Hi everyone!
Since 2014, when I had Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150, that I change frequently of rom.
My phone now is the LG G3 D855, so when I install another new ROM, I will update this thread!
I always thought that could be useful for someone to do this.. Then I thought better like: "Why couldn't be me?", so I decided to create my own thread about ROM reviews.
Hope that I can help you!
LIMITLESS FULL UX5.0 V10.3 | 30a | Marshmallow |
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/limitless-rom-t3318129
Stock ROM theme (that I really like), but the battery is really bad in every update.
BlurOS 6.0.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-bluros-lg-g3-t3408517
It's an error when flashing, so I couldn't try. I will try later.
G Plus 3.0 | AOSP STYLE | v30a | Marshmallow |
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...m-g-plus-aosp-style-v30e-marshmallow-t3354369
Really love this theme, but there's a problem of overheating.
The battery seems normal.
Snapchat doesn't work.
★ Turbo ROM ★ Layers ★

Error when flashing. I will try again later.

The best battery life so far.
Great theme (stock).
Overheat a lot and the apps crash easily.

Do you want more reviews about other roms for the LG G3?
Ask me for it and soon I will update this thread!
If you think that I was useful for you, please press the thanks button!
Thank you! :good:
Thank you mate (Owner of Wonder)!
If you want to flash any custom ROM which not based on Stock ROM and you were on MM baseband, you should flash LP baseband you can find flashable zip in cm13.1 thread.

I already used some of your roms and all of them was great!
Now I don't have Wonder anymore, but thanks to you my phone became really great!
I know, I flashed a lot of roms, but just since July that I make my own reviews.
But thanks anyway for the advice!
Maybe one day I could make a review of a rom of yours for the LG G3!

Thank you so much!
About N&N, yes, try it and send me your review if you want it!
If you want me to make another review about other rom, just tell me
Excellant thread
I have the D855.
I used Fulmics 5.3, 6.0 and 6.1 all great with me loved it. Performance great, poor battery back up. All the tweaks included are fine. Used stock kernel and Xceed kernel, Xceed kernell is not mad for doexed ROM, so not really good on Fulmics. Clash Royal working fine.
Curentlly on AOSP-CAF v5, with stock kernel. All good, super light super fast, great battery. One big issue for me: Clash Royal (game) tend crash randomly. Installed Kernel Auditor and reduced vibration strength and enabled fast charging, intellithem, SIO scheduler, simple GPU algorith for msm-aderno-tz. All this does not help to get Clash Royal working properly. Will continue to read and try to tweak slowly.
If it does not help, I will try aCC lite kernel v1.2 later (in 2 weeks maybe).
If you can give this ROM a try and let us know what you think.
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-aosp-code-aurora-forum-t3400800
Note: the developer stopped working on MM as he is working to get N working on G3 (long way to go).
hi bro, if you re still on N&N rom, can you upload some screenshots from tweaks section, i am wondering can i found needed tweaks like on fulmics?

Hello Guys,
At the moment, I'm using an official rom of my country at the latest build, and I'm not very happy at the performances and the battery life,
Wanted to ask you guys about a rom that you know/heard about and you would recommend me, I've tried XtrestoLite but the battery life was awful and after a while the phone getting awfuly slow.
As I mentiod, My model is SM-G900H (Exynos), Many thanks guys...
Every other users of XtreStoLite Rom reported that, their battery life and phone performance increased by using this Rom.
But you said it was awful.. That's not believable to me..
BTW, For our 900H model no more Roms available. Except XtreStoLite and MIUI V5 Rom. ..

Hello! I've been using Cloudy ROM for a long time but now I feel lack of RAM on my G2 Int. That's why I search for the ROM as close to pure Android as possible. Please, advice me some. Thanks!
P.S. I record a lot of video so tell me what to install in addition to this ROM in order to capture nice photos and videos. Thanks a lot.
Resurrection Remix
Give a try to Resurrection Remix rom, one of the best I've been testing.
Any LG ROM is better than any AOSP/CM ROM for G2. Fact. Stay on LG ROMs.

Both roms have pros and cons.
On AOSP (MM) multitasking is much better.
On LG Stock camera and battery is better.

You can try exodus and cm13 or blisspop.
I have benchmarked on exodus rom , clean install, via antutu benchmark and i get low score than my currently installed lollipop stock with bunch of apps and stuff.
Anyway , for me , if you dont want lots of customization and stuff, or not looking to get a marshmallow on your device, then flash stock lollipop, root, install twrp, install dorimanx kernel, greenify with exposed, and enjoy highest possible battery life.
go for the rom called Google edition 1.5. Flash Dorimanx. Be happy.
I use Dirty Unicorns with Lambda Dominó kernel and right now i have the most high batt/speed i ever had on my G2...
I'd say:
- for lightweight stock experience take somboon's stripped-down rom
- for a modern UX rom, take Ice-x rom. Take this one if You want to focus on photos and videos.
- for an up-to-date original android experience take Dirty Unicrons and Exodus roms. Both are AOSP base, both offer stability and lots of features.
These roms don't offer milions of customisations, but provide a great experience with excelent batterty life. At least for my D802.
I used all of them them as car navigation and did a lot of document photographing for my work.
All 4 are good daily drivers and never failed me.
It is up to You to tune the roms to Your needs. I have found out that both Dirty Unicrons and Exodus don't really need a custom kernel.
However Dorimanx's kernel is highly recommended for stock-based roms.
So I recomend You Ice-X with Dorimanx's kernel, but I don't know which version will work best for You.
I add that the AOSP MM roms are heated much more than the stock. Stock 25ºC-36ºC and 32ºC-44ºC AOSP...
With the lambda kernel and underclocking they improve a bit, but still warming up the phone rather than the stock, especially when using some app like the camera, gps,...
- For AOSP MM and great customization, Resurrection Remix rom [6.0.1_r46][UBER-GCC 4.9][CM13], great rom, + kernel lambda stable, improve overheating.
- For stock rom for my the best is ROM 5.0.2. stock based SRKG2-4-10 (Fast,Stable,Yummy) [3 In 1 ROM with Thai Food Names]
I looking for the best ROM based on 6.0 for HTC M8.
I found 13 ROMS.
The problem with my STOCK ROM is killing launcher after browsing Chrome.
I think too much RAM is used. It would be nice if somebody have tested some of them, and say which is the best currently to use.

Reading 5 pages of topic so far, ranking:
1. Ice ROM
2. S ROM
(Strictly for battery, last page)
ResurectionRemix N -
" don't install play store nor google play services (battery eating monster).
Stock -
with most apps&bloat removed/disabled (including store and gp services)"
Edit.
For killing launcher problem, helped me on stock ROM uninstalling Battery Doctor which consumes lot of RAM. I migrated to Kaspersky battery life app.

JW 5.4.0. And like you said Dev Edition ROM or stock debloated ROM for your CID/MID.
Stock GPE + SkyDragon v.1 is f****** smooth
I definitely have to say s.rom jw 5.4 + elementalx is one of the best sense roms.
Thank you for your responses. Topic remains open .
But so far I just installed Battery Doctor and I automatically kill unused apps by this, and it helped.
I can't only install Viper4Android without root, so probably I will finally change stock ROM.
Would be nice to get some quadrooter exploit as a method for rooting. Kingo root on PC fails.
I've used Viper One M8 as my go to ROM, it does *almost* anything I could want. The one thing it falls short on is that when I use V4A I lose Boom Sound, because they have so much custom software that what's available isn't meshing well. I can either use BS or V4A. Running HK on it has been impossible for me.
LeeDroid ran like a clock, but I was picky, and it lacked some customization that I missed in Viper One.
I have yet to get ARHD to run on my phone without losing the ability to use it as a phone.
Skydragon is another I could not get to boot, it loops, or sits at the boot screen.
CM13 kills those special little things the M8 can do that makes it "special", like the 3d effects of the Duo Camera, but is otherwise CM just like it is on everything so you know what to expect.
Tried Blues once, but it was long ago, and had random reboot issues (thought to be due to using f2fs), Plan to give it another shot soon.
Jazz (the sense equivelant to Blues) gave me the same thing as Blues (again thought to be due to f2fs), but overall ran well, felt like stock with less bloat (which I liked).
S-Team I haven't tried since it's early days, the animations are sped up, made me feel like I was being rushed, so I just moved on. No valuable opinion there. Didn't have any issues as I recall though.
ICE Repack was interesting, felt very similar to ViperOne M8, ran smoothly, but felt the same so my flashing addiction was left unfulfilled. No complaints about it though.
I think that's all I have from the list, and off the top of my head. It's a rather opinionated breakdown, but not so much as to be some pointless rant or anything. Just sharing what I know right now. If you can get ARHD running smoothly on a Verizon M8 and have all radios functional then please share. I would love to give this one a good run to see what the hype is about.
Thank you for exhaustive response!
If anybody still wants to describe their experience about smoothness, stability, sound quality, multitasking on some ROMs, you're welcome.

Blues* GPE forever
I could never renounce the speed of pure stock GPE, the sound quality H / K and the beauty of the images taken with HTC Duo camera not to mention the slowmotion ..... useless to try another.:good:
So it's the stock variant of Blues ROM from here...

But it would be nice to root it for my purposes, since that "stock" is not rooted.
Even my current, original stock would deserve it..

I enjoy Android Revolution HD a lot. I had CM before but the dual camera didn't work and i wanted to try out the dot view thingy so i switched to ARHD and never looked back. A couple weeks ago i had a weird bug with it tho. I have a Pebble watch and the app suddenly couldn't find the watch anylonger. I had to do a factory reset to get it working again.
Write in ROM's thread about it. Maybe they'll fix it for future users
I did. They said i should contact the dev of the app. Which i did beforehand.
Somebody mentioned about showing dots in case in some ROM.
HTC dot view app is responsible for that functionality
Currently using Wolla 6.2 best bettery life that i can get with sense rom.
Hello everybody, just wanted to share my honest review of using custom ROMs on OnePlus X and below are my reviews of a few ROMs :-
1. AOSP_JDC Team: The battery backup and performance are good, and there is no lag. The ROM is stable and fluid.
2. AOSP Oreo 8.1: As usual the performance is good, battery backup is ok and there is no lag.
3. Lineage OS 15.1: Seriously I had a very bad experience with this ROM. When I flashed it there were no issues, the battery backup was excellent but suddenly after half an hour the message kept popping up "android.process.acore keeps stopping", I also flashed the latest build not of any use.
4. Resurrection Remix 5.8.3: This ROM is also good but for me there was Data Connection error.
Currently I'm back on Stock ROM. Its not 100% stock because I modified the stock rom by rooting and using magisk modules. I also flashed Viper4Arise_Sony_Stock_Edition to increase the sound quality.
I'm happy on my modified stock rom. Currently not planning to flash any custom rom. :good:
