Is it possible to use an app like Tasker to switch between 3 or 4 apps using a swipe, snap of the fingers, proximity sensor, or redefined home button? It would need to simply flip through the 3 or 4 selected apps.
Not possible as of now.. You can use GMD Gesture Control to swipe between apps.

So I thought about hiding the softkeys on my phone and replace them with sliding/swipe actions. So if you swipe from the button of your screen into it, there is the ring you see in lockscreen or when swiping from the softkeys up. From there you are able to select the default keys. Right top->multitasking, left top->back, middle top->home... If we use those swipe options, we have some more space to use on our phone and the 4.7 screen can fully be uses

Use search next time
Try using paranoid android or any rom with PIE feature. So you dont need navbar anymore.

Hi guys,
I'm using force doze but i face a strange issue. Sometimes waking up the phone with home or side button doesn't activate lockscreen. I think it might be becauseI have to put lockscreen in the app whitelist, Can anyone provide me the package name of the lockscreen? I can't find it

You have set the doze time below the automatic lock screen timeout (usually 5s). Disable "ignore lockscreen timeout" in force doze settings

Has anybody been able to get the fingerprint scanner to bypass a secondary security feature to open the phone after doing double tap to sleep while using a different launcher? I like Action Launcher 3 but so far every double tap to sleep app that can be controlled by AL3's gestures requires knock code to open the phone even if the fingerprint scanner is used to wake the phone. I found one that worked with my previous phone (GS7E) but it's not compatible with this phone. So far every app I've tried hasn't worked (including ones that say they are MM fingerprint compatible).

Ohh... So that's what happens. I thought my phone was randomly turning off the fingerprint feature. Using Nova and that's happening to me as well
It's something that's been happening since MM
you can double tap the status bar and it will work but limits you to double tap only on that area (even the Nova beta has the issue too)
In MM there was a workaround using Screen Lock Pro app form the playstore, but it no longer works in Nougat
Hoping the developer fixes it soon(if possible).
If youre rooted nova allows you to use fingerprint after double tap to sleep now

Use the app DTSO from the Google Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.enlace.doubletap&hl=en
Place an invisible widget on your homescreen & you have DTTS.
Yes,you do need to make room for a widget on your homescreen, but, unless you cram pack your desktop with apps/floders/etc...,this shouldn't be hindrance.
Will this work with secure locking,IDK,I just use swipe to open, but,if you're looking to regain DTTS,it's worth a shot.

DTTS is not the problem, we can get it to do that.
The issue is the secure lock and wanting to use fingerprint sensor on the subsequent wake.

I've had absolutely zero issues with my FP scanner and Nova Launcher Prime. I just tested your issue (double tap status bar, then unlock with fingerprint). I went straight back to Chrome, where I was previously. No secondary security hurdle at all. I'm on the tmobile variant.

Yes on the status bar it's fine but not any open spots on the homepage.

I've got double-tap on my home screen set to open Google Now. I didn't even think you could turn off the screen double tapping anywhere but the status bar?
Like the title said, is there a mod for the s7/edge to double tap the home button and bring down the status bar halfway down like the iPhones does?
You could do this with Tasker and the AutoNotification plugin.
There's 3x home button press under accessibility if I recall correctly. It shrinks the screen, and thus has the same use
You can also use nova launcher. It has gestures like swipe down on any part of the screen, or double tapping the screen that you can assign to bringing down the status bar.
They are quite useful.I for myself use swipe up to bring up app drawer, double tap to launch whatsapp, double tap and swipe down to launch browser
