Messing around with EMUI has been a lot of fun. There are quite a few features that I really like in it. The only thing that I really miss is the stock Google look. So I made some tweaks to get everything looking like the stock Google launcher in EMUI.
Material Design theme
The theme engine in EMUI doesn't come with many themes out of the box, but you can import themes from an external source. This theme is a material design theme that will change all the icons back to the stock images. Check out this thread to see instructions on how to set it up.

Adjust Text Size
The text and the icons size is a bit large on the 5x. I was going to change the DPI through ADP but you can adjust this right in the settings menu. I set the font size and view mode to small. You can set them as whatever you like though. It also looks great with the text and small and the view mode as large.
changing view modes is a nifty feauture, atleast for people who has not rooted their phones to change dpi.
for real material glory use this theme.

Hey guys (and gals)...
i was just strolling around today, and thought to myself..
man this grey HTC background sucks...Just curious if anyone has made a good background for their wizard.
I was trying to find a good Vista Aurora style one, but My effors were not so good =\
Gimme some colors and a basic idea what you want to see as a bg. Are you looking for dials and whatnot to use as bg for rlToday, or are you just looking for a nice pic to match your color scheme, or what?
If you're just looking for some nice pics to chop and use as background, I suggest looking here: http://www.everystockphoto.com/
It's a search enabled, indexed library of royalty free or cheap pictures (if use is private, no royalties apply).
If you're looking for something custom-made, you need to post specifications.
Custom program icons and background:

}
Vista Aurora bg you can chop/resize yourself (download PhotoPlus, it's free and easy to use):
I'm looking for a vista theme and background.
The closest I've gotten is the HTC_Default theme.
and with this background :
I like most of it, except, the grey doesn't show up too well on the phone.
If only it was a solid black with the little blue "aurora" lines, that would be great (also, it was somewhat difficult adjusting the size to fit the phone)
Edit: I know the quality of the picture sucks monkey balls, thats because I changed it from BMP to Jpeg (easier to upload).
Hi , to avoid photoshop problems you can check out these sites
http://www.pocketpcscreens.com/
or http://pocketthemes.com/download.php?op=viewdownload&cid=1
i know photoshop a little bit and have a thread with a few today screens if you're interested.
Hi
I am sure that I am not alone when I look at the new WM6.5 Start Menu and it just looks plain bloody ugly where it was once honeycomb and now all the icons are spaced oddly in rows of 3 icons then the next row below has only two and on and on..
Is it possible to go more down the line of having them all line up both horizontally and vertically.
See below mock up please.
Regards

That would look nice. Also, how about being able to arrange alphabetically?
My thoughts exactly
Can't be that hard. But since i'm using Launchpad nowadays, i'm not gonna make it

Would be cool as above Launchpad & Launchmanager are good progs but an app to replicate WM6.1 menu with Start Menu hook and the ability to change background "and other tweaks" would be sweeeet
If you have any luck let me know! It seems that the honeycomb is forced. The only way I could get it half-decent was a single column (i.e. a list). For more details, look at:

And with reStart you can tweak it still a bit more like changing folders, arrange icons etc

Looks Good
In the resources files from Manup456 eclair 2.0.1 v1.5 has a resources pack, in this resources pack is a weather flip clock widget, I was able to get this installed however it did not display quite right, might install again and take a screen shot, I was wondering, because it installed and displayed all the correct information, just the display was just all compressed and out of place. could someone code this for the nexus one since it is already installable, just does not display right, Will donate for this, I know there are other methods, i think, but I like this one.

I think the resolution was made for smaller screens, i havent tried this since im about to unbox mines.

Nice Ace, I was thinking about starting a thread where we could post our pics we take with our Nexus Ones. The Screen Resolution thing is what I was thinking too. I am just not at a coding level yet. It's all installed and I been studying, but I don't really have people to give me the proper training, guess I better get back in class.
Anyway, thx for the response and enjoy falling in love with your N1.
This is the first pic I took, with FXcamera on my nexus.

The one in the resource pack is an old version of the donate weather flip clock for sale in the market. The newest version in the market supports 2.0 ROMs, which means it will auto adjust for the resolution and look right. The one Manup provided is the last free version of it before it started to be a donation only version, IIRC, and is only comaptiable with the G1.
I know it sounds silly but I can't use the stock android icons, I don't mind the design per se, but the different sizes is unbearable, I can't believe Google hasn't fixed this, shame on Mathias Duarte, I'm using now xposed+unicon to change the icons, but I haven't found a pack that convinces me , I only want the stock icons but redesigned of have the same size , by fitting them onto rectangles , but a lot of them change the design a lot and I don't like that, which one would you guys recommend? The only icon packs I like so far are "tersus 2" "nox" and "stark" and they're made by the same developer :silly:

You can try those out. Over 1400 icons and mostly sticks to a stock look and has consistency across all the icons. I bought them and I use them quite often with Nova Launcher Prime.

I already got them and they're nice but the overall shape of the icons ruin them for me, makes them look amateur :crying: , such a shame

1100+? icons, squareish

Thank you, I'm giving up pack a test trial right now, I'm liking it :good:
Hi guys...
I just saw this now (I was lazy to work last few months but I'll try to work on few projects now) and this could really help is to theme our Lolipop UI to dark...
If we change few lines we could easily have one switch to change UI to dark..
Without boring smali editing and assets drawing...

I can't show you screenshoot because it can't be taken that way (and as I said, I'm lazy to take another device to take a picture) but try to enable this function and check results...
We can and I'll try to use this feature to enable dark UI in a really time (without flashing mods or roms...)
There's even color correction to choose another bar colors.
Once again - that will only change colour you see on the screen but I really think it's enough for the beginning...
Anyone tried? (to modify that settings, not only to use stock)

Great point mate!
I've found something similar in dev settings. Not sure how this settings is called in English but go down to 4x MSAA setting. There you will see what I mean..
Maybe we can figure it out with help of this: http://www.designrifts.com/teamblackedoutapp/tutorials/ ?
So we should search for the lines which changes after switching to inversion mode?
Am I right if I think this switch "changes" the line in framework-res.apk?

https://android.googlesource.com/pl...fs/heads/master/core/res/res/values/attrs.xml
Btw. a little question. Why I am not possible to change for example navbar icons with a theme apk in LP? I've decompiled the themes from LP and did there the changes..
