I'm looking for an app that allows me to select a single or group of files and hide them with password protection. I was able to do that on LG G4 just by selecting a picture file or video file I could hide from the menu in "Gallery" on LG G4. The Gallery app on Axon 7 seems to be lacking that particular feature. Is there a way to enable it as I prefer that instead of installing one more app. If not - what is best app to hide pics. I've tried quickpic but did not like the part that it either hides a folder and subfolder or nothing. Also there is not password requirement to unhide things in quickpic.
I'm not interested in cloud backup of my pics as I'm looking for more of local storage solution.

Trying to find a picture hiding app for pics i don't want the general public to see... i know i can go the route of locking my galery but id rather keep that open..... you know its kind of suspicious to have a locked photo gallery.........
I have been using audio manager pro (hide it pro) on my Atrix... need something that works good for honeycomb!! Help please....
do a market search for stocks and you should stumble upon a $4.99 photo and video hiding app... I think you can only hide media taken with the tablet though.

If you place a '.' at the beginning of a folder name, it will hide it from the gallery.

This is a good suggestion. Works on nearly any android device. Doesn't even matter what directory it is in. Keep in mind though, it is still visible when exploring the directory.
Naked pictures!!!!!!!

Hide pics from gallery with 'File Expert'
I have searched for the same with no luck, however discovered that 'File Expert' can do the job.
Just long press on a folder that contains the pics you want hidden from the gallery (you could make a new folder for all the pics you want to hide if needed?), and click on "Hide Pics for Media Detection".
I use a different app as a file explorer, but keep file expert to hide music album covers etc from the gallery.

Quickpic is a great gallery alternative that lets you move pictures and hide folders and it's free.

Hi
When I set the photo frame widget on my home screen, it shuffles images from the whole device. So it even shows icon images, screen shots, clipboard images, and any images that are part of the android or Samsung system in the photo frame.
Is there any way of just selecting ffrom the SD card? I've gone into the photo frame settings and there are just 3 options. I can choose either one photo to display, a specific image folder, or shuffle all images. Absolutely useless...I only want my photos to show up....not system or clipboard images.
I resent having to pay for another app to replace something already on my device, but with such a simple and obvious oversight as this.

Just put a .nomedia file in folders you want media scanner to ignore.

Thanks. Just tried that and it hasn't worked. I put touch.nomedia in one of the folders but it still appears in the gallery.

Try text file .nomedia inside that folder .

Clear app cache for media server as well.

wouldn't it be easy to make a new folder just for the widget and copy the photos you want to appear on the widget into that folder?

Not really no. I have over 20 folders of sorted photos.....roughly 6gb altogether, it would take ages to copy the photos from each folder into a single folder. Plus I don't want to double the amount of memory taken up just so I can have the photo frame without all the other system and app images showing up. It really is utterly ridiculous that Google missed this basic need.....I have over 3000 images added to the widget, but I only have 500 photos, come on Google, you can do better than this!!!
Sometimes its easier to create the .nomedia file on a pc and trasfer across.

I've found that i have to delete the media storage every time i add new photos or icons etc. The media scanner doesn't seem to recognise new content.
Anybody know how to get rid of all the junk collection of non-photos in the Oneplus Gallery app. Or have a workaround in the stock software. The Gallery app shows photos taken from the camera app, and a " collection folder " at the bottom which stores a ton of garbage gifs of game screens, icons, etc that fill the folder.
Google Photos are NOT showing included in the Gallery app, and you can't share the Google pics from the photo app to text or share on facebook without saving them directly to another folder in app before sharing. .
If you open photos in facebook, the options are littered with like 1,000 gifs, of hearts, and emoticons, game screens, etc with the few camera photos mixed in from the Oneplus Gallery App.
I'd like to know where oneplus is storing these and wondering if I can get rid of the garbage " collection " folder or somehow replace that app as default to make the phone more usable for a family member. They love the phone but need facebook, and this is a major hangup for them that I'd like to help resolve. Can't find the folder with gallery folders with the explorer app I installed. They don't seem to be in DCIM. I may get my hands on phone this evening but any directions / solutions would be appreciated.
Thanks
I've noticed too so I'd appreciate it as well
still an issue.
It's been mentioned on Oneplus Website a couple times too. I searched the photo names ( long string of numbers ) and found the folder they were in. Deleted the folder and it got rid of a bunch, then deleted them individually. Slowed the problem but didn't stop it. Also tried to lock down the Gallery app from writing to phone with no luck.
Hoping they solve the problem pretty quickly with a software update or workaround. It's an annoying issue.
But I've not seen a resolution yet.

You should be able to create a file in the same directory as the icons named .nomedia (including the full stop at the start) using es file explorer etc. This informs android not to scan this folder for media files. I have had the same issue on previous phones in the past and this normally solves the issue. You may need to clear the data and cache from the gallery app to remove any icons already displayed after.

LOL well spotted. Corrected :good:
Found a solution that seems to be working
I did a factory reset - and chose not to transfer all apps / data / settings, instead downloading each individual app to phone along with manual setup. I also disabled the "Oneplus Gallery" app from writing to the phone in app settings, while grabbing a random Gallery app from Play store. So far, for the day, seems to be working. I'm seeing no stickers pop up on the phone.
< Crossing fingers >
I'd be happy if I can get rid of the "Recently Deleted" feature.

You're the man!! It totally worked as easy as that! I created one in the "Android\data" folder and directly on the "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.facebook.orca/files/stickers/" that's it they disappeared.
Thanks again
The .momedia thing was pretty funny, you can imagine doing that and then android doubles the trash, you did after all ask for... mo.
I delete all that with this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uni.unseengallery.ke
Any way to disable "Recently Disabled" feature of the stock photo album app? When I delete a photo, I want it gone forever and ever. Not hanging out in a folder called "Recently Disabled".
I am rooted if that matters.
I use a different Gallery app and when I delete photos from there they do not end up in the "Recently Deleted"
That's one possible solution.
I don't think there is an option to disable this in default app. If you so badly dont want this maybe try another gallery app?
I've been using a different gallery app (F-Stop) but photos I delete still appear in the OnePlus gallery's Recently Deleted collection. That said, it saved me a bit of grief recently--I tried one of the OP7 Pro camera APKs, then accidentally cleared data instead of cache. That wiped out my DCIM/Camera folder contents. It took just a few seconds to get everything back because it was in Recently Deleted.
Hello folks...
My gallery (Foto Gallery Premium) could hyde pics n vids, but after Android 11, everytime i move anything to hyde, the midis gets blank. I tryed grant permissions, but I read somewher that Droid11 only allows the default gallery to have some perms. Anyone have a solution or an App that works well ? (I'm using "formula" from someone from here at XDA, but i dont like it much)
The stock gallery also provides the option to hide and show. Why not use that one?
