Is it possible.Moto G has same pixel density and same screen resolution and chipset
Please do it it would be great
CM Actions , Kernel Selinux Changes where will they go its better to compile from source
I am a begginer i dont fully understand the whole concept of building or porting roms. But anything will work
You can give it a shot.Same kernel and chipset, should work.I will test it for sure.
Well im not good at porting i would need some help and mentoring but i would like to see Nougat run on Lenovo a6000
How about Yu Yuphoria? Same everything there too. And they've got a working build already too.
Redmi2 or prime also got nougat. Mostly ported roms frm this phone also. Pls cjeck it out...

Yes,indeed.I can check it out, there was a tutorial how to port roms somewhere here.Redmi 2 ports are usually pretty stable.
Allright, thats the nougat for redmi 2.Its not public yet,but seems quite promising.Guess we will have to wait until its uploaded, but if I get some free time before that I might try to port the moto g3 build(just for fun,of course it wont be as stable as redmi 2 port).
I would also try porting it using mshoaib7s guide but question is which rom to use as base

I have started to port MIUI 7 Marshmallow rom from MI Max to Redmi Note 3.
Here is the MIUI 7 Marshmallow ROM: http://en.miui.com/download-302.html

It's fairly simple to "port" I guess, as far as I know the process consists of: downloading the MiMax ROM and copying over the hardware files from our Kenzo MIUI-7 ROM, of course before any of this your either going to need system dumps or a way to extract the firmwares, and even then you'll need to put together an update-script to properly flash it all, and then you can start testing stuff out to see what works/dosnt and then you rinse and repeat until everything works, I've done this before for another device and although it did boot, there were countless issues and the entire process is archaic and pointless tbh, building from source (but we can't since MIUI is closed source so id say just wait for MIUI8 lol) would be easier in some sense since having the source upfront helps you have an idea of wtf is actually going on compared to the guess work that is copying & pasting libs and stuff from /system/etc, my point is, just wait till June 28th or whenever were supposed to have MIUI-8 since hacking together an M based MIUI-7 for our device based on another devices firmware with "similar" hardware would just be painful and I'd feel sorry for you if you had to do such, then again I could be awfully wrong and the entire thing may work (it is quite possible) relatively easily considering the familiarity of the hardware, I just wouldn't expect it to be bugless, but someone please do prove me wrong, I'd be happy.

1. I have ported Roms for Micromax canvas music, Micromax unite 2. They were mtk. I have themed complete rom for LG l 3 e405. It was Qualcomm.
2. Flashing will be block based. If what I have planned will work.
3. We have no other better option to get marshmallow right now. And I live in present.
4. Without trying I can't know if it is a good idea or not. What I will loose? Few hours. What many will gain? May be a stable marshmallow miui 7.
Be positive.

Here you have a beta tester of your work men! Good luck
Nice..can you please port to MTK?
The leaked version of

This is an invitation to all developers, compilers and testers of Moto X (2014).
We know that probably our device will not receive officially Nougat update and this is really bad, assuming that our strong Snapdragon 801 can smoothly run without any problems.
My suggestion it's to all developers and compilers from any country work together to sync AOSP from Nougat, adapt device tree and bring up our first AOSP 7.0 rom.
I know that CyanogenMod is working on CM14 for victara... But the idea is bring up pure Android. I never see any pure AOSP rom for our device and would be awesome if we have this now. CM14 maybe will delay a bit and I think that all users here want to feel Nougat experience
Some rumours at internet had saying that Snapdragon 800/801 will not have drivers for Nougat... But I know that this is possible because Nexus 5 had Snap 800 and developers already bring an functional AOSP (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/wip-aosp-nougat-nexus-5-t3446875 ). Our developers can check device tree from Nexus 5... See their adaptions in device tree for working Nougat and try to do the same for our Moto X. Maybe disabling Vulkan API for now and we can use same drivers and device tree of Marshmallow!
That's all guys, thanks for reading and we are really expecting an AOSP Nougat for our Moto X before CM14!
The One Plus One (Snapdragon 801) has AOSP Nougat build. Among other devices. The Moto X (2014) is a smaller development community. I was not even expecting CM to build CM14 for this device (see below). It's going to take time
We haven't yet got a Snapshot build (stable release) of Cm13. Small steps.

I agree, we have small team of developers. And this one more objective of this post: attract more developers.
I think that Moto X doens't have too much developers because we had officially updates since Android 4.4... Numbers of people that goes to custom ROMs is really minimal, because the stock of Motorola doens't give reasons to search custom ROMs (like bloatwares or lags).
But now, we are going to road of needing custom ROMs. Now we have more reasons to search for these ROMs, because we'll probably not receive Nougat. Moto X2 XDA Forum go clog of peoples trying to got Nougat.
I hope for a "pure" aosp too, like the "fake rom" for Nexus 4.

Dan(Invisiblek) is working on CM14 for Victara. http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/project:CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_victara+branch:cm-14.0
and our CM13 Nighly builds is very close to a Snapshot build NO BUGS for me xt1092 very stable as Snapshot build.
Yes it's true . I have been using the nightly builds of CM 13 for Victara and it runs really smoothly. I would encourage developers to work on the Nougat ROM for Victara. We will appreciate it. Thanks
I really hope to see Nougat in this phone, sadly I have no knowledge to help in development, but for sure I will test as it become usable material (its my daily phone, so would be nice that alarm at least works as expected)
We already has an bootable CM14 guys! here's link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68555035&postcount=100

MIUI 8
There are several problems with this base ROM:
It's built for ARM64, and, while our devices support it, Motorola have decided that it's better to run 32bit Android (don't know why but ok)
Its base is Android 4.4 KitKat. The G4 Play ships with 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
A much better choice would be the Moto G3 (2015)'s MIUI ROM here (base 6.0.1/CM13, 1GB RAM/8GB storage variant) since it is based on Marshmallow and runs 32-bit. I have tried to port it but it is stuck on the boot logo.

Thank you, I will definitely try, but it probably won't succeed because it is based on 5.1.1 while the Moto G4 Play ships with 6.0.1. I will let you know if it works.

Btw, I'd like some staff to close topic, It must be unnecessary for now.

I port the ROM from osprey to harpia, the camera and sensors don't work in my ported ROM
I am trying to port s8 8.0 oreo to my s6 e+ and having some issues. This is my first attempt. Before today all I have done is build lineage or aosp from source and compile it using lunch via terminal. The specs are similar, same screen, similar processors besides the s8 obviously having less nm and a bit of speed. Cortex processors. Same flash memory. Same ram but 2gb less. I can get the rom to compile and install but it bootloops. I have tried leaving it untouched and debloated with knox removed. Never having ported a rom I am not sure if I need to swap any files. I looked for a tutorial but they are outdated and not all that helpful when it comes to touchwiz. Can anyone out there help me please? Should I put my device tree into the files I extracted from the s8 stock firmware? It's obviously not going to boot based on its own hardware info unless I missed a step somewhere? I generally don't ask such in depth questions here but I am pretty stumped. I've spent 2 days reading and trying different things. I've also tried flashing the fixes for oreo on s6e+ for no verity and kernel/cam fix. I know a lineage 15 port exists, i have my own build where i use pixel launcher and removed/added some things. but I'm trying to keep touchwiz and all the samsung goodies while getting oreo.
U are in bootanimations or black screen ? Can u take a logcat while in bootloop to see where ur issues ?

yes i can get a logcat, it bootloops. i will do that in a couple of days. i just got a port from lineage15.1 / nexusOS to boot up on my device so thats a big step in the right direction. but i really want touchwiz so i am going to push forward with this project after my database exam tomorrow

first of all aosp and touchwiz roms are pretty different and without having libs from another device running touchwiz oreo with same soc as s6e+ it is almost impossible to work s8 has a quite newer soc so dont wait for libs from s8 to work and dont even think of using lineage 15.1 kernel to boot touchwiz oreo, i have tried to boot up touchwiz oreo on my s6 with an edited kernel for touchwiz oreo but that didnt boot because i need new libs from oreo so my suggestion for you would be wait for A8 2016 (A810S) to get oreo
