After updating to marshmallow, the notification has the 'tap to manage notifications'. How to remove it? Thanks
Have to disable
I actually want to use the app but I can't stand seeing that "Tap to manage notifications". INSANELY annoying. Some people don't care but I do and I have the right to not have software forced on my phone. Has me contemplating about returning this Zenfone 3 as I am still in the return period though overall I like it.
Frustrating there is no easy setting so the only way is:
Go to APP MANAGER > MOBILE MANAGER > DISABLE
Then it's gone. If you need to use Asus Mobile Manager again search for it in the Play Store and ENABLE or repeat the step above and ENABLE.
Frustrating and I wish there was a way to have a full dark mode in Settings instead of that blinding white design. I despise white screen design, I want my interface like I want my coffee. Black.

Hi guys,
Now that you've spent some time with your Note 3, how about sharing your top recommended tip with the community.
This tip should be more like your personal experience with the device. I'll go first...
Switching to Nova Launcher Prime with system animations set to fast took my user experience to an all new level...be sure to use "zoom fade" effect on nova settings...
Great thread, I used to use card stack, but changed to zoom fade, thanks for the tip, the tip I would share would be invisible lock screen widget, place it on your home screen, and turn your phone on stand by without any icons showing.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Will try this out soon thanks!
Here's another tip: After trying a lot of hd wallpaper apps, I found "ZEDGE" to be the best in terms of wallpaper clarity and variety. I now use this app and filter out newest wallpapers with stunning picture quality.
Quick Torch access
There is a setting to allow the flash to be used a s a torch quickly while the screen is off. You long-press the Volume-Up key to start it, and press the Volume-Down key to stop it. It also has an optional timeout setting.
To get this setting, called 'Torch Light' I use the 'Activity' shortcut in SSLaucher, as it is not in the normal settings. You can also use the 'Activity Launcher' app. Once set, you do not have to set anything again.
Here's a good one....want Developer options? This is bizarre, but go to 'About device' in settings, then to your build number which appears greyed out. Click it about three, four times, it'll say 'you're almost a developer' and then bam it'll say you are, go back to settings and wala, you'll see a new 'Developer Options' tab! Kinda strange way to get it to show, but it works.

Man this has to be the best tip that I've seen so far hands down...I literally installed spare parts plus to get the dev options and make animations faster!
Off to unistall spare parts and see the shiny developer options in settings! Thanks a ton mate!
TIP to Reduce Number of Button Press on Note 3:
So this is a tip to substantially reduce the number of times one has to press the power on and home button.
Install "lock screen widget" from the play store (free) and place on ure home screen...it automatically switches off screen on touch...
For those of you who long press the home button to get the multi tasker up...configure the swipe up action in your non touchwiz launcher to open the "recent apps" list...
*Bump*
- Under Settings--> controls --> SPen you can set S pen Keeper, to alert you if you ever walk away without attaching the Spen. In case you forget it. Which has happened to me twice so far. :silly:
In settings/device/accessibility and under the section of mobility you can select the assistant menu and a little pop-up menu will give you some nifty shortcuts if you are using the s pen and don't want to press the home button of s shame with the pen hahaha it's just terrible to do it.

Thanks for the s pen tips guys...though I've really not come around to using it often on a daily basis.
Hi Guys
Over the last couple of days I've been having problems with my screen jumping a little bit when i either close an app (with the exception of chrome) to return to the home screen or if I'm in the settings and i go back a page (it jumps every time i go pack a page).
If leave the phone in sleep mode for a while, when i unlock it everything works ok for the first 5-10 seconds and then it goes back to jumping if i close an app....etc
I've been doing a bit of googling (is that a word....lol) and there's a few people with the problem but i cant find any fixes.
I'm guessing that it could be that something on the motherboard has overheated but this is just a guess.
If anyone has any ideas then please let me know ?
Also I've found a temporary cure for when it happens when i close an app by installing nova launcher and going into the “look and feel” settings and enabling “slide Up” under the “App Animation” setting.
But does anyone know of an app that will allow me to change the transition effects of windows ?
Thanks guys

you've said that you have nova launcher installed...
nova settings > desktop > scroll effect (premium version offers more transition effects)
also, go to device settings > developer tools > and set animation scales to 0.5 instead of 1
if you don't have developer options under device settings, do the following:
1. open settings menu
2. go in "about phone" submenu
3. there go in "software information" submenu
4. click 7 to 8 times quickly on "build number"
5. developer tools should now be showing just above the "about phone” in settings
DO NOT change anything else there besides that animation scale values
Thanks for the reply
Yes i have nova installed and i have it set on cube but thats just for the home screen.
What i need is an app that will let me change other screens.
For example the screens in settings.
The strange thing is that the screen only seems to jump when im going back (i think its the zoom out effect).
Ive just found an app called xuimod that u think has the oprion i need.
Ill post back if it works
Well guys....
It turns out i can do everything with xuimod so i dont even need to keep nova.
But i dont think this fix is going to last if the jumping gets worse.
So is there any known fix for the jumpy screen ?
Anyone ?
Its like a VERY mild form of whats happening to this guys phone:

Hi, I just got my x651 from China, it seems to be ok, except a few bugs I tried to manage but for only a few I found solutions so far. My rom seems to be somehow the latest one but it says x653 in some places, s28.
No OTA update available and scared to don't land in a far worst ROM...
1. EUI launcher was acting quite strange, the widget button was not working, the central button with LeEco stream could not be replaced, etc. so I got google now launcher which is clean and simple, but..
2. there are lots of apps (whatsapp) requesting normal permissions (contacts and local storage) but I cannot grant them because it is asking me to stop the draw over from settings, which I cannot do, since there is no way to do this (I don't have in menus options to disable this draw over thing), so I got locked in a damn loop.
q: is there any way to disable the draw over thing if there is no option in apps? or to grant permissions ignoring the draw over thing? because whatsapp is useless without contacts and saving abilities.
3. right after i started the phone I noticed the bold text used for titles is white with thick borders, as in other phones I saw in that option for high contrast text, also there is no way to change it since there are no options in accessibility regarding this.
q: is there any way to disable this or to unhide menu options? maybe a third party software like system optimizer?
any help greatly appreciated. as I said, I was tempted to try the last version of official rom but I have some bad experience with chinese apps in some former telephones so I'd rather check 10 times before cutting the rope, you know..
I have PRO 3 LEX653 (Helio x23), quite similar to yours since I don't know what the difference but we having the same problem.
For your question 1, EUI launcher is quite buggy for me too. You can use other launcher to use widget features.
Question 2, you need to disable "Swipe shortcuts" which can be found in "Setting > Accessibility > Swipe shortcuts".
Question 3, I don't understand, give screenshot might help.
Also, help me with my thread too!

I wanted to share this with everyone in hopes that my solutions helps at least one person.
I have an LG G6 running Android 8.0. A few apps I use require Draw over other apps to be turned on. One of those apps is Keeper Security, which needs permission to Draw over other apps so that its Keeper Fill feature can read the screen and go find my username/password for that website/app I am trying to login to. Since around December 2018 it has started acting 'flaky'. Even though I had enabled Draw over other apps for the app already, it kept notifying me that I needed to turn it on. After some random setting changes of turning the draw over apps setting ON/OFF, along with the Keeper Fill setting from within the source app that needs this permission, I could eventually get it to work again, but it would always break again very soon after.
As I am getting ready to go on a trip, I installed Google's Datally app. It, too, wants me to turn on Draw over other apps, but when I tap "next" to be taken to the Android settings page to enable Draw over other apps, nothing happens (I usually expect an app detects it has been enabled and gives "success" message).
So I started disabling the 3 possible suspects listed by kapil1100 in this post. I had LG's Comfort View and some Accessibility options enabled, so I turned them off and: no change.
I disabled all other apps that have permission to Draw over other apps via: Settings > Apps & notifications > Special access > Draw over other apps, and: no change.
I use Evie launcher, so I went back to the stock one: no change.
I got thinking about what else could be modifying/accessing the screen and realized that LG has custom Home touch buttons.
I went to: Settings > Display > Home touch buttons > Hide Home touch buttons and DISABLED Show lock/hide icon and then tried enabling Draw over other apps for Datally and IT WORKED!.
I was then able to turn Show lock/hide icon back ON and everything has been working as expected. I suspect that, because I had Show lock/hide icon turned on during an upgrade, something got messed up and my turning it OFF and back ON fixed the issue.
I hope this helps someone!
hi everyone,
How to be visually warned about notifications on the Galaxy A40? (notification led? Always on display?)
Is it planned by samsung an update to enable a solution?
thanks,
Download Glimpse Notification from Play Store. Adfree app to Flash screen when notification arrive.
What a bad news.....
Nothing official from Samsung??
This program is cool with 0 memory and battery usage. I use this and perfect.
I have a Xiaomi mi band 2 too, you should buy one for 15 $ if dont like the first option.(glimpse notification)
Led is hardware option, what dont have Galaxy a40.
AOD is software solution, but for this prize Samsung Will not give this feature to a ,,budget'' phone.(Galaxy a40)
Try expandes Settings. Its in a40s Settings - there is an Option to to lighten up the display At notification

Unfortunately this option a piece of garbage. When you use your phone in your hand, this option Will blink the screen with yellow color or blink the Flash lite. If it just work when you dont use your phone this option Will be good.

P.S: Sorry mate, my job is bulls*|t.
2xP.S: After doing all this settings, you gonna have somewhere in background battery optimiser AOE, the only way to get rid of that is to go on Settings > Apps > tap on those 3 dots on the right corner > Special Access > Optimise battery usage > than Enable it for "Always on Edge" (it should disappear) > tap on the drop down menu > and select "All" > look for Always on Edge and disable it.
Oh, and "one more thing" over here
make sure u drag that slider to always:
after that reboot the phone.
