Magnify your screen by using Magnification Gestures - Honor 5X Guides, News, & Discussion

Regardless of how great the screens are on our phones, the content is just too small if you have powerless visual perception. Wearing glasses whole time also irritates a lot. However, the android magnifying gesture feature helps solve this problem.
Magnification gestures allows users to zoom in or out the whole screen of your device. It temporarily magnifies what’s on your screen and pan the entire screen to give a closer look at the screen content.
Here’s how you can enable Magnification gestures in our Honor phones:
1. Go to Settings -> Advanced settings.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Tap on Accessibility.
3. Click on Magnification gestures and enable it.
When magnification gestures are enabled, you can magnify, pan, and zoom in the following ways:
a. Zoom in and out by triple-tapping the screen. Then, while zoomed in, you can:
· Drag two or more fingers to pan across the screen.
· Pinch two or more fingers together or spread them apart to adjust the zoom level.
Note: If you enter or exit an app when zoomed in, you automatically zoom out. Simply triple-tap to zoom in again
b. Temporarily magnify what's under your finger by triple-tapping and holding. In this magnified state, you can:
· Drag your finger to explore different parts of the screen.
· Lift your finger to return to your previous state.
Note: Triple-tap for magnification works everywhere except the keyboard and navigation bar

How To Make HTC One Nearly Full Gesture Based, no root, no tricks, no costs

Just good ol' Android customization and apps, baby:
EDIT: How do I make pictures smaller? Sorry for the giant pics...
Using Swipe Pad (free from Play Store), you can set it up so that it's activated from a gesture from the bottom of the screen (or anywhere else). I have it there so. To activate, I gesture up from the HTC logo (very BBZ10 like). This can be done from anywhere and any app.

Then the "Home" portal (a default option of Swipe Pad) can bring you back to the home screen. Then the two portals around it are to put the device to sleep (via an app that's called Screen Off and Lock, also free) so I don't always have to reach up to the power/wake button.
Then the above level of portals are my most frequented apps. I didn't set anything higher but that may yet come. You can add almost anything you want!
It's not only a handy app switcher of sorts, but also one that allows you to set gesture based commands.
Anyway, links to the apps I used are below.
And there you go, a nearly full gesture base HTC One. The only time I have to really reach up to press the power/wake button is to wake the device.
Just thought I'd share! The only obstacle is when the on-screen menu buttons are present. All the more reason for HTC to update the software to rid us of that obnoxious menu bar.

Now if only you can figure out how to turn it on with swipes without rooting

Some ideas for Windows 10 Mobile

Hi everyone. I often look Windows Feedback and each time a little surprised what users offer do:
"add another view calendar"
"live tiles does not work"
"return the view albums"
"add the closing applications with one button"
"optimize battery consumption"
And this is the end of user suggestions...
I thought for a moment and decided to write about what I lack. I write here because it is very difficult to bring my 'unique' ideas to other users via the application. Of course, there are ideas that have been proposed, but for some reason not scored any significant number of votes. Hope, you will support:
Using phone as SD card. It's very fast and convenient.

Using phone as a webcam. Agree with me it would be cool to use a 41 megapixel camera as the webcam?
Shooting a photo during video recording
Flashlight while shooting a photo
Touch to shoot
The maximum exposure time should be up to 30 seconds
MHL
OTG
Continuum via MHL and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi paired devices
Switching tabs in Edge by swiping left or right on the adress bar, swipe up - view tabs
Back button should close the tab. Also, it should be a button to restore the closed tab(s)
Applications must be closed by pressing "back" key
There should be a button to close playing music
Permanent notifications for processes like downloading
New Universal applications launching is very long
Swipe from left to right to open hamburger menu. Just it should be here
I'm attaching screenshots so you can find your review and to vote for it
So late. Tomorrow completed yet.☺
I would be very happy if I can read and reply to SMS from Windows 10 PC.
Maybe some gestures in Edge - for examples - swiping with two fingers to go to next tab.

Know about Honor 5X - Multi functional Fingerprint scanner

The fingerprint scanner at the back of the honor 5X is fast and accurate, but simply unlocking the phone is not the only thing you can do with the sensor.
Here are some neat things you can do with it:
1. Accessing Locked apps - Your fingerprint can be used to access the locked apps
2. Shutter button - while you're in the camera app, simply touch it and you will snap a picture or start recording a video clip.
3. Answer a call - when someone tries to reach you, press and hold the sensor to answer the call.
4. Stop an alarm - if your device is face down and your alarm goes off, just touch and hold the scanner to disable it.
5. Expand your notification - swipe down on your sensor in order to expand your notification shade and quick settings menus.
6. Clear notifications - Double tap on the scanner to clear your notifications.
7. Launch apps - You can launch an app linked to your fingerprint when the screen is locked. Ex Whatsapp, Camera
8. Call - Call a fingerprint associated contact when the screen is locked.
That's pretty much a lot of added functionality that few other phones have. Impressive, indeed!

Honor 5X - ONE HAND MODE

One-hand UI is user-friendly feature makes more convenient to use Honor 5X with one hand. Sometimes we feel difficult to type text messages with one hand due to the 5.5 inch screen. One-hand UI feature helps to shrink the user-interface to give more convenient to use the device with one hand.
One Hand UI comprises of two functionalities:
1. One-Hand Layout
2. Shifting Keyboard
To activate one hand layout:
Settings > One-hand UI > Enable One-hand layout
If you are holding Honor 5X in your left hand, swipe the navigation bar from right to left.
If you are holding Honor 5X in your right hand, swipe the navigation bar from left to right.
To activate Shifting Keyboard:
Settings > One-hand UI > Enable Shifting Keyboard
Now your Dial pad component will be to shifted left or right leaving the whole background layout as same.
Also some people swipes the navigation bar from left to right or vice-versa and get it unknowingly. If you have came to this thread in search of fixing the Shrunken UI in Honor 5X, just swipe the navigation bar in the opposite direction of the Shrunken UI.

Samsung Sidesync

have been looking for way to mirror and control my view tablet from my pc and had pretty much settled on scrcpy (which is awesome) after trying alternatives such as teamviewer, vysor, etc... unfortunately tho, as far as i can tell, you can't transfer files using scrcpy and the mirrored resolution isn't that great... i tried samsung's built-in sidesync, but it appears that it was designed more for mirroring in portrait mode in that the landscape mirroring is strecthed vertically, at least on my system, which was disappointing because the mirrored resolution is outstanding plus it offers a lot more bells and whistles than scrcpy, including file transfer... thing is, i use mirroring a lot, so the funky screen resolution (stretched) bugged me, it probably won't bother most...
anyway it was an easy fix, just by editing 2 skin files (xml, jpg):
