So, practically everyone I know has already updated their Samsung S4 to 4.3
None of them have had their phones rooted, but I decided to root my phone to get some apps that required root access.
With that in mind, KIES no longer recognizes my phone when I connect it and says it's an unsupported device.
Trying to update the phone from the 'Software update' in the actual phone doesn't give me a message regarding 4.3's release.
So, I was wondering, does having my phone rooted (I also have CWM custom recovery installed) break KIES and not allow me to update to 4.3
I really want to install the new firmware.
Any advice/help?

Where do I get the stock version from though?
I bought the phone from the United Arab Emirates and currently reside in Jordan, Middle East.
Does this information change anything at all?

You have an i9500. Go to sammobile.com and you can download the firmware. You have to register but it's free. You'll download a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file. Use that file in Odin, PDA slot

Can you get me a link? I'd be extremely grateful, as it stands I get extremely confused when I go to that website because I can't tell which firmware to download as I'm unsure which one relates to my country.
Also will this remove my root access?

Goto www.sammobile.com. Look for the firmware that ends in mg9
I went to the website and clicked check firmware, according to that I have the most recent baseband version for my phone 'United Arab Emirates - LYS'
Is it possible that 4.3 just hasn't arrived to this version yet, because according to that website it just isn't available for download yet.

For the UAE 4.3 is available for one carrier but not the other. I don't know what carrier you're on

Yeah, you can see from my baseband version that I'm on LYS.
'United Arab Emirates - LYS' Is what I'm on.
Apparently all my friends are on XSG, or the I9505 which already has 4.3 available.
I don't see why having root access wouldn't let me install 4.3 through the software update on my phone so I'm assuming it just isn't out yet?

What country code are you on now? This German (DBT) suppose to be for unbranded phones, but people have problems flashing this. Keeps getting fail in Odin. I'm having this too and I'm standing back for the moment awaiting solution.
You can flash the Polish (XEO) NB3 and the file can be downloaded from sammobile.com/firmwares

You mentioned nogo to 4.3 due to bootloader however i dindt check the bootloader option in odin (see screenshot). Should i tick that as well next time?
Well there is some debate as to if you should check the bootloader or not.
With the leaked Polish firmware it came in seperate files. You needed to check to upgrade the Bootloader.
With the XEO single .zip firmware you don't need to check it as it upgrades automatically - plenty agree with this. -- There is a few people who say that by not checking it, it hasn't upgraded for them and some just recommend you check it for good luck sake.

MEGA is country based per account. So if I upload to my MEGA it comes from a UK Server which is slow to Asia/America etc, trick is to set up your own MEGA account, and then import it from the download MEGA link and it'll switch to a server in your country and you'll get faster download speeds

Hi!
I have an Indian Version of S7 Edge G935FD and I wish to flash the BTU version for the Nougat update.
I have a few queries first:
1. Can I use an Indian Sim (Or Any other country's Sim)on the rom? (The packaging has the Indian Sim Only label)
2. Will the network be smooth? I use 4G here. Are there any issues that I may face or any one of you faced?
3. Anything else I should know?
Thanks!

2. Will the network be smooth? I use 4G here. Are there any issues that I may face or any one of you faced? - Yes, your network will work normally. You won't notice any difference. The only thing you won't have is VoLTE.
3. Anything else I should know? - Only do this if you want Nougat NOW. Otherwise wait until it's relased on your firmware. But you won't have any issues.
Thanks!

Yes. I am too excited for Nougat so I'm unable to control myself. The issue is there is no word on when the Nougat will come in India. The samsung officials have no comment except "There is no update about it yet" or "we do not have official timeline for nougat update in Indian market"
An official word on an estimated time frame for the update would work wonders. Is there any reason why I should wait?

One last question. The link given in another thread doesn't work or has download limit. Is this (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935F/BTU/) the correct site for official signed btu ?
and I am downloading odin and instructions from here: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-galaxy-s7-edge-nougat-ota-update/

Hello everyone,
I'm new here, so please bear with me, and I'm sorry in case this thread is duplicated, but I searched everywhere and I could not find anything about what i'm going to write here.
I got a new galaxy S20+ 5G Exynos phone on 18-May-2020, since then I tried every single online tutorial or thread to flash a stock ROM on my phone, and nothing worked, the flash show pass on odin but it just did factory reset to my phone, that's it.
I used Odin 3.14.1 and Odin3_v3.14.1_3B_PatcheD
I enabled developer options, OEM unlocking and USB debugging
I downloaded the stock firmware from sammobile website.
Now, I understand that my phone CSC code is XSG , and I'm trying to flash the phone with a firmware CSC code is DBT , but i used to do this a lot before.
So, What is the issue exactly?, What I'm doing wrong?, What I did or thought wrong?
The help and guidance are really highly appreciated.
Thank You
Regards

Here's a guide to extract the required csc file and how to put it in your phone and get it to work.
There is also other ways to do it. In fact there is many many many ways of you bothered to search for it using a simple search engine. The method is the same for samsung s8 onwards. There is also countless YouTube videos.
There is even an app that can do it on Google play store that doesn't require root if you bothered to search.

Hello,
First of all, You need to chill out a little man, I'm a Linux Systems Engineer, So I understand and I appreciate everything that everyone is doing in here, and I did not mean to bother anyone or to disrespect anyone.
I did pass across all of these links, and none of them worked with me, also my phone is SM-G986B/DS NOT SM-985F , plus, most of these links are outdated, my phone HW version is March-2020, and these links since 2018.
Sometimes it is OK to say I do not know, because it seems that there is something different in my phone which i do not know what is it.
Thank you
I really appreciate your time trying to help me.

Hello,
This Where I get the firmware --> www.sammobile.com
This is where I got the software to do or change advanced settings on my phone, also has the ability to flash the phone too. --> https://chimeratool.com
Hi @ahmed.elsersi
Did you by any chance try adapting the process on this thread for the S9+? I'm in a similar situation, need to change an XSG phone to TEL or XSA, and considering giving this a try.
Cheers..
Don't waste your money on chimeratool. Use sam key to change the csc, minimum you can buy is 3 credits which i think is about $5 Aud. But it only takes 1credit for a csc change. You can keep the reset of the credit for the future use, if you want to go back to your old Csc.
I changed my TEL ( Telstra Australia)csc which is the slowest carrier to get an update to DBT (one of the first to get an update) and also now my s20ultra has 2 sims and 1 esim option. Happy Happy!
