Battery life? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I have always been confused by the battery life apps. I have a rooted device with Xposed installed. I wanted to install a battery saver and ram manager. What's the best battery saver app and what settings should I use. What's a good ram and cache manager app?

Nothing can help unless samsung wants to help themselves

Power saving mode of n2 with greenify. If you want best battery be on 4.1.2 rom with perseus kernel. Unmatched combo
greenify
Im using greenify too.. it works with 4.4.2 too..
It's worth trying xposed receiver stop and boot manager with greenify as well

Greenify is great

my theory is to don't use power saving apps, I use the built -in power saver, automatic screen brightness, when I exit an app or game I remove it from the recent list, if im in a place with no signal I turn airplane mode on. If I dont need internet I turn off the wifi/data.
power saving mode is great always.. give a try to DU battery saver if u are not rooted. It works pretty well for. Add the cleaner widgte to your screen which helps clearing the RAM with a tap..
Greenify Donation. Its worth it. I don't care what ROM it is battery life is great as long as I wipe internal SD before flash

Greenify, without a doubt a benchmark of battery saving applications.

Hey,
are there any proofs that Greenify increases battery life? Any benchamarks? Comparisions?
Or just illusion?
Like apps to increasing performance, they are ruining it. (i will reccomend here LagFix app

Why don't you try using it and see for yourself. There's nothing better than doing it for yourself rather than relying on somebody else, no?
Benchmark you are referring to is some what, stupid. I am pertaining to a benchmark which elevates the standard of battery saving or performance enhancing.

I did, and to be honest i did'nt noticed the difference, maybe it's just me.
It's not stupid, there's a way to do that.
Greenify should share theirs results to public, if they saying it will increase your battery then prove it! Show me the results. Im that kind of person.
Take care

Yeah, why not? It's giving you some reference point.
One option is to install a good kernel for your ROM and configures it to consume little energy (UV)

Undervolting is still controversial. I used to do the same but also tried stock settings and have even or better battery life.

greenify
greenify is the best battery saving app plus you need to remove unwanted apps cz they may be eating battery..mobile data eats battery no one can help you there it's always better to use wifi when it's available..
First of all I would recommend to change the kernel. If you're on version 4.3 or lower Pegasus Kernel provides the best ratio between performance and battery drain.
It's much better than using a task killer.
I tried both, but any task killer isn't quite comfortable, because it closes tasks you may need. And also white listing isn't always an option. Nevertheless you'll have performance lags as soon as the cache is cleaned. Any app has to reload its processes anew.

Battery Life...

Guys my battery life is really bad, every morning the phone is dead, I am currently rooted using the Alliance ROM.
Can someone suggest a better kernel or battery friendly ROM?
I'd check for wakelocks or rogue apps first.
If the rom had an issue it'd all ver the thread.
Download gsam battery monitor or better battery stats and try to see what's the reason your phone is awake.

I agree. This should isolate the cause of your abnormal battery drain. Then you would need to determine a way to eliminate the wakelocks, using a means such as uninstalling the wake causing apps.
Alternatively you could factory reset.

Post some screenshots so we can help decipher the problem.
Im running omega rom with omega kernel and I get great battery life.just try out some different roms and kernels and you will find a good rom and kernel setup.

[APP][2.2+] Wakelock Detector will help to spot apps that are draining battery.
Use [APP][4.0+] Greenify to make apps sleep.

This will tell you how to stop battery drain while the phone is idle.

Also the search feature is a great resource. It will bring you to roughly a thousand battery saving tips on XDA.

I'm using this rom: forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-galaxy-s5-stock-rom-final-fast-clean-t2888215
Can I suggest you get 'greenify' from Xposed.
Then use greenify to freeze all background tasks.
Perhaps there is something running while your phone is awake, just a suggestion. Probably not your battery if you get a good life when the screen is off.
Are you using any custom kernel, in case of increased voltage or high frequencies or an aggressive governor.
I use the kernel from omega v23. Can i find the default kernel from note III to flash to my rom?
Thanks

on me too.. if i play a game for a example battery drain so fast..i use stock rom for n900k .. but i have a question..i have a s4 charger 5v/1A and battery discarge if i play..or look on phone..internet etc.. i need a 2A charger? ..
as i can see android "android system " drains a lot of battery .... so if you are rooted you can you app master ( i have used it its a very nice app ) unistall some google apps you dont need or you dont use that much ( you can replace them with similar apps from the market ) also use greenify and any other app that can "clear" your ram i also use gsam battery monitor to check how much battery my phone drains in 1 hour

Battery saver app?

Can anyone recommend a good way to monitor and control what is using the battery on this phone? In particular, background data-y stuff seems to suck battery power.
