Time Lapse Mode
Time-lapse is a technique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured (the frame rate) is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. For example, an image of a scene may be captured once every second, then played back at 30 frames per second; the result is an apparent 30 times speed increase. Time-lapse photography can be considered the opposite of high speed photography or slow motion.
Time-lapse photography is the process of capturing lots of photos over a period of time, and then assembling them together to create seamless video footage that appears sped up. It’s the opposite of slow motion videos where time appears to be moving more slowly.
If that sounds like a lot of work – that’s because it is! But luckily for us, our Honor 5x can do this for us quickly and effortlessly. All you have to do is tap the start button and begin filming.
Depending on your subject and your approach to time-lapse, this can result in video footage which is very compelling, often funny and always interesting.
What Makes A Good Time-Lapse Subject?
Time-lapse is like a microscope on time. Due to the way it speeds up your subject’s movement, it can reveal movement that we barely notice with the naked eye.
So anything that moves or changes slowly makes a good time-lapse subject. For example, clouds, snails, caterpillars, tides, flowers opening in the sun, candles burning down, cake or bread rising in the oven.

Food is actually the second most popular subject for amateur photography fanatics on Instagram, second only to ourselves of course, with pizza topping the charts as the number one food subject.
Without worrying much I can edit the pictures, add my watermark and use appealing food filters which makes my photo even more exciting.
Good Food mode made my life so much easier with much details.

The selfie camera on the Honor 5X comes with beauty mode, which you can adjust as you see fit.
Beauty mode has a slider from 1 to 10 to allow you to refine how processed you want your face to look.
It removes the spots, blemishes, scars from your photo.
Note: Turning all the settings up to max (i.e 10) will makes us extraterrestrial

Somebody from forum and I noticed a very strange feature in the stock camera on the Oneplus 5. I don't know whether it was done specifically or not, but the quality of photos in auto mode and in Pro mode is very different. And I'm talking about Pro mode, but without additional manual settings. Let's call this mode Pro-auto. The thing is, if you take a photo in auto mode the detailing of distant objects (especially trees, grass) is violated and the picture becomes horrible, the picture looks like a watercolor painting. This is clearly seen with croping. But if you take the same photo in Pro mode with automatic settings, you will not see the watercolor. The picture becomes more qualitative and detailed. Interestingly, the exposure time and ISO in auto and Pro-auto modes can be the same, but the result will be different. Probably algorithms for processing photos in the auto and Pro modes are not the same. Auto mode uses strong noise reduction more than necessary, because of this we see a watercolor effect. For comparison, I present a few photos in auto (without HQ and HDR) and Pro-auto got by 1+5 and a photo in auto mode by 1+3 (without HQ and HDR).

Looking pretty good, but if we crop and compare with Pro-auto mode photo, we will see the difference.
Even OP3 has more details.
Next two photo examples were took by my colleagues from 4pda forum.
Example #2. Again it looks nice.
But if we crop and compare with RAW, which was got by Pro-auto mode, ... just look at this ...
Example #3. Indoor low light picture.
Let's crop again.
Even here we can see the difference between auto and Pro-auto modes algorithms.
It's just a few examples, but I assure you that all owners will have the same problem. The problem is the camera soft. My colleagues and I call you not to leave it. You could add your examples with auto and Pro-auto comparison. We all need to attract more attention to this problem, maybe OnePlus team will fix this awful watercolor effect in auto mode.

I tried it myself and I noticed that when the watercolour effect is present, the ISO of the photo is a lot higher. In the pro-auto mode, the ISO used is 800, while in auto mode for the same picture the ISO is 1600. I also notice that sometimes the watercolour effect may not take place in auto mode, in this case, the ISO as well as the picture quality will be the same as pro-auto mode.
In addition please find the topic on the official forum.
Also there is at least one support ticket 1269844 - but this one seems to be visible for 1+ support only...

Unfortunately not, the watercolor effect always appears in auto mode. It may not be noticeable when you look at the close and large objects on the picture, but this doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Have the same on my unit, tried cropping and looks like on the above examples. Camera is the weakest point on this phone I hope they will try to do this something with this software...
The camera is terrible. In auto mode, there is a very strong watercolor effect, there is no clarity. In the pro mode, the situation is slightly better, but the noise reduction works very hard, kills all the details. In addition, in the pro mode, the dynamic range is smaller.
I absolutely agree. The software is horrible for this camera. OnePlus used way too aggressive noise reduction, AND they use to high ISO values in Auto mode. And I didn't even mention the useless digital crap that their marketing calls "2x lossless zoom". Unfortunately, they don't seem to be interested in fixing the camera (a HAL change is required), and they officially stated they won't open access to the telephoto camera because it's quite crappy.
Oh, and by the way, their Camera 2 API implementation is buggy as hell. We have a mosquito artefact when shooting HDR+ with Google Camera or even using Snap Camera to capture RAW!
Curious how 4.5.10 compares to 4.5.8....They Noise Reductions improvements.
I haven't got the chance to take any daylight shots , but when i took some indoor shots , i indeed saw huge improvements in 4.5.10 , and the noise has gone down and details have gone up , i will post some example shots if u want.

There is no difference... Watercolor effect is still here.
Camera is still bad. Please oneplus can't you just see how detailed and sharp the oneplus 3t camera is?? How hard would it be to correct the post processing?

When I open the camera app, I can switch between 0,6x (wide angle), 1x (main camera) and 2x (telephoto camera).
You can find pictures of which lense on the backside belongs to which camera on the internet, I can't post the link because I am a new user here.
The top lense with the red ring arround it should be the telephoto camera, the midddle one the main camera and the lower one should be the wide angle lense.
Now the issue:
I can block the top camera with my finger (telephoto camera) and when I switch to the 2x mode I can still see the image, for the zoom mode there is still the main camera in use. So when I block the main camera with my finger I can see my finger in front of the lense for 1x and 2x mode.
The phone only switches the camera lense for wideangle 0,6x mode, where according to my fingertest the lower camera is in use.
Can someone confirm this issue? It is quiet simple to test, I am wondering why I can't find this issue reportet somewhere on the internet.
Hopefully this is just a software thing but it somehow seems like Xiaomi replaced the separat telephoto camera with a simple digital zoom of the main camera and nobody noticed it yet?
I got my phone from Gearbest yesterday, it was ordered on 8th of july 2019.
According to this user, he tested it and claimed it as working. I don't have my 9T yet (ordered 6.7.2019 from Gearbest, probably arrive tomorrow) so I don't have way to test it. Just try it with Gcam and post results here

Top camera is portrait mode, middle is regular and zoom, lowest one is ultra wide. Testing these through blocking with fingers shows that all three cameras work as expected.

Quiet intresting, it seems like a software issue.
If you use the 1x normal mode and zoom in manually with two fingers, the lense is switched to the upper one when zoomfactor exceeds 1,9x.
But if you change to 2x by choosing it via the three little dots it doesn't change to the upper camera. Even if you zoom in some more via two fingers it stil uses the middle lense.
It also switches to the upper camera in portrait mode, thats right. It seems like the app uses the zoom camera for portraits but the camera is not explicitly described as a portrait camera.
So just a little bit confusing, but the hardware works fine.
It was so easy back in the days with only one lens

Maybe I think too much and don't trust enough in technology...
The camera switches also to the zoom lens when you tap on "2x" and capture some objects a bit more distant.
So maybe the zoom lense is just not that good in focusing objects closer tot he lens, so the app decides that it would be better to use the main camera.
In Pro mode:
- Telephoto: upper camera
- Wide: middle camera
- Ultra-wide: lower camera
All three work as expected. I hope this helps clarifying things.
It's not broken, it's just how the software optimizes when you switch between the zoom options. Try switching to 2x and actually trying to focus on something farther away, you'll notice in that instance it will actually use the telephoto lens.
In low conditions it uses digital crop from the main sensor, it doesn't use the telephoto.

I can confirm that. Telephoto is f/2.4, and in low light software is going for the main camera which is f/1.8. For me good feature, for sure not a bug.

Shoot in MOVIE ModeWhen searching through the different camera modes, you might come across MOVIE. This mode offers much more than just a different aspect ratio. This mode is designed with professional filming tools and camera controls. If you intend on editing your footage before posting it, this is a great camera mode for you.
On the right side of the preview window, you'll see the manual controls for iso, f-stop, zoom, focus, and white balance. These controls are super easy to navigate and do not interfere with getting your shot.
The left side has important features that will come into play in your post editing session. LOG will give your footage greater dynamic range, for better color grading in post. HDR gives your footage better contrast and enhanced colors. Try shooting with these toggled on so you can have more freedom in your editing environment.
Change Lenses in PRO ModeWith many phones, the PRO mode is limited to one lens, and at first glance you might think that this is also the case on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. However, you can toggle through all three of the rear camera lenses in PRO mode by selecting the tree icon in the top menu.
Choose between wide-angle/macro, standard, and telephoto. With each lens, you still retain the full set of pro controls, so you can get your shot looking exactly how you want it to. It's also worth noting that all of these lenses are compatible with RAW and RAW PLUS photography.
Enable 10-bit color Mode10-bit photos can be captured in both PHOTO and NIGHT mode. You can enable this feature in the settings menu. Your 10-bit photos will retain more color data that can be viewed on compatible devices and apps that support it. These image files are saved in the .HEIF format, which is compatible with the default ColorOS photo editor. So if you are mostly editing and viewing your photos on your OPPO Find X5 Pro, then I highly recommend turning this feature on.
If you want to share your .HEIF photo in an app that is not supported (like Discord, Snapshot, Twitter etc.) Then you can easily convert the file in the photos app. Go to Photos > settings, then enable "Convert HEIF photos for sharing".
Manually Adjust f-stop in VIDEO ModeDo you want to create that shallow depth of field look from big DSLR cameras? You can adjust the f-stop in VIDEO mode using the shutter icon. This will create dramatic looking videos with blurred backgrounds, similar to how portrait mode looks with photos. Just keep in mind that this limits your video resolution to 1080, disabling 4k shooting.

For example, if you take a photo of food, phone AI can detect a food automatically, and the Image Signal Processor (ISP) ensures all the elements in the image are perfectly captured, intelligently applies AI scene enhancement automatically to enhance the image detail, color, contrast and so on.
Pro Mode
Pro Mode can manually adjust settings such as ISO, shutter speed, exposure compensation, auto/manual focus and white balance to achieve the quality and depth.
OPPO Find X5 Pro added two useful functions in Pro Mode which are Histogram and Focus peaking functions, I frequently use these two functions during some situations.

Focus PeakingThe image format has JPG, RAW & RAW PLUS, the raw & raw plus file can record more details, which enable to do post-processing through photo editing apps like photoshop easily, but the file size of raw & raw plus is much bigger than jpg, compare with 3MB .jpg, it saves as in .dng and costs more than 25MB per image.

Hasselblad Xpan Mode allows you to capture cinematic panoramas photos in either retro color or black & white.
Night Mode
Night Mode is used for the night photography, if you bring a tripod, please use ‘Night Mode’ to capture, in order to have a less noise image.
Long Exposure Mode
Use Long Exposure Mode can capture moving vehicles, water&clouds and light painting. For example, I took this photo in Merlion Park, Singapore, it was a sunny day, if you use a DSLR camera without any ND filter it is difficult to have a long exposure photo, but this Long Exposure Mode in the phone can solve this issue, with 4 second shutter speed will smooth the water and gives it a silky and soft look.

Night ModeNight mode is a great way to easily get night shots without having to mess with a lot of settings. The default configuration for night mode results in some really great-looking photos. However, the key the using night mode effectively is by keeping your camera as still as possible while your phone processes the image. Look for the tripod icon in the corner of the screen to activate tripod mode. This will make your phone open your camera shutter for longer, letting more light into the sensor. Stability is key here, as any little vibrations can add blurriness to your shot. So make sure you have a rock-solid tripod to use with your phone.

To maximize these shots, I always use the 10-bit color mode which can be activated in settings. 10-bit color does work with night mode, so I tend to keep it on at all times.
Pro ModeIf you have a little more knowledge about photography and camera settings, you might feel more confident in PRO mode. This mode gives you manual control over all of your camera settings. Fine-tune your ISO and shutter speed for more complicated shots like night sky and city skylines.
Pro Mode also lets you shoot in RAW, giving you a better file to work with during the editing process. This mode should be used every time you take a night shot that you intend to edit before you post.
Long Exposure ModeAnother type of night photo that you can capture with the OPPO Find X5 Pro, is long exposure shots. The long exposure mode has simple presets designed for three different scenarios.
Moving vehicles- Capture the bright, moving lights of vehicles at night.
Light painting- Track glowing objects as they move in low light.
Water & clouds- Make waterfalls and other flowing water scenes look like beautiful oil paintings.
For night shots, experiment with the Moving vehicles and Light painting modes. Once you have selected the scene, you can adjust the exposure time to your preference. Set a timer and leave your phone in place, or set the time to unlimited and manually stop the shot when you're ready. Once again, this type of shot is best done with a tripod.
