Is there a way to fix Facebook messenger pasting? It bugs the hell out of me not being able to paste when using chat heads and having to close the chat heads and go into the full app to paste something

Is there anyway to stop chat auto signing in, I find it a pain when I go to check Facebook but don't want to chat. People start chatting or send me messages when I am to busy to chat.

Just go to the chat section of Facebook for Android, tap Menu, then tap Go Offline and it'll stay that way until you enter the chat section again
Am I then offline at the pc also? So stores facebook that I am offline our only the phone?

You'll still be online at the PC, PC and Facebook app work independent from one another so to say

Wrong
Try to chat on android and open facebook on your PC. Pop up window will come out and chat will be shown on both devices

I find it easier to use friendstream. I rarely use the fb app so that removes the chat problem

go to settings, apps, then clear data and cache from facebook app, then download the latest facebook from market, sign in (HERE IS IMPORTANT NEVER CLICK ON THE CHAT TAB) then go to market, download facebook messenger (the official one) and log in the facebook messenger.. thats it...
when you want to be offline, just log out from the facebook messenger app with one click, and if you want to chat just log in in the facebook messenger app with just one tap, also facebook messenger app its better because you can have group chats, and send photos through it

or just delete the app and use the new HTML5 mobile web interface which is great (it's like the iphone app).
Also do not forget to close all the fb session from the desktop web interface.

Yup, this is what I do, the HTML5 page is actually better than the app in most cases!

Same here! It's a lot better and quicker I find.
Also, I found that when I did use the App to chat it closed the the window on the PC. Don't know whether this is a new feature.
If they just updated it to make it like the HTML5 page it would be a lot better.
hi i have already posted a similar thread to this one but didnt get any satisfactory answers or solutions, hopefully this time some one can HELP me
my Facebook (the HTC sense built in application facebook) does not download any pictures to my phone at all - no contact pictures or pictures from albums of my friends on facebook. even the FBcontact folder in windows is empty. my phone is sync with my facebook account, i dont have my contact sync with outlook so i dont see what is wrong with it. DOES ANY ONE KNOWS WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
also, my Twitter - the Peep app will not allow me to log in. every time i try to log in a window pops up that says that i have entered a wrong username and password wich i didnt. if i try to install the peep hotfix a window pops up again the says that the hot fix is not for my phone.
i have installed the lates vodafone ROM 1.41.161.1 WWE
i made HARD RESET once but nothing had changed
anybody knows what can i do to make it work again? if any ideas please reply

prob facebook : close FB app. go to default web browser (Opera or IE )and choose option enable view photo.go to FB app

Have you tried with a standard Web browser? eg. opera login to Facebook and see if there showing pictures? because I think the problem is in the settings
i dont think it is the web browser. not sure now if u know for sure what i was talking about. it is the BUILT IN SENSE FACEBOOK APP mate. when i go to all PEOPLE and try to link a contact with a facebook contact the picture will not be downloaded. it will show a down arrow wich is suppose to mean that the pic is being downloaded but this down arrow is ment to be in a ring or something. mine isnt. its just a down arrow wich dissaper after a second or two. just seems like the pic get lost somewhere in a 2nd dimension lol
the contacts are linked (phone and facebook) but the pics to them are missing. the same when i try to open a facebook album from a linked contact, the pic wont be shown, downloaded.
maybe u can try downloading the latest FB app, V1.1.0.26, search for it in the marketplace..
Facebook : disable https on your facebook account
Twitter : i have the same problem, the hot fix doesnt install. I wrote to htc and they said "try to uninstall and install it again"
I hope they release a fix for twitter and for https on facebook soon...

After doing some research on Google I stumbled upon this page that explains that having "Facebook for Blackberry Smartphones" in your app list on Facebook your push notifications will work. So I found someone who still uses a Blackberry (wasnt easy) and all I had to do was log into my Facebook on their phone and enable notifications and wait for my news feed to load. Then I just logged out. Went on my computer and sure enough the "Facebook for Blackberry Smartphones" appeared in my App list under account settings. Then on my EVO I just cleared the Facebook app data and logged in again and sure enough my Push Notifications were working. I have cleared the data before and it never worked so I dont know why having the Blackberry thing makes it work but it has for me. No more flooding my gmail inbox with Facebook crap... Please feel free to try this and post if it works for you.

The Facebook app includes chat and if I remember correctly Facebook also made a separate app to chat that is also on the market.

Facebook text chat is still available in the Android app; left corner- 3 lines tap those and a full page menu opens.
I personally just use imo.im and put all of my chat protocols in there. GTalk, Skype, Yahoo, MSN, Facebook, and many more.
It does not do video chat with anyone via GTalk or Skype, but if someone wants to do that I just launch the native app. Then I do not have to worry about doing facebook chat from within the FB app.

Thanks! I never thought to scroll down in that menu. I usually just use that menu to search for a friend and since I'm in a few groups I never saw the chat option below.

I believe facebook has a separate app for ipad, while we have to use the ugly phone version on our tablet
anyone knows about a solution for the chat that scrolls up on the browser on ics?

For some reason whenever I get chats from Facebook, the floating chat won't pop up. I get the notification from the messenger app and when I press it nothing happens. Just wondering if there is a way to fix this or??
