P. S
Do you have Google PS icon at all?
first thing to try is going to settings apps / from finding playstore, google play services and google services framework and one by one clearing the data on all of them and rebooting.
if not successful uninstalling updates for playstore and play services might help.
You might want to look into the app/script someone made for switching to supersu while you're at it. Search xda and you'll find it. Supersu is far less shady.

You should have latest updated Google Play along with Google Play Services. To do so, goto settings & tick background data & auto sync options. Wait for sometime to let it update itself. Done.

1.Make sure you have the very latest version of Google Play store installed.
2. Try force closing your playstore, Go to Settings > Applications > Manage application > all apps > Google Play store > Force close
3 if the above method worked for you, now start to download "Google Play services". Can be helpful at some times, also a space hogger so beware.
What error appears, any error code or words ? or what happened ?

I'm working on a android app that can track an android device remotely, but I need to be able to enable the devices GPS remotely also. Does anyone know how to do this? I've been searching all over google but all the examples need to be able to edit secure settings but my app isn't a system app so it can't access that permission.
Thanks,
Nathan
There was a method to do that which used a bug in the Android system but it has been fixed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697465&page=2

I've got the same trouble with my SGH-i337m from Mexico, I just turned to wanamlite 1.5 i9505 and then when I try to sign in it says "invalid device id". I've read a few things about changing build.prop but I don't know how.
To change build.prop you have to be rooted. And either download an app that does that and or browse to it via a root browser and modify it. Make a backup because if you mess up something your hosed. Soft bricked anyhow.
I don't have any problems however I would suggest clearing cache and data through settngs then apps. You are using your Sammy id right?

Thanks for the quick reply, I have buildprop editor, I'm root, but what should I change to sign in correctly to video hub?
I wouldn't change build.prop unless I absolutely had too. It does work on AT&T software. So modifying build.prop would only make ur device look like T-Mobile or others if that's what was suggested through other threads.

I'm not sure why the solution was to modify build.prop.
Thank you

I had stock rooted and I changed to Wanamlite i9505 custom rom.
Hello!
The version of my Theme store is 1.03.13(20160222). When I try to update it, I get the message that says "a unknown error has occured, Try again later. (s2)". After that I did installed CatLog and tried then to update the app again. In the log I found this:
08-15 21:08:27.689 W/System.err(25339): at com.samsung.android.themestore.manager.packageservice.aa.handleMessage(TPackageService.java:1883)
Is there any other sollution than to reflash the stockrom, update the app and then root the phone again?

Hey guys good news just tested Google assistant working on my nexus 6 running custom 7.0, here's what you need to do,
Add this line to build.prop
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
And product model to Pixel and also you must have the latest Google app version and voila
So for guys still having crashes ill tell what you've to do
1- rooted Nexus 6 running stock or custom 7.0 with root Explorer
2- Google app 6.6.14.21.arm with pixel launcher installed
3- go to root Explorer and edit the build.prop as mentioned above, for our device it is necessary that you also edit product model to Pixel
4-reboot your phone
5-wipe data from Google app
6-press long home button, assistant should work now
7-ok Google detection from any screen is broken atm
8-if you want ok Google inside assistant, uninstall Google app updates and in previous Google app version go to voice and record your voice 3 times, this would make ok Google work inside assistant not from home screen or any other screen
9-press thanks if I helped
What is Pixel product name? just "pixel"?
Yeah

It works on my Nexus 6 by long pressing the home button.
But .......... I made the pesky Google search bar transparent and removed the Google logo.
The search bar is there but not visible.
Now it is white again - ugly.
Not working
On pure nexus rom 7.0 Google app version 6.5.35.21

Settings/Apps/Google app
Storage
Manage Space - and delete everything
Edit: confirmed, it works for me too. Needed both build.prop changes, and after the second change, I've cleared the Google app data, and after the reboot it worked.

Thanks for replying. That was the behavior I was seeing as well. I'm Google app version 6.6.14.21.arm. Running Stock Nougat - Rooted. I've reverted the build.prop changes for the time being.
I thought it was maybe the storage permission not being granted, but I allowed it and the issue still persisted.
I'm unable to grab any logcats due to some logcat read error.
Works on my Shamu, except for the voice model won't stick.
