
Go to this guide to unlock your bootloader XDA Link
Install KIES just to have all possible drivers installed
Then turn phone off and put it in download mode
To do that turn it off completely and press and hold Volume Down+Home+Power you will see a blue screen with load of chinese text just click volume up that's it connect the phone to your pc via USB
After that open up odin and click on pit it will show a warning just click ok and proceed select Tar file downloaded before and click ok
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then click AP and select downloaded and extracted firmware and click Start
Go watch some my little pony while it installs
After done it it will show Green PASS and boot into recovery to do *Something*
Just wait then it will restart and boot
Theres a small chance that it will show a black screen with some chinese text and 1 button wait for that button to become clickable and click it it will just do a factory reset on the phone wait up and it will reboot and after erasing via recovery it will boot in and BOOOOOM it will show setup screen so select a language and go through a setup and
CONGRATZ now u haz gapps and other google services it has plenty of languages so if you're lazy to look for english then select a random one and then go through a setup then go to settings select the language settings and then change it to English
There u go folks ur china S6 Edge became Sort of international s6 edge thanks to hong kong firmware which has all the gapps etc.
So in a nutshell this will give you
Gapps
Remove chinese bloatware like alipay baidu search etc
Make your phone usable outside of China as pretty much everyone uses google services lol

Would I be able to change the phone's CSC to Thailand in order to activate stock call recording? Has anyone tried yet?
Bootloader looks like its from a phone 20 years older. Odin does not recognize the phone in BL mode. I am using snapdragon. Any ideas? are there new drivers?
Edit: I had to boot back in to android and remove google account, then regular BL showed up. Unlike previous phones, u cant boot to bootloader without removing google account first.
This thread is for the Exynos variant, SM-N986B.

Super takes a good while.
After leaving it for a few hours and getting nowhere, I swapped the USB lead and it worked fine.
Thanks guys.
Flash via ODIN is successfully but CSC does not change
So i am trying to change the CSC of my Galaxy note 20 ultra from DTM to DBT or VD2 ... all of them are a part of OXM multi CSC firmware.
Flashed via ODIN using the right CSC file, and the flash was successful however the CSC did not change ... Tried multiple times and ended up with the same outcome.
Any one else in the same situation?
Did you noticed that's all firmware are the same for most countries (OXM) ?
The same happened me with SFR phone and trying to flash from SFR to XEF firmware

I can imagine, that T-Mobile Germany (DTM) has "locked" somehow for changing CSC to the UN-branded DBT one (which I can understand they are doing this)
I try also To change SFR to XEF and Even to EUX (Unknown), All goes fine with Odin, But in Fact, CSC remain the Same to SFR.
Yup! I can confirm my CSC remained the same as well.

That code doesn't work anymore.
Just got an update in France (Orange): N986BXXU1ATH3_N986BOXM1ATH7_FTM , talks about stability updates in the release notes, would really like to get Call Recording and Samsung Blockchain working : Google Drive Link for DL -> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1omILkloFOYgm0gqyjIRwKlcvjySuBFkB/view?usp=sharing
Also, first flash failed, switched to Samsung USB cable which came with the phone and it flashed with no issue.
