Why there are no such activities in custom Roms sections ?where are devs go?
We have lots of custom roms running 6.0.1 Marshmallow here. Although Nougat has been released, most Android phones are waiting to receive this new version. Be assured that there are some people who are currently trying to bring Nougat to the Redmi 2.

Maybe, maybe no, it is depanded on the devs effort for working on nouget, they are waiting for snapdragon nougat sources as somone told me

I think devs could do it.. as the was nougat pure note7 before.. maybe soon we might get pure s8 nougat?
I would like a port of S6 Nougat Touchwiz based ROM, not necessarily S8 one.

Its possible. The ones who makes ROM's just need to get some resources for Nougat. Specially for Snapdragon and Exynos variants.

I only think of one thing that makes the port impossible idk if it's right or not
For s7 marshmallow port we had to flash marshmallow bootloader for our s5 and s8 is nougat and s5 never had a nougat bootloader

S5 has never had a Nougat bootloader, but Note 3 has never had a marshmallow bootloader and the devs could port marshmallow to Note 3 ,just some modifications in kernel will be enough to get Nougat on S5, we just have to wait until samsung release snapdragon nougat's kernel sources

I am not sure because I am still newbie in devloping world, or you can say that im just a normal flasher who can modify only small things, and I think that the needed is the kernel sources not a Snapdragon phone with nougat, actually this is what I know till now, I am as everyone,I really wish to see a nougat port for our s5.

That's probably someone running a custom rom
It won't be of much use because we are expected to get Android Oreo soon. If we go by the past, it may come in December this year or January next year. It won't make much sense to provide us with new version update just for 2-3 months. Also, it would be better if they put there energy on bringing Oreo as soon as possible.

Kongakute was working on "resurrection remix" for 8.0 but about three months ago I had to give notice that I had to stop because I had to study hard. Hopefully, there will be some progress soon. If not we will be forgotten and stuck in Nougat 7. Greetings. :good:

I searched xda but the latest I could find is still Nougat 7.

I understand that no. Our beloved GT-I9500 left in the abandonment before the impossibility of making work correctly a driver that samsung never released and that's why it was almost impossible to get anything even stable.
will there ever be a majos os update officially in sm-t285? it is still stuck in android 5.1.1 lollipop when other A series tablets are already in higher android version . Even sm-t585 got official android 8.
So are we sm-t285 users gonna stuck in this lollipop rom for always? Won't it ever get any official update??
i want to say thanks to sir "jedld" for his awesome works of making custom roms (CM 13 and LineageOS 14.1) for this tablet sm-t285..?? i hope he sees this..?
