For those who have upgraded their phones: is tethering included in T-Mobile's 2.2 OTA update for the MyTouch 3G?
I see USB tethering as an option under Wireless & Network settings -> Tethering.
same here, I see only USB Tethering. Also as a side note. The Universal Androot DOES NOT work after the upgrade. Can't root that way. So I downloaded Visionary from the market, (I used that on my tmobile G2 to root) and all be damned if it didn't work perfect to root the mytouch with 2.2. After you root, then you can download the opensource wifi hotspot app or any other tethering app.
Hello, I'm planning to finally replace my unlocked international GN1 with a GN4. I'm on Cricket so I need a version that supports ATT LTE bands, which as far as I can can tell is A, T, and W8. F and C do not have the necessary bands right?
Both the A and T variants will have tethering blocked by default, and I'm aware that the T-mobile version can be rooted to enable tethering, but I'm curious if I can avoid that by buying an unlocked W8 and using that instead. Does anyone know if the W8 has Wifi tethering enabled out of the box like the EU versions?
I want to buy a Yotaphone 2 and I plan to install a custom ROM (CM). Is it better to buy the YD201 or YD206? And do chinese verisons have a different hardware?
YD201 and YD206 differ only in radio. The other has different 4G LTE bands than the other. It would be wise to buy YD201 because of the wider support for 4G bands. As far as I know there are no other hardware differences.
Where do you plan on finding CM for YotaPhone? There shouldn't be any available.
I thought YD has USB 2.0 and YD206 has USB 3.0. Is this right?
About CM: Indeed there's no version. I confused something. I would like to have Android 5.0 on the phone. Is this possible for BOTH?

Both have the same micro usb port. And yes, you can flash Android 5.0 on both.
Get the 201
Get the 201, less hastle out of the box.
I own both models, a 201 and 206. The only difference is in the supported LTE bands. So far, there has been no real evidence if it can be changed by software or if it really is hardware related. You can check LTE support on https://www.frequencycheck.com/, both models are listed.
Any Yotaphone 2 rom can be flashed on both models using the yotaflasher, I just updated my YD206 to the latest russian version that way. So if 3G mobile data is enough or your provider is using the right LTE bands anyway, a 206 is fine.

The 201 can update to Lolipop without being flashed. The 206 can't be updated out of the box.

Yes, the 206 can not be updated 'over-the-air'. You need to use the Yotaphone Flasher to update. Not a big deal, there are plenty instructions out there.
Hello guys,
Im a bit desperate, when I try to enable mobile hotspot on my ATT Unlocked LG G6 (H871) it says auth failed and just won't share internet connection not thru wifi nor USB cable.
Please I will really appreciate your help, I need to work with my computer all the time using this function.
Thank you
If u have an att SIM card the function will work but if u have any other gsm SIM like straight talk the functions won't work as the OS is still essentially att's android.
What network are you using? Is it att or another one?
I recommend you check your phone's APN settings.
I've noticed US variants of V20 have MirrorLink in Share and Connnect menu under Settings. My h990ds does not have this enabled.
Is there a way to port MirrorLink from US Variants? Or to enable it into a custom kernel?
Currently running mk2000 & v10i-twnf firmware.
Thanks in regard.
